We are not a resort, Stoneyhill is a private Estate where you come to enjoy the REAL Caribbean. We are there to assist you in all your needs. At the same time respect your privacy.

Don’t think about this cottage, just book it! The property is absolutely gorgeous. Surrounded by Carribean views & beautiful flowers. It’s a great place to really connect to nature. Karol is above spectacular!! She made sure that we had everything we needed for a suburb stay!!!! The area beaches are great

I loved my 3-weeks in Karol and Merve’s new Stoneyhill Cottage. So peaceful, with panoramic views of the ocean, hilly green countryside, nightly sunsets, colourful flora and delightful fauna. My private pool was perfect, with an ideal temperature to cool off, swim a few lengths, and just enjoy the sun and tropical surroundings.
I enjoyed the daily opportunity to sit out and read on the cottage’s large covered porches with steady breeze, and grand views, a rare treat. The many birds and small geckos were a constant entertainment. The property, filled with colourful florals, palm trees, and exotic fruits, was always unique and interesting to explore. Orchestrations of tiny island frogs would lull me to sleep each night. The entire stay was a delight!
Practicalities:
Location – great, less than 10-min drive to Jolly Harbour’s many conveniences, and to numerous beaches. Entrance to the property is straight up-and-down on a rutted dirt road but certainly manageable. I didn’t get a car. Karol was kind enough to take me shopping on several occasions when needed.
Cottage – Well equipped, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Good mattress, comfortable furniture inside and out. Great shower. Everything you could want to cook full meals (with ample counter-space, large & small appliances, utensils, pots & pans, storage containers, plates & platters). There’s a large new barbeque with utensils for private use by the pool and a great palapa with fully equipped wet-bar (no drinks provided) and eating area. I love to cook and made wonderful meals here.
Entertainment and Tech – good WiFi inside and out. TV had Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube.
Security – I am a woman and travelled on my own. I had no worries at the cottage or on the island.
Hosts – Karol and Merve were outstanding. They greeted me on arrival, and went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. Thanks!

Antiqua has so many nooks and crannies to explore, not to mention all those great beaches. We loved our cottage and its location. Quiet with lovely, lovely views of the island Montserrat. There is an outstanding grocery store nearby...that was terrific for us as we prefer to cook in. The cottage's kitchen, while small, was SO well set up with every tool or pan needed. And, I had no doubt that, if I needed something, Karol and Merv would share from their own kitchen.
The cottage sits among a total of three similar cottages, but feels very private. Karol has a real touch in decorating with so many thoughtful pieces. Her linens and towels were fantastic and generous. And, if we needed a change in paradise, we could (a) take the short walk down to the pool and cabana area complete with music, lighting, grill, and glasses for our own bottle of wine or rum & tonic or (b) take a short drive to a host of nearby white sand beaches.
I wouldn't hesitate to urge anyone visiting Antigua to take a load off there.

Carol and Merv are great friendly people! The cottage had all of the necessities and the property is well maintained. The veranda is spacious, private, and has a great view of the sea and mountainside. A vehicle is recommended to get to and from nearby beaches, grocery store, and restaurants. We arranged a rental through Carol and it was at the cottage when we arrived. We are already planning our next visit. Thanks for a great time Carol and Merv - see you again!

My partner and I stayed for 10 nights and were absolutely thrilled with our stay. Karol and Merve are absolute gems! They are perfect hosts, happy to help in any way they can while being careful in respecting your privacy. The grounds are spotless and cottage was perfect for a romantic get away. A car is helpful if you want to to dine out, shop or tour beaches if you are just wanting R&R you will love resting on the porch with breath taking ocean views and watching the beautiful birds! We have beautiful memories of our stay!!

We recently returned from Karol and Merv's place and we simply fell in love with it! The views are amazing! The cottages are clean and beautifully decorated with everything you need. We enjoyed every evening sitting on the expansive deck just taking in the views, the landscape and the breezes. We honestly could not have imagined a more ideal location! The pool and pool house are perfect! You are just minutes from beautiful beaches, great restaurants and a grocery store for necessities. Best of all, as you will read in so many reviews, are Karol and Merv. They are the kindest people and we enjoyed every opportunity to chat with them and learn more about them and how they have built such an amazing place. They were absolutely wonderful and helpful to us. We are already scheduled to return. They get our highest recommendation! Lastly, the island of Antigua exceeded our expectations! The beaches we visited were just gorgeous, the terrain is stunning and the people were all so kind and welcoming. One of our favorite trips to the Caribbean to date!

We’re not too much in favor of cruises or all-inclusives and like to meet an interesting person or two, both local and from afar when we travel.
In all these respects Carol and Merv’s Stoney Hill Cottages suited us down to the ground. First, the three separate cottages, which are essentially roomy studios with immense wrap-around balconies that pose stunning views of the cove, the turquoise sea and Montserrat in the distance.
A short walk down the hill finds you in the mutual cabana and bar area where one can barbecue and join Carol and other guests (as one wishes) with the pool and its stunning view. She and Merv are exceptional hosts; they know when to leave one alone and when to step in with good suggestions.
We didn’t rent a car, but had a driver for one or two trips, and joined fellow guests for a sail around Antigua and a meal at a nearby gourmet restaurant. Otherwise, we were quite content to spend a day on our balcony, just appreciating how fortunate we are. This was brought into sharp focus when we made the trip to Barbuda, still largely decimated by Hurricane Irma. What a magnificent people! They are spiritually uplifting.
When it comes to a journey that meets our liking, Stoney Hill Cottages fit the bill. Judging by the number of return visitors, it suits many others, too.

