Fantastic family house in a great location for relaxing and walking or cycling. House has plenty of room both inside and out. Brilliant views of Esthwaite water from the rear decking. We even had a regular evening visit by a beautiful Barn Owl. Would highly recommend.

Travelled up from Greater London. Arrived a week after the snow blizzard up North. Owner allowed us to check in early if we wished. We lost wifi connection on route as some of our journey was very rural. We had to call house manager as we couldn't locate the property in the dark as it is not clearly signed. Luckily we had just past it. Other family member travelled using direction provided by the owner. Unfortunately the final stretch of road to property was closed due to road works/flooding and they had to go all the other way around the lake. Once the struggle to get there was over we entered a beautifully laid out home. It was warm and welcoming and the ground floor bedroom was excellent as one of our party was on crutches.
In the morning we opened our curtains to spectacular views from every window. However the weather was against us so we spent most of our stay indoors playing games and watching TV. We left the property wishing we booked a longer stay and would visit the property again to explore the beautiful countryside.

And just a short walk to Beatrix Potters house .

Lowfold is away from the main tourist locations but close enough to charming villages with county pubs and shops .The accommodation is beautiful with each of four bedrooms spacious and comfortable. The view from the rear of the house is a surprise that will delight .Lots of pleasant walks all around including Beatrix Potters Hill Top . A perfect holiday for family and friends .

This property was absolutely amazing, and exceeded every expectation. Sarah was communicative, and really undersells how great the place is. It is only a few minutes from Near Sawrey, and a short walk from great places such as Beatrix Potter's home and the Tower Arms Inn.
Everything in the Lakes district is pretty close together and walkable, but having a car made our stay much more convenient to be able to avoid tourist crowds - just a warning, we highly recommend a small automatic due to many extremely winding narrow hilly roads.
If you're looking for a peaceful house with amazing views of pastures, waters, trees, and hills, this is definitely the place for you. We wish we could keep it a secret all to ourselves.

Walks, fishing, local pub, restaurants close by, children’s play area just 2 minutes stroll away and a top National Trust property within walking distance - LOWFIELD has it all. Comfy beds, TV’s in every room and a fully equipped kitchen just added to the delight of staying there. The view from the windows and terrace was one of the best you can hope for.

Absolutely great location, good facilities at the house, but the lounge suite needs replacing, very uncomfortable and in poor condition. Also was not cleaned to a satisfactory condition. We had to vac the property upon entry.

Property was in a nice location with lovely views in a peaceful area.
Host seemed friendly and responsive when contacted.
Although it was generally well provided for there were some frustrating things like doors that didn't shut properly and loose toilet seats. Biggest gripe was the lack of recycling on property which meant we had to bring glass, cardboard etc into Hawkshead.

Beautiful cottage and location
We had a wonderful stay in the Lakes. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We loved the location of the cottage with stunning views on to Ethswaite Water. It was try quiet and relaxing but still walking distance to Hawkshead and a great base to explore the Lakes. We would highly recommend this cottage and am sure will return one day.

birthday celebration
A family break with two of our party celebrating birthdays. Great base for driving around the lake district, some lovely walks nearby too.Lovely pub in the nearby village to go for dinner, and Hawkshead isn't too far away. The house was fine for us and, with the weather so cold,it was great to be able to sit by the fire of an evening. Good comms with the owner, and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful spot
Charming house, had everything we needed, bedrooms and bathrooms all gorgeous. The view from the outdoor terrace is stunning. The parking was tricky with 2 big cars tho so we made use of the overflow one 2 mins away. Had a great stay here, handy base for Lakes.

Comfortable, spacious, quiet location and lovely view.

Lovely property in great location
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely views also enhanced by snow and sunshine for us! Cottage has everything you need. Loved the log fire. Beds comfortable and linen & towels high quality. Only v minor downside is navigating the narrow driveway & limited to 2 cars, but parking also available up the road (very close-by). Thanks to Sarah - extremely helpful and responsive. Will definitely book again in the future.

Lovely peaceful home with beautiful views
The home is lovely and has plenty of space for a family reunion, with 4 bedrooms, a large sitting area, and big dining area. The views across the fields to Esthwaite Water were just wonderful, yet it's just a 5 minute walk to the local pub and Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's home. Yvette manages the property, and she went beyond the call of duty to get us sorted out when the telly went out over the weekend. It was a wonderful experience and we would happily stay here again.

Great location. Very comfortable. Excellent communication with owner.
We stayed at Lowfold for one week with extended family and had an amazing week. The accommodation was very comfortable for 4 adults and 4 children and had pretty much everything we needed. The location was central to many destinations we visited. We really enjoyed the bonus of using the fishing permits on Esthwaite Lake. The communication between the owner was excellent, very informative and helpful. We had a wonderful stay in the Lake District and would definitely recommend this property.

Superb
Can't fault this place. The communication with the owner was excellent and everything was perfect when we arrived. Loads of room, the bedrooms were airy and clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. We were very lucky as we had amazing weather every day so we made full use of the balcony and the awesome views.
Its a short walk from Hill Top and the local pub and a nice walk into Hawkhead down the lake.
Can't recommend highly enough, we will definitely try to come back.

Fantastic stay at Cottage Near Sawrey
I highly recommend this lovely cottage for a holiday with family or friends. The location is ideal, surrounded by peaceful countryside, beautiful views and a charming pub within a few minutes walk.
The cottage is equipped to a very high standard with extremely comfortable beds, luxurious bed linen, all mod cons and a nicely appointed kitchen. I particularly liked the deck/terrace and the private garden. We had a superb holiday and would definitely return.
