Prestigious apartment suite in a 18th century building located in the historic center of Catania, with balconies overlooking the Duomo and the historic fish market.
The apartment is spread over 160 square meters with 5 m high ceilings and decorated antique floors and consists of:
2 huge bedrooms with a balcony of over 40 square meters each and intercommunicating. Both bedrooms are equipped with double bed, wardrobes and have a living area with table, chairs, armchairs, sofas and TV
1 room with balcony used as a dining / living area with large fully equipped kitchen
1 hallway with library with volumes on the history, architecture and archeology of Sicily.

We enjoyed six nights at this property as it provided a great base to explore Catania and the greater region. Our host Giovanni was excellent on communications and helpful suggestions, like parking our car in a secure private garage nearby. The 3rd floor apartment was super clean, quality furnished, and well cared for. We prepared most meals there, accessing fresh foods from the nearby open air fish market, which also had produce and meats, and a nearby wine store. The apartment had a great atmosphere to just sit back and relax in, with very high ceilings, lovely furniture, large kitchen, and four big glass double doors that each open onto balconies overlooking the neighborhood, taking in the tops of nearby historic churches. The grand piano was excellent as well, which I played every evening. Trains pass nearby, overhead of the market, but they don't run all night, mostly in the day. On the weekend, late night revelers were a bit boisterous, but we'd just shut the balcony doors. This was a great apartment to experience Catania from. Bravo!

It was an impressive apartment in terms of space, amount of art pieces, the piano and other cozy details. Kitchen is pretty well equipped. Washing mashine is also a big bonus. Perfect location.
One big disadvantage - it is VERY (I mean VERY) noisy outside (even if the windows are closed). So if you are sensitive to the noice, keep in mind.
Also, pillows could be more “sleepable”.

Absolutely stunning flat in ancient palazzo adjacent to the fascinating lively market and the Piazza Duomo with famous caffé Prestipino and easy walking distance to all Catania has to offer. Everything you need in renovated flat that has to be seen to be believed, with balconies surrounding. Cannot recommend more highly. Parking in front. Giovanni a responsive easy host. Definitely will tell my friends!

Giovanni was the most accommodating and thoughtful host. He went out of his way to accomodate our check-in and check-out times. The apartment was beyond stunning. The pictures do not do it justice! It is grand with beautiful views. It felt like a castle in the sky. The location is perfect, right near the big piazza and fish market!

We loved this stay. It’s in a very special ancient building and a quick walk to the center of things in Catania. It’s huge!
It’s not the place for making a bunch of home cooked meals - has amenities but they are basic. That worked for us as we were eating out the whole time and we were more interested in the character of the place vs a posh vacation.

Our stay in Catania, Sicily was a wonderful experience, thanks, in part to Giovanni’s beautiful apartment and his excellent hosting. He meet us when we arrived and helped us park our rental car (parking is important in Catania). He then came up to the apartment with us and gave us a tour. The apartment is airy, bright and spacious. It contains everything one would need to be comfortable including a washer and all kitchen implement needed to cook. The location is near the piazzas, the fish market, shops and restaurants. We rearranged our itinerary to stay in Catania on Saturday for the fish market, only a few steps away.
Catania is unique, colorful and a little chaotic. It was wonderful to have a safe, clean, lovely space to return to at the end of the day.

We just spent three wonderful nights at the Don Giovanni apartment in Catania. We were met at the apartment by Giovanni, who is absolutely delightful. The location is terrific, literally steps away from the historical fish market and the Duomo. The apartment is beautifully decorated, spacious, and has everything you need to feel at home. There are multiple balconies which let in great amounts of light, and there is air conditioning as well. The kitchen was well equipped. There was even bottled water in the refrigerator for us, which was a nice touch.
Since this is located just steps from the Duomo, it made for a great base of operations as we explored the city. And when it was time to leave, Giovanni met us at the apartment and helped us carry our luggage down to the street where our driver was waiting to take us to the airport. What a great added service!
I would highly recommend this apartment.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Don Giovanni. It was in a great location for restaurants, close to the Duomo and center. Although a stone throw from the fish market we did not notice any fish smell. The beds were comfortable with nice linen. Bathroom well stocked with hygiene product and towels. The kitchen was stocked with all essential wares to cook and the whole apartment was very clean. It was an easy access to the apartment with Giovanni. Although the neighborhood appeared to be a bit rough we found it to be safe and people were friendly.

The inside of this apartment is like stepping back in time into an elegant estate. The antique furnishings, especially the piano are exquisite . It’s a block away from the fish market and two blocks from the Cathedral. You can meander through little alleyways soaking in the history of the place. Thank you for an unforgettable stay.

The apartment is everything and more. The apartment itself is warm and inviting. We’ll equipped and sparkling clean. The master bedroom has high ceilings and a wonderful bed. But, the best part is how close you are to the fish market and the vibrancy of the loud and boisterous fish mongers and other market sellers. Plus you’re close to the the duomo and central piazza.

