AMAZING.
We have just returned from an amazing stay at Brunthwaite Cottage. Lynne met us on arrival and showed us around the cottage with it’s well stocked kitchen. The fridge was full of milk , butter wine, fruit juice and other breakfast goodies plus lots of coffee , tea etc. throughout the kitchen. It had everything you could possibly want for a stay and the dogs loved it too. We have stayed in many cottages in this area and this is by far the best. Such a comfortable place , just wish we could have stayed longer. Already planning and looking forward to our next visit.

Brunthwaite Cottage
This property is absolutely lovely and very comfortable. It could not be equipped any better, everything you need to have a really great stay. The kitchen is amazing with plenty of cooking utensils, crockery in fact, everything you would need. We were supplied with the basics, milk, bread, butter etc. and the owner even offered to do shopping prior to our arrival. Lynne was very friendly, bringing fresh baked scone to us on our second day. She was willing to help with anything we needed. She went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. She even delivered us an Anniversary card as we had mentioned it to her. Lynne, John and Charlie were the perfect hosts. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great family accommodation
Lovely property with loads of everything (towels, utensils, plates, glasses etc). Great location to visit the surrounding areas (Skipton, llkley, Bolton Abbey, Haworth) and nice stroll into local village with good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs! In the property was a very good welcome pack and had lots of extras available for guests.

Quiet edge of town spot
Clean, tidy, comfortable small house which we used as a base to see the southern Yorkshire Dales, walking etc. Lynne was a helpful host, made sure we had what we needed; smooth process etc. Property was comfortable and as described, plenty of info available on local area, restaurants, amenities. We didn't cook much at the house but found it easy to get clothes washing and drying done. SkyTV also available if you just want a quiet evening in.
Silsden has a range of restaurants and takeaways if needed - short drive or 10 mins walk. We also ate out in Addingham; Ilkley and Skipton also nearby.
Some great walking from here (incl. along the canal if you're not keen on hills), esp into the Dales and moors. Many local museums. Cliffe Castle had surprisingly wide content.

Beautiful peaceful get away
We had a fantastic time at the cottage which is located on the outskirts of Silsden. The cottage is in the country with just the sounds of sheep, cows and birds surrounding you. However it was only a few minutes drive to the town which had a major Coop and Aldi, some nice pubs, quick access to the major roads taking you to the tourist atractions nearby and plenty of take away and sit down restaurants which deliver to the cottage. We can recommend the purple garlic indian and George's Place chinese which were both superb, very generous portion size and great value.
The cottage was very well equipped with an excellent kitchen and lovely lounge area. Lynne was a great host, welcoming us on day 1 and gave us some great suggestions for things to do.
We would certainly be happy to stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family as a perfect retreat from a busy life.

Perfect holiday location
An excellent location, quiet and secluded but with everything you need located a short walk away in Silsden. Great walks in and around Silsden but also a short drive to Skipton, Bolton Abbey, Malham and Brimham Rocks. The cottage was clean, owners were very friendly and more than happy to help or give advice about the local area.

Great location, well equipped accommodation but very creaky and no soundproofing
Lynne was a great host, the house was clean with everything you could need. The kitchen was beyond well equipped and the items left for our arrival, included a nice bottle of wine were a lovely touch.
A really difficult review to write based on my giving 5*s for all the key elements. The issue we had was that the house itself had been constructed in a way that means really limited sound proofing between upstairs and downstairs and the upstairs floors creaked with every movement, even turning in bed in the night is noisy, even though we bought ear plugs to help! If you are a small family unit it's not such a problem perhaps but if not, eg we were with my aunt, then sitting in the lounge listening to someone upstairs run the bath, then get into the bath and then splashing about isn't great. All conversations downstairs could be heard upstairs too. Please take this review based on your own priorities, and if none of the negatives bother you then this is a really lovely place to stay.

