Paradise in the warm months, unique experience, exclusive, unforgettable in cold ones, "Trullo of Jay" is a property - opened in June 2016 - which is about two kilometers from the old town in Alberobello, a small town of Puglia, famous throughout the world as "Capital of Trulli" and recognized "world Heritage" by UNESCO. The lucky guests who will have the pleasure of welcoming, staying in a beautiful trullo of the eighteenth century, completely restored and renovated using the original site and the ancient techniques of the masters "trullari" passed down from generation to generation materials. Al Trullo is attached a "lamia", also totally refurbished and equipped with every comfort.
"Trullo of jay" is recommended for couples and families who want to spend an unforgettable holiday in Alberobello in total relaxation, surrounded by old oak trees, olive trees, walnut, fig and fruit, in a secluded property with a pool private. You will be a few hundred meters from ' "Protected Natural Oasis of Bosco Selva", undulating hilly wooded area of more than fifty hectares, equipped with guided trails, picnic areas, children's playground, horse riding, mountain biking.
In the largest trullo you will find a comfortable living room with sofa, TV-SAT, DVD player and other amenities; the smallest Trullo is a very intimate dining room. The kitchen, with its characteristic vaulted stone ceiling, is housed in what was an old wood stove, fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, oven (including microwave), kettle, toaster etc.
The double bedrooms, both with original stone walls, are elegantly furnished with the simplicity of rural style and include air conditioning and TV. There is the possibility, on request, both cradle of extra bed in the rooms.
Trullo in the Jay is also a feature "rumpus" enclosed in what was an old well, below, completely renovated. Always dry, cool in hot and warm in those cold months, the tavern is still equipped with a small window from which come both air and natural light and is decorated in rustic style; It sleeps opening the sofa bed and possible additional bed, up to three guests. Also in this room is available air conditioning with heat pump and TV.
The comfortable bathroom, finally, is also equipped with every comfort for guests who will have the pleasure of staying.
The area of relevance to the pool contains a characteristic wooden pergola with stone columns under which you can rest lying in the shade or enjoy succulent dishes of grilled meat at the nearby barbecue or in the wood oven. All this in the strictest and unforgettable contact with nature.
Guests are welcomed by the owners with a welcome basket containing local products as well as its own production of oil and wine. We'll show you how to achieve both near the center of Alberobello, places of interest and utility.
For the cold months, all the rooms are equipped with heating with radiators, in addition to the heat pumps.
Staying in Alberobello is the optimal solution for visiting the Puglia and many places of tourist interest that surround it, each with its characteristic uniqueness.
You are in the real heart, button and more exclusive in Puglia, in the "Land of the Trulli" which includes the entire area extending from Alberobello up to all the municipalities of the "Valle d'Itria."
Alberobello is very close to the "Pearl of the Baroque" of Martina Franca, the beautiful Locorotondo, the "White City" of Ostuni, Cisternino (called "One of the most beautiful villages in Italy), in Noci, Ceglie, excellence in all ' food and wine.
In addition to these beautiful places, you can choose to spend your days visiting the nearby Castellana Grotte, Fasano Zoosafari the exciting "Fasanolandia" or the fishing villages of Polignano a Mare, Monopoli with its hamlet "Chapter", enchanting both day that evening. If you feel so inclined, you can also visit Bari (Apulia's capital region) and Taranto, "City of the Two Seas" and capital of the Magna Grecia.
In short, if you are looking for a route that can combine relaxation of the holiday to the interest for the history and culture, Apulia is the perfect place. The territory of ancient Apulia preserves traces of the glorious people of the past. This is a hospitable land. Some people wanted to conquer it; others have arrived seeking refuge and hospitality; others landed peacefully; others stopped attracted by the mild climate. Messapi, Greeks, Romans, Goths, Byzantines, Lombards, Saracens, Normans, Swabians, French, Spanish and many other peoples over the centuries have meant that the Pugliesi embody the fullness of humanity and anyone standing between Pugliesi, you feel at home.
As you eat in Puglia? Just ask those who have already experienced: I will answer that in Apulia there is culture, art and civilization of eating well. The taste of the sea and the earth are exalted in recipes that only in Puglia are expressed in all their delicacy. The bread baked in a wood oven, the homemade pasta made with durum wheat flour, vegetables grown a few steps from the sea, grapes and cherries, the extra virgin olive oil, almond sweets !!! Beans and chicory, "orecchiette" seasoned with "turnip", "ears" with fresh tomato sauce and "ricotta cheese", cavatelli with vegetables, seafood, linguine with clams, grilled fish, eggplant parmigiana, roasted peppers, zucchini poverella, mozzarella, burrata, caciocavallo ... and wine, the wine of extraordinary quality.

Outstanding outside space and traditional inside the Trulli all set in quiet Italian countryside.Close to the centre so easy to get everything and lots and lots of sightseeing available, great host Perfect

We have just returned from our two week holiday at this lovely villa. The hosts were friendly and very helpful, assisting us with car hire and giving us suggestions on where to visit whilst on holiday. The house itself was spotlessly clean and perfect for our holiday with two teenagers. Cosy but enough space for us all. We also loved the way the house stays so cool when it is so hot outside!
The pool was fantastic, with sunbeds and a shady sitting area with table and chairs for eating. Even a choice of BBQ’s depending on where you fancy sitting.
Lovely peaceful countryside but only a few minutes drive into town and the local supermarket. In the evenings there is also a local pizza restaurant which is only a ten minute walk away.
Cristina made us feel really welcome, and we would love to return soon.

