Eine Übernachtung auf dem Goldsteig

Alles bestens gelaufen - herzlichen Dank an Fam. Groß, so einen netten, freundlichen Empfang bekommt man heutzutage selten. Ruhige Lage, Schlafkomfort top. Essen hervorragend. Frühstück top. Preis-Leistung Verhältnis könnte nicht besser sein. Klare 10 Punkte von mir und absolute Weiterempfehlung!

Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden.

Gemütliche Unterkunft in idyllischer Lage

Ein sympathischer Familienbetrieb, bei dem sich jeder gern Zeit für die Gäste nimmt. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier definitiv. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich. Wir waren an einem kalten Wintertag hier, aber drinnen war es schön warm. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Cozy and nice location near forest

The room was quiet, cozy and had everything necessary. The breakfast was really nice. The lady was friendly as well.

We arrived a bit late so at first there was no one to open the door for us, but after some ringing we eventually got inside.

It was better when I could stay longer

Exceptional staff, exceptional location and very good breakfast. One of the best value for money ever received in many travels. Perfect place for recovering from noisy cities.

Great and quiet place to get back next time

The location is very quiet and comfy - in the woods Very quiet environment Good parking Breakfast buffet was ok The staff was very friendly and nice ( Very big thanks to the manager and to the owners ) The food in the restaurant was delicious and good Wifi was good Clean room Big room Price-performance ratio In 2 words : Very great place to stay, delicious beer and great food, fair prices and nice people like said before :)

Bavarian gem

What a fantastic Gasthof. 15 minutes drive of Autobahn 3 in the middle of nature. Very friendly and welcoming owner, great food, beer, cakes and breakfast. Do yourself a big favour and at least use it as a stopover. You will have an instant vacation feeling. We will definitely be back and will stay longer. Great area for hiking and biking as it is situated in one of the many Bavarian national parks. Again highly recommended. Out of this world price to quality ratio.

It was great for us travelling with our three dogs with plenty of space around for walking them, the food was traditional and very nice we were only passing through and needed a dog friendly hotel and we got exactly that

Great family run place located in the quiet woodland. Even though the hosts didn't speak English we found a way to communicate. I would highly recommend this place as a place to relax, enjoy nature, good food and beer.

Bit disappointing as compred to pre-Covid days

Good to be there again and the warm welcome.

I have stayed at this hotel many times on trips out and back from Austria. Its location is idyllic, the rooms comfortable and, in normal times, offering excellent Bavarian food. It fell short this time. Moderate food outbound (Tuesday). No food at all on return journey (Tuesday). No way of knowing this when booking. Breakfast not bad, but plated offering rather than the traditional German buffet of past years.

Owner very welcoming. We arrived after the stated check in time, so we called ahead and she left us the key in an agreed location. Location of the hotel is excellent - in the middle of the woods. Very quiet and relaxing.

Looked like it could be an authentic experience in remote villlages on the mountain

Feels very traditional and authentic. Locals were having a singing night in the restaurant, very interesting to see it.

Whilst close to motorway, it can feel very very remote. We also got in on a very rainy day, making the area appear out of Brothers Grimm story. Restaurant doesn’t have a menu, feels weird to not know what you’re getting. While ordering, the owner had an outburst at the kids who were playing with the pepper bags and slammed his fist on the table. Whilst it may be a cultural misunderstanding, that ruined the night as both kids and wife were scared of him afterwards. Ended up leaving without staying the night.

The staff was extremely friendly and the food was great. I would like to have stayed there not during COVID times. I think it would be a fun place to meet people at dinner and breakfast.

I didn't like that the lights turned off automatically, so each time you wanted to go downstairs or walk in the hallway you had to turn the lights on.