Fabulous weekend away with friends in a beautiful cottage.
We had a lovely weekend away and nothing was too much trouble for Lynn. Lots of little touches in the cottage, including the basics you would need for you stay.
A stunning location and a great base to explore areas around Yorkshire. We managed to visit Bolton Abbey, Skipton and Haworth during our short stay here.
We highly recommend this property and we will definitely be returning in the future.
Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Great property with lovely hosts, only downfall was not fenced off enough for dogs in the garden
Great property with lovely hosts, the only downfall was it was not fenced off enough for our dogs in the garden, so dogs kept getting past the bins and into the road with cars passing. Though if you have dogs that don't need a lead this property is perfect :)

Delightful cottage, perfect location
We had a lovely break here in Silsden. The cottage is perfect for a family, really clean and absolutely everything we needed. Fridge goodies including wine were a really nice surprise. Location ideal for getting about all around the Dales. The village itself is charming. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful.

A gorgeous cottage within easy reach of the Dales
This is a beautiful traditional stone cottage with clean, attractive interior, good sized rooms, a very generously stocked kitchen and equally generous number of towels and bathroom treats. We had a really lovely 4 days here, walking in the Dales and easily catering for five and relaxing in the lounge every evening. The high street is a 10 min walk away with lots of restaurants and local shops, including a very welcoming wine bar! And the house is super warm and cosy, with plenty of space for a family. The third bedroom does have a very low ceiling beam which makes it hard for an adult to stand up, so definitely more suitable for a child. But the house really is lovely and very easy to live in, I would highly recommend it.

Wow! What a wonderful cottage!
The Cottage is beautiful and incredibly well equipped. It is set in the midst of glorious countryside and there are some lovely walks in the area. All this is reinforced by our hosts, Lynne, John and Ollie (our canine friend), for whom nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel very welcome, were so friendly, and definitely added to our enjoyment of this lovely part of the world. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Brunthwaite Cottage to any potential renters. Thank you so much to our new friends, Lynne, John and Ollie.

PERFECT BREAK AT BRUNTHWAITE COTTAGE
We have just returned from a wonderful 4 night break at this lovely cottage. Nothing was too much trouble from the lovely owners Lynne and John who went above and beyond to help us plan and organise our trip. We were welcomed warmly by Lynne who showed us around the cottage and had even prepared some little welcome goodies in our fridge for us. They helped with advise of walks and local places/things to do, Lynne even went to the trouble to take my daughter and I to our horseriding lesson one morning which was so kind. The cottage was perfect for the four of us and our little dog, it was spotless and there were a great selection of games too! We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to be back soon. Thank you so much! Kelly, Dan, Emily, Harrison and Groot xx

A fabulous home from home, very well equipped & dog friendly with an amazing host !
Brunthwaite Cottage is extremely well equipped and in a beautiful part of West Yorkshire with amazing scenery all around. Being a dog friendly cottage it encourages you to bring your 4 legged friends with you and explore some of the fabulous walks nearby. The Cow & Calf at Ilkley Moor has some amazing and far reaching views. Lynne is an amazing host and nothing is too much trouble for her.
We would love to return to Brunthwaite Cottage to explore more of ‘God’s own country’ ! Mike & Viv Haynes, Milly & Louis ( Jack Russell & Labradoodle ) 31/12/19

Very nice cottage
The cottage is very comfortable and clean (flowers all around). It is well decorated as well. There is everything you can need (washing machine, drying rack, hoover, dishwasher (and tablets for it), pans, boiler, microwave, oven, puzzles, books, ...).
The location is nice, there are a lot of walks you can do around. The neighbourhood is very calm.
The host are really nice and friendly. They make everything to make you feel well. They've answered all the questions we had before coming and explained everything when we arrived. There were many little things that make the arrival more easy (bread, coffee, ...)
We sincerely recommend it.

Lovely, comfortable cottage well situated to enjoy the Dales!
Our family recently spent a week at Brunthwaite Cottage and couldn't have had a lovelier time. The cottage was spacious, clean and well-equipped. It is conveniently located in Brunthwaite which is beautiful and quiet and well-positioned for accessing the Dales, and Skipton and Harrogate. Lynne and John (and Ollie, their dog!) couldn't have been better hosts--friendly, helpful and responsive. We look forward to our return!

Just perfect!
I spent three of the most perfect Yorkshire months in Brunthwaite. The cottage was perfect for me and allowed me to have visitors come from London and stay briefly.
Of course, Yorkshire weather being what it is was "bracing". The owners, and their delightful dog, and all the neighbours were really most welcoming.
Ideally the Dales National Park is not far away but the walks up onto the moors above Brunthwaite, and over to ilkley, or down to the Leeds Liverpool canal are excellent.
Altogether a restorative and peaceful stay. Thanks to all for their kindness, and to Ollie for the intelligent conversation ;-)
Yorkshire history, for those unfamiliar with it, is simply remarkable. Catch the train to York, or explore the Dales. Just amazing. Be adventurous. But then I'm from Yorkshire!

