About this house rental
Le Cormoran - Talloires (also searchable as Our French Village House - Talloires) is perfect for large families, two families travelling together, small groups of cyclists (the garage with easy access to the street is perfect for storing bikes when not in use), girls' special trips away or even writers' retreats. The metre-thick inside walls, sturdy exposed wooden beams and stone garden walls leave no doubt that this is a house that has a history and has welcomed many generations of families. Set in the middle of the village of Talloires and with great access to all amenities it nonetheless has been decorated with an eye to retaining elements of the past but providing comfort in the present. Light-filled all year round, it offers a double bedroom with direct access to the garden and separate shower and toilet on the ground floor, an open dining area and morning coffee corner on the first floor plus a separate loungeroom which leads out to the terrace and the enclosed back garden. The kitchen, a shower room and a separate toilet are also on this level. The three other bedrooms (one queen and two with two single beds in each) are located on the top floor along with a third bathroom (under the eaves) and a separate toilet. You can choose to dine at either the long wooden table in the dining area inside or the outside table on the terrace, both intended to favour long lunches and festive dinners. A BBQ and some additional outdoor seating has been provided for you to relax and enjoy the mountain vista on offer. Monthly and longer-term stays are possible at a reduced rate. Perfect for a family or group, this traditional stone house has a modern kitchen and bathrooms. Plenty of space for 8 people, including an outdoor deck and yard with mountain views. The private garden is nicer than it looks in the photos. Easy walk to the lake, grocery and bakery. The property manager is very helpful and can arrange a private chef for a special in-home dinner. Talloires is picturesque and quiet.

We stayed here for a week in the summertime. Check in was easy and we loved the house. Our two adult children were with us and there was plenty of space for us all. The house had everything we needed and we loved the outside seating area. We cooked and ate there several times. The house is well located for local shops and bars and close to rhe lake. There are also good local bus links to Annecy.

Lovely holiday home.
Quirky house in fabulous location in the town so sometimes heard street noise. In very hot weather bedrooms in the were roof were stifling but wouldn't expect a/c in such a house. Lovely private garden facing the mountains and everything within walking distance. There was a delightful terrace where we ate all our meals. Talloires smaller than expected but delightful. Facilities ( washing and cooking)in the house were excellent. We had a lovely time- many thanks!

All the amenities worked well and the kitchen was well equipped. In hot weather we would recommend staying in the ground floor bedroom as it is the coolest and the en suite shower room looked brand new. Rooms upstairs can get stuffy in hot weather although fans are provided.
There are a couple of tips I would give about the village of Talloires. The first is that many of the restaurants are high end/Michelin starred which for us as a couple was great. However if you are bringing children, especially younger children, the formality of a lot of the restaurants may not be for you. There are a couple of family friendly restaurants but if you’re here for any length of time, I would consider self catering or another location. The other tip is around weekends. The village (as it is right next to the lake) was heaving at the weekends during hot weather, so if you want a restaurant booking on a Friday or Saturday night, make sure you make it well in advance. We had thought that everyone would go to nearby Annecy which is much larger in terms of lakeside space, but there were what felt like hundreds of people in what is essentially a village of two or three streets!
If you’re a couple or a group of adults looking for a peaceful time in a spectacular setting and enjoy top quality French cuisine, this is for you. We really enjoyed our stay.

The perfect spot !
We were visiting the Annecy area for a long week end with another family. We were 8 (4 adults and 4 Kids) and the house was a perfect match with our need. The owner is very nice and despite some other confilcting bookings Catherine did everything she can to allow us to use the House when it was available.
Comunication was smooth and the in-town Manager was also very responsive. The house is very well kept and we liked being able to enjoy the lake a short walk away. The view on the dents de lanfon from the backyard porch is breath-taking.

Bleeding, towels all provided, some basic supplies in kitchen on arrival, good stock of things like coffee, salt & pepper, loo roll etc., great small supermarket nearby, bigger at next village.
Entry and exit worked with no fuss fast and efficient all very easy.
Quiet, sunny garden, lovely at breakfast view of the sun light mountains.
This house is a gem, the host was very discrete and helpful.
Both HomeAway and host made this stay work like clockwork.

Return visit to lovely French village house
The house is wonderfully situated in Talloires, close to the lake, beach and all amenities. Full of character, well equipped and with a lovely terrace, garden and beautiful views of the mountains behind. The managers, Claude and Michelle, are always very helpful and informative.

We enjoyed many of the activities available in the area including mountain biking, white water rafting, a visit to Chamonix as well as the water sports available on Lake Annecy itself. The owner was very helpful beforehand with advice and the local agency were on hand, if needed. The checking in & out processes were straightforward. This is a lovely property in a lovely part of France.

Lovely old French village house in perfect location
We had a great time in your lovely house which is so close to the town centre, good restaurants and Lake Annecy. The house is very well equipped and evening meals on the deck overlooking the mountains were particularly enjoyable. The fans helped to keep the upstairs bedrooms cooler as they got quite warm in the hot weather. We found the single bed mattresses a bit bouncy and soft, but otherwise the house is very well appointed and full of character.

Perfect location, great home
We loved our stay in this home. The house was beautifully decorated, had amazing view of the mountains from the deck, and was very close to everything in the town center - shops, groceries, restaurants, lake, etc. Lots of street parking so never a problem finding a place to park. The weather was very hot during our stay and the upstairs bedrooms became quite warm - but there were lots of house fans, so that helped. Street level bedroom was nice and cool, but just a little damp/musty which wasn't a big problem because we could keep the bedroom window open when we were in the room.