My husband and I just got back from our stay with Karol & Merve at Stoneyhill Studios. We didn't want to leave. We had an absolutely fantastic vacation – we left our perfect little apartment and Antigua incredibly relaxed and extremely happy people. Our studio apt served us so well for 9 nights. When Karol showed us into our unit I lost count how many times we said "WOW" when we saw the view from our balcony. Well, "balcony" isn't the right word – it's a HUGE L-shaped wrap around covered piece of heaven with loungers, a hammock and a dining room table. With stunning views which we never tired of.
The studios are spotlessly clean. And well equipped. The pool & bar/BBQ area is a fabulous gathering place at the end of the afternoon for a chilly beverage before making dinner.
Stoneyhill is quiet and peaceful – yet close to several beautiful beaches. Our biggest decision each day was which beach we wanted to go to. The well stocked grocery store is a short drive away.
What a truly special place this is and Karol and Merve are delightful and considerate hosts. We are so grateful for the fantastic, and well needed vacation. Thank you. We will be back!

We stayed Jan 15 to 20, 2019 and absolutely LOVED the place. The cottages are very clean, comfortable and perfectly situated with sweeping views of the hillside and sea. We enjoyed our coffee on the HUGE balcony in the morning while being visited by cute, friendly birds and watched the sunsets there in the evening. There is also a lovely pool & bar area. Just so much positive, I can't list it all.
The place is quiet and just a few minutes drive to anything you could want.. beautiful beaches, supermarket, restaurants, etc.
And on top of all those wonderful things, there is Karol and Merv. <3 Karol arranged a car rental for us, airport transfers, a local phone to use while there and really made us feel like family. :o) Really amazing people.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The cottages are lovely, clean and have everything that you need. Karol and Merv are great hosts and cannot do enough for you. Even offered to arrange collection from the airport and car rental. They lent me a local cell phone to use during our stay, they played lovely relaxing music by the pool bar, they lent us a mask and snorkel so that I could join in with my girls. We made full use of the pool and poolside BBQ which made life easier feeding my 2 fussy eaters. Karol gave us some good advice on places to go and places to eat. The cottages are set in a lovely quiet and tranquil location so very relaxing. Beautiful beaches on their doorstep, Darkwood beach has a lovely big inflatable water park and not far from Jolly Harbour and the supermarket. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Stoneyhill for a week of much needed solitude, rest and relaxation. The apt. was lovely, clean, tastefully decorated, with everything that I could need (coffee maker, microwave, TV, radio etc) and I was delighted at how spacious it was & the deck was fabulous! I spent many hours enjoying the view from my hammock when I wasn't enjoying the great pool. The gardens are beautiful and it is a very peaceful setting with the sounds of nature complete with a tropical breeze. A wonderful place to unwind!
Karol and Merve are simply the best! Two of the loveliest people that you could ever hope to meet and fabulous hosts. From the time that you are warmly welcomed, you feel like you have been good friends for years & they are your great neighbors. They're always willing to help with whatever you need to make your stay more pleasant, whether its information about the island, recommendations about what to see & do or simply turning on the radio down at the pool so you can listen to tunes while you lounge in the sun, they genuinely care about you & your stay with them in Antigua.
I am telling everyone that if they go to Antigua, they should stay with Karol & Merve. I am planning to return ASAP so that I can do more of a tourist vacation instead of just R&R; Stoneyhill is ideal for either. If you are seeking a comfortable vacation of peace & tranquility in a gorgeous setting, you found it. If you want to enjoy a beautiful island & have a fabulous place to stay, you found it. The beaches nearby are incredible; clean & the water is crystal clear. I can't wait to see more of them!

We've been in Antigua in the 2009, and we've been stayed for more than 3 weeks. We were lucky to find and choose this place, cause Stoneyhill is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed at; Now We consider It as our second home and Karol&Merve - They're THE BEST - as our second family!!! :) The cottages are fantastic, spacious, clean, romantic, and beautifully decorated! They're furnished with all necessaries you would need during your vacation! There's the microwave, the kitchenette, the coffee maker. There's also the tv and the stereo, but I'm sure that You won't need them. :) The cottages are situated on the southwest side of the island, where you can find the most beautiful beaches, like Jolly Harbour beach (there's also an excellent supermarket in Jolly harbour), Coco Beach, Ffryes Beach (Located at Fryes point on the West Coast of Antigua), Valley Church Bay (my favourite). I definetely reccomend this place. It's better than a 5 stars suite. Finally there are plenty of things and beaches to see. You can just rent a 4x4 and explore the island. (in 3 weeks we visited more or less 20 beaches - if you book a hotel room, for a whole week You'll just see one beach!!!).