Idyllic little find.
This little gem was everything we wished for our new year get away. Hidden in the beautiful countryside, you instantly relax when you see it. The cottage is perfectly cosy, and the views are amazing. The cottage itself was warm, clean and a real home from home. Lynne is the perfect host, and bakes beautiful cakes!!!
The location of this place is also perfect. We had 2 small children, and there is plenty around to keep the little Ines occupied. We particularly enjoyed the steam engines 20 minutes away in Howarth, and the breathtaking walk at Bolton Abbey. Will defiantly plan to return!!!!

Yorkshire Hospitality at its best
House was as described, warm and welcoming. Hospitality and availability of the little things that make self catering easy first class. The third bedroom is really only suitable for younger/smaller kids as the roof is very low. We had to turn the heating off at night as the boiler is also in this room but the house held the heat and easily warmed up in the morning. The only booking concerns we had were that smoking was not banned and pets were welcome but the house was spotless and odourless. Ideal for easy access to Ilkley, Keithley, Haworth and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Quietly location but within 10 mins of shops and takeaways. We'll definitely be booking again.

Superb service and care
Lovely, very well equipped cottage with exceptionally kind owners. Lynne helped us so much in our hour of need! There is everything you could wish for in the kitchen and it was a delight to cook there. All the beds and bedding were very good quality as were all the towels and kitchen items. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and is very handy for all local amenities. Thank you so much.

Lovely, tranquil and relaxing.
We totally loved Lynne's property and she made us feel very welcome. The house was gorgeous and warm and probably the most comfortable we've been in for the duration of our holiday. Highly recommended!

We arrived in the early evening after a tiring traffic delayed journey to a very warm welcome from the owner and an beautifully presented and sparkling clean house ready for our family weekend. It had lots of extra 'goodies' to surprise us when we opened the kitchen cupboards and the fridge. There was also a good supply of towels, kitchen crockery and cutlery, pans, gadgets and a dishwasher which meant it felt like a 'home from home'. There was good off road car parking too! It was a great location for us as a three generation family as we have friends in Burley in Wharfedale, Brunthwaite and Silsden and we wanted to show the children (6 and 3yrs) the special family places and spaces in Ilkley and the surrounding area. So much to do in the area!

We were in need of a temporary home to bridge the gap between selling and buying a house and Brunthwaite cottage fitted the bill perfectly. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and equipped with many home comforts. The location was ideal for access to shops in Silsden and Ilkley, and of course the beautiful surrounding countryside and the Dales. And although Lynne and John were away for most of our stay they kept in touch by email to make sure we were OK and continue to forward stray pieces of post. We would highly recommend this property to friends and family.

Brunthwaite cottage is a little gem ,from the moment we arrived to the moment we left this little cottage was perfection with a capital P. On arriving Lynne greeted us with the warmest of welcomes and made sure that throughout our stay we wanted for nothing even bringing fresh homemade scones and mincepies on Christmas morning, nothing was to much. ill be booking again for this Christmas and next.

A perfect cottage and location for a family or couples holiday. I stayed here with my Husband and 2 year old son. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you need for your stay, it is spotlessly clean, warm and cosy! A real home from home. The location is set in beautiful Yorkshire countryside, and is a perfect base for the many local attractions. The owners (Lynne & John) are the perfect hosts, and are always on hand of you need anything, or just want some recommendations or advice about the local area. I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing holiday whilst still having the comforts you require. Mrs Lomax

The cottage is well appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. Lynne was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Silsden is a nice town and Ilkley is not too far away. Betty's is an experience not to be missed.

The cottage was a great centre for visiting various places such as Brimham Rocks, East Riddlesden Hall and Bolton Abbey, all of which had excellent Easter egg hunts for the grandchildren. Two visits to Howarth with up-close encounters with the steam train. The weather was superb and the whole area looking great. The living/dining area of the cottage is an excellent space. The cottage is characterful and well appointed. Thanks to Lynne for all her help.