Stunning location !
We had a lovely time in Catherine's house, an old typical French house but with all modern confort and a well-equiped kitchen. The weather was already quite chilly but heating was working really well. It is perfectly located in the center of Talloires village, the lake is walking distance. There are many great hikes in the surroundings too. The property manager was really helpful and available when needed. We will definitively love to come back !

Beautiful quaint villa in stunning area of France
We loved our short stay in Talloires. The villa is beautiful, has plenty of space, and is well equipped . The lake is only a short stroll away and is so pretty. It was getting a little bit cold at the time of our stay but was still swimmable. The town of Annecy is only a short drive away and in my opinion is one of the prettiest towns in Europe (at least the towns I have visited). I would strongly recommend the villa to anyone wanting to spend some time in the French Alps.

Loved our stay here and couldn't have wished for more. The house has everything you need and more. The area is stunning and we loved swimming and sunbathing next to the lake as did our 2 yr old. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in going to tallories.

The best location in Talloires for 8 people
We spent a wonderful week in this house. It is perfectly located for parents and kids so you don't have to take the car for any activity. The house is recently remodeled and well equipped. We were 2 families and everyone is thrilled to come back.

Perfect
We loved our stay at Talloires. The accommodation is well appointed, modern, clean and comfortable. It is in a great location very close to the lake and in the village where we found great restaurants, bakery and local produce shops. There is so much to see and experience in the area we could have spent months there.

This apartment was an inspired/perfect choice - it simply met and easily exceeded all of our hopes
The greeter was easily to talk to and very helpful
The location was fantastic - easy walking distance for a swim at the lake, they got the experience of a French village even a small market on one morning and SAFE. Naturally my son's family were nervous on their first overseas trip. Should also mention the boat trip to Annecy
My son was able to hire a nearby tennis court for his tennis mad kids
The apartment had everything - very comfortable and we even able to find space from my very active grandchildren. The garden was ideal and we had several unforgettable evening BBQ's admiring the scenery not to mention lunches looking at the multi coloured hang gliders

Perfect location for a wonderful holiday
Lovely, quirky village house and it is in the perfect location. Walking distance to a supermarket, a bakery and the lake. The views in the garden are stunning and the whole family spent hours sitting watching the paragliders soaring over the mountains.
My husband said to me one morning, " Did we die in the aeroplane and land in heaven? " He's pretty hard to please so let's just say....if you want to recharge and remember what life is all about, reconnect with family and nature, then this house in Talloire will give you all of that and more.

A very beautiful Old village House
We spent 3 weeks with our children and grand children who enjoyed very much the beautiful
Village of Talloires and we had ample room in the house. The grand children enjoyed the
Garden for play and we did for bbq and drinks while enjoying the view and change od colors
Over the mountains. We all enjoyed the lake and did a lot of swimming, canoeing etc. we
Would recommend the Cormoran to anyone who want a beautiful holiday near the lake and
If we go back to Talloires we would try to go back to the Cormoran. Thank you very much

Perfect family vacation in a lovely village house
My family and I had a great week in this lovely ancient house perfectly located in the center of Talloires. It is within walking distance from the lake, the tennis, and the shops, so our kids could enjoy total freedom. The house is entirely renovated and very well-equipped. It stays cool even in stiffling hot weather thanks to the thick walls. There is a large garage on the street level, very convenient to store the bikes and all the sports stuff. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor dining room in the backyard deck, with an outstanding view on the moutains. We all had our meals there, including wonderful barbecues. I would definitely recommand this rental.

Clean and tidy.Everything you need for a good family holiday.Adored the house
Stayed in house for 10 days in July. We all loved it. The house had everything you could need. It was well maintained and clean on arrival. We ate out a few times but the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes,pots etc and there was nothing better than sitting at the table in the back garden with a glass of wine with a fantastic view.
Location was amazing. I liked the feel of the town.
A 5 min walk down to lakeside. Kids loved it-You should definately try the paragliding.
We met the property manager the day after our arrival ,she was extremely helpful.
I would love to visit again . You can see how the owner must have fell in love with this house.

Gorgeous village house in a gorgeous village.
I am a cyclist and the area around Talloires is ideal with many rides accessible from the house - long, short, easy and hard. The house has a small garage which opens to the street and is perfect for storing bikes and doing any maintenance that might be needed. For members of your party who are not cycling enthusiasts there is plenty to do - the ferry around the lake, beach activities, cafés, restaurants, castles and markets, plus in Talloires itself, there is a cinema, mini-golf, tennis and sporadic exhibitions and gatherings. I would happily recommend this rental, both for the numerous activities available and the charming property, located in the heart of a vibrant and very pretty village.

Thanks to the charm of the property itself, the professionalism and kindness of the property owners, and of course gorgeous Talloires, we plan to live on Lake Annecy indefinitely. There isn't one straight line in this 18th century home, and that's part of what contributes to making it so perfect. It's incredibly charming, with tons of character. One can't help but feel right at home on arrival. The property is ideally located, within walking distance to everything Talloires has to offer, and sandwiched between two lovely, local neighbors. The house is spotless, the housekeeper is punctual, professional, efficient and also very kind, and the furnishings are all tasteful and comfortable. The linens are brand new, comfortable and fresh. I simply cannot recommend it highly enough. We are loathe to leave, but are only doing so because we are buying a home of our own nearby. I would recommend this home (and this town) without hesitation to absolutely everyone and anyone.