Myself and my boyfriend recently stayed at one of Karol & Merve's hillside cottages and were hugely impressed with our stay. We've stayed in a number of private rentals in the Caribbean and stoneyhill without doubt provides the best value for money out there. The open plan apartments are large and airy and fitted out beautifully, the terrace is equally spacious with hammock and lots of seating and the view of the ocean and Monserrat is stunning (particularly at sunset). You have access to a chic little pool, sun terrace and bar area with the same five star view and Karol & Merve are fantastic hosts, we really enjoyed sharing a few drinks with them at the bar in the evening and were sad to say goodbye! That said, if you're looking for solitude, this is also the perfect place, there are only 3 cottages and you're also within walking distance of some of the most beautiful and quietest beaches on the island. We didn't have a car as we were on a tight budget and were happy to walk the 10 minutes down to the main road where you could get a bus to the nearby supermarket or into town but to really explore the island you're probably best of renting a four wheeled drive.

We stayed in stoney hill for 11 days and was the better solution that we could find in Antigua.The apartament was very clean,full equipped,baeutifull romantic style,veranda is very nice and big with fantastic amaca and great view to darkwood beach and Montserrat.
The owners Karol and Merve are really very kind person that they will make you feel like in home and in family.Always they can help you with what you can need.We love stay to them and sure that we will come back in stoney hill more soon how is possible.We reccomanded it a lot...

Just got back from a 3 day stay at Stoneyhill.
As a seasoned traveller I have to state that this is THE most beautiful, romantic place I have ever stayed.
Stoneyhill consists of 3 large self contained studios, with a shared swimming pool, bar and BBQ area.
Studio was clean, beautifully decorated and so peaceful, all you hear are the sounds of nature.
My favourite part of our holiday was lying on the veranda in the hammock, cool rum punch in hand, feeling the tropical breeze, and looking out at the lush green hills, Darkwood beach and in the distance the smoking volcano of Monserrat.
Jolly Harbour is a mere 5 minute drive, there is a large supermarket there, also restaurants, and the lively Jolly Beach.
If you prefer a quieter beach Darkfood and Ffryers are also just 5 minutes away.
You definately need a 4x4 to get up the steep, stoney hill - but this was arranged by Carol and Merv for a very reasonable price.
Driving up was fun everytime and felt like a real adventure.
Nothing was too much trouble, you are treated like an old friend, but given complete privacy too.
On the last night we were even invited to a BBQ party down at the pool which was lovely.
Am booking my next stay as soon as possible !

Carol and Merve – thank you so much for three beautiful days on Antigua. During our whole trip (6 ½ weeks Caribbean Islands-Tour) your place was the nicest and definitely the cleanest one (it was the only apartment where I did not use my disinfection pads…), very tastefully furnished, with a comfortable bathroom and all the comfort one can expect! We really enjoyed our stay very much and we will definitely come back as soon as possible!
Even though we did not have much time to spend with you on Antigua, you let us see and experience so many things we won’t forget!!! Bunny & The Wailers live in concert , the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen, a spontaneous birthday-dinner, me giving up smoking (works out until today), discovering the island with a 4x4 jeep…

Karol and Merv, thank you so much for a perfect 5 days in Antigua. Our studio was perfect. Everything you would need for a luxurious self catering break. Spotlessly clean, well maintained, fluffy towels, lovely candles, (Tour de France on cable for Paul), tea in the cupboard, what more could you ask for. Oh yes, wonderful views, AC, hammock, near to big supermarket. Even nearer to the most perfect beaches - especially loved Ffryes, and the beach bar. AND the best hosts you could wish for. Our plane was delayed and we did not get to the supermarket in time to buy food. Karol had cooked rice and chicken and insisted we had some too - you don't get that sort of service in a 5* hotel. Merv isn't a bad cook either, chicken and dumpling soup was the best meal we had in Antigua! I could go on and on. The studio is ideally situated for visiting the Island, you will need a 4x4 to get up the drive, but you need one anyway as the roads on the island are full of potholes. Karol arranged the jeep for us, at an excellent rate, and made sure we were picked up from the airport. When we go back to Antigua we would not dream of going anywhere else. We visted Stoney Hill in March and had an absolutely wonderful time, a holiday to remember, in fact we both said we could have stayed much longer. The apartment was beautful, very nicely furnished with French doors opening onto a veranda which wrapped around the property giving stunning views of Darkwood Beach. It was so peaceful and relaxing we could have sat out there all day watching the colourful birds, in the evening the sunsets were special. Jolly Harbour was within a few minutes drive were we found a well stocked Supermarket for all our needs and also a small shopping centre with Bank, Restaurants and an Information Centre. There were many beautiful Beaches close by with Ffryes and Darkwood just at the bottom of the hill. We found Antigua easy to navigate, Nelsons Dockyard and English Harbour are well worth a visit and St. Johns is a good day out just watch the one way systems. Karol and Merv were wonderful hosts, very helpfull and welcoming I would not hesitate in recommending Stoney Hill and hope to see them again sometime.