Charming apartment steps from the Piazza Duomo, lots of restaurants and the fish market. The last is the only downside as the smell can hit you when you exit the building, but don’t really smell anything inside.
Ceilings are huge and kitchen is fully ready to go. Would definitely stay there again.

What a wonderful experience for my partner and I, and another couple to stay here. The apartment is spacious, and "noble" indeed! Close to restaurants and to the historic center - a block away. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Enjoyed our Stay
This flat is exactly as pictured, and is very well equiped for cooking. La Pescheria market is a hundred meters or so away, and we bought fresh fish daily that we prepared in the flat. We really enjoyed the scale of the rooms: massive height in the ceilings makes these rooms feel very spacious and it doesn't feel crowded even with some large pieces of furniture in them. Bathrooms are modern and updated. This flat is very clean and tidy. There is some street noise from vehicles, but it didn't bother us. Giovanni pointed out an upstairs space with beds that would work for those bothered by the street noise. Giovanni gave an excellent orientation of the flat and how to operate everything and where to put the trash upon leaving. In sum, this is a wonderful, and central, place to stay when visiting Catania.

Giovanni’s condo is great!!! It’s located in a very central location; very easy to visit all main sights. The condo itself is beautiful and equipped with everything you need. Giovanni is super friendly and very responsive with questions I had. Very thankful to Giovanni for our wonderful stay!!!

Don Giovanni is the perfect Catania apartment. Extremely comfortable and within walking distance to all the sites. Giovanni is a great host, even helped book our taxi to the airport. Only regret is we didn’t stay longer. Next we will!

This is a rare find. A beautiful, first class, elegant apartment just a few blocks from the historic heart of Catania. The owners were extremely helpful and the property was sparkling clean and recently updated. The location is extremely convenient. No car is necessary. Can’t say enough nice things about the property or its owners. I will definitely be back.

Don"t want to tell you about this place. Want to keep it all for myself, it's that good. Giovanni is an excellent host, obviously a cultured and gentle person, such a contrast to the boisterous and loud activity in the streets below the apartment! I don't want to tell you about the apartment, it is too beautiful, fit for a King and his Queen. Modern, classy, tastefully decorated. and exceptionally equipped. Very near Catania's main fish/fruit/vegetable/meat/cheese/everything market, the neighborhood is a fascinating chaotic wonderful mess. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place
I booked Giovanni’s place for a group of 4 and it was the perfect size. Loved how both bedrooms had their own balconies. Giovanni was very knowledgeable with things to do in the area and and other useful information. Located within 15 minute walk to the train station we were able to commute to Taormina and Syracuse effortlessly.
I will be staying here again on my next visit.

We had a lovely 8 day stay. The apartment was spacious, well-appointed, safe and centrally located. It was perfect for us as a base location; spacious, near many restaurants and a few steps from the fish market and the Duomo. Don Giovanni was incredibly gracious - welcoming us with biscuits and very thoughtful - checking in with us occasionally. Would highly recommend the lovely apartment.

Palace with love
Giovanni is most polite, generous, and respectful host. His home pop palace and believe me it’s most amazing apartment I have ever stayed in. The history the style the opulence are wow !!!! It’s across from the main markets and enter of town just 2 minutes walk. The security is beyond safe and to a tee. The neighbourhood offers little restaurants, bars, and bakeries that are to die for. It’s a must stay place

Giovanni’s place
Huge apartment, with a fabulous location. Right next to The Fish Market (which has more than just fish- fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and cheese). It is around the corner from the Duomo and the center of town. Very comfortable and quiet apartment with windows shut. It would have been noisy if they had been open. We would stay there again.

The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was very well equipped, comfortable, very beautiful, clean, and in a great location. Parking was not a problem, nor was noise despite the fish and vegetable markets on the street below. There were several good restaurants within walking distance. I am missing it already and we just left.

A memorable stay!!
What a great experience my wife & I had staying in Don Giovanni's palatial apartment. Waking every morning to the hustle & bustle of an old world iconic fish market that one must experience and observable from our window. Don Giovanni had the apartment well stocked with all you might need & more. A 3 minute walk past the fish market to the Piazza del Duomo, located in the heart of the city where there are many restaurants and outdoor cafes for great food and people watching. We drove to Don Giovanni's apartment & parking proved to be an experience and as stated earlier go with flow and view it as a cultural adventure. As veteran travelers it could be possibly one of our most memorable stays. Thank you Don Giovanni for letting us be part of Catania's lively lifestyle.

Right in the heart of it all!
We enjoyed the location overall , fish market experience each morning, the very nice apartment with little extras left for us. The parking is fun, unique and mysterious. Just go with the flow! Thank you for letting us live like a local for a couple of days!