You will have a hard time not saying”wow” every time you turn a corner- from the gated entrance to the beautiful pool and wonderful trullo. Cristina has thought of everything! Its very clean, well stocked ( we stayed for 4 days and disnt want to leave!) directions are great - gravel road but so peaceful and quiet. A little slice of paradiso!

We spent a very memorable family holiday in this fabulous villa close to the village of Alberobello but in a tranquil rural setting.
Cristina was an attentive host on hand to answer any query we had and pre organising airport transfers and car hire. Herself and her husband Allesandro greeted us on our very late arrival with a well stocked fridge and larder a tray of delicious focaccia and not forgetting the bottle of her fathers red wine!
I hope we are fortunate enough to return here at some time in the future.

Our family had a great time at the property. The home, pool, and grounds were great. Short drive into town and easy access to the rest of Puglia. Terrific hosts who helped make our stay even better. Thank you!

We stayed for a week with our 10 month old and Cristina was so incredibly helpful. She went out of her way to put together a crib for him to sleep in and made sure everything was set up with covers etc when we arrived. She was always available and responded very quickly to any questions we had. We would definitely stay again and had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Just perfect!
If you’re like us and fussy about where you stay, do not hesitate to book this property! We had a wonderful week. Cristina and Alessandro were extremely helpful from the minute we made the booking and throughout the stay including extra special touches such as treating us to some local delicacies. They are truly superb hosts that go beyond what you would expect when renting a property. The property itself was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. It was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The pool area and outdoor dining was superb. The location of the property is great. Only 2kms from Alberobello and perfectly situated to explore the surrounding area. All in all one of the best holiday properties we have ever booked. Thank you Cristina and Alessandro.

Semplicemente fantastico !

Wonderful stay at a great location
Located not for from Alberobello but at very calme location, almost on top of a hill. Christina made sure we had one of the best vacations in a very nice restored Trulli. The house and location are picture perfect and ideal for a family with kids. Highly recommended!

You will not be disappointed with this villa.
We arrived on sat 8th June. were greeted by the owners Alessandro and Cristina. We were pleasantly surprised that Cristina had cooked a traditional puglia dish , stocked up the fridge and cupboards, so we could relax the rest of the day around the beautiful villa.
Thank you both for your very warm welcome, you both made us feel at home straight away.
Gave us plenty of information on where to visit, and good places to eat, which we were not disappointed with!
We had the most wonderful 2 weeks relaxing around the beautiful pool. Enjoying the peace and quiet, enjoying the warm weather.
Would love to come and visit again in the future.
Thank you both, Ali and Mick

From the moment we booked Cristina made us feel welcome and special. There was no request that was too much trouble, and Cristina was always flexible - our numbers changed and changed again due to illness and Cristina took it all in her stride. We asked to arrive early and not only did Cristina agree to this, but we received a really kind welcome from her and Alessandro when we got there. Having a lovely lunch and wine, water and soft drinks available to use meant we didn't have to rush to the supermarket on our first day and we enjoyed the walk to Arboris Belli, the local pizzeria, for our supper in the evening. Cristina provided help checking prices for taxis and providing restaurant recommendations. She couldn't have been more helpful or considerate. She was generous with her time and with little gifts of local wine and biscuits, which added to our enjoyment and made the experience she offers quite different from other holiday homes we have stayed in. Cristina has a beautiful home and it is very well presented - there is everything you need available to enjoy your stay. We walked into Alberobello which takes about 35 minutes and we took day trips to some of the nearby towns like Loccorotondo and Martina Franca and we also enjoyed a trip to Polignano a Mare. We ate home some evenings - using pasta, passata, spices and local cheeses all provided by Cristina or barbequiing - making the most of the evening sun and the lovely outdoor areas. Our week flew by. Thanks Cristina and Alessandro. We will certainly recommend you to our friends who plan to travel to Puglia and hopefully we will be back one day.

We stayed for one week at the beautiful Trullo of Cristina and Allessandro. We booked the Trullo to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with our kids and partners. We had a great stay. The Trullo is amazing, clean, attentions for details and all you need is available. The wine Cristina gave us was delicious!. We asked Cristina if she could help us organize a cooking workshop and she arranged it spot on! Highly recommended. Not only the Trullo but all the nice places to visit. Greetings Lucas, Monique and Kids.

An absolute gem in Alberobello!
We (2 couples) had the pleasure of meeting Cristina and her husband at their incredible trullo in Alberobello. If we could have rated it 6 stars, we would have! The trullo is situated in the most beautiful setting and is even more stunning than the pictures lead you to believe. The home itself is perfectly appointed; not one item was needed. Cristina could not have been more thoughtful and kind, and provided us with wonderful suggestions of where to eat and what sights to see. She was readily available to answer any questions.
Over our two and a half weeks in Italy, we stayed in 5 different apartments in 5 cities/ towns. This was, by far, our favourite, not only for the amenities of the trullo, but for the thoughtfulness of our hosts. We would love to return someday! Grazie mille, Christina!

We had such a fantastic weekend at Cristina's. The house and pool area were amazing. Very well equipped and incredibly clean and tidy. Brilliant villa. Cristina couldn't have been more welcoming, even organising food on our first night when we arrived late. The recommendations for bars, restaurants and things to do were all spot on. We hope to be back soon! A great base for exploring stunning Puglia.

The owners, of this amazing property, are incredibly kind hosts. The property itself is unique and beautifully appointed. This is a must stay in property. It is tranquil, novel and a place to really relax and unwind. The best we have stayed in yet.

Amazing place!
Cristina was an amazing host and the villa (trullo) was perfect. Great pool, brilliant outside space with two bbqs and a wood burning oven. We cooked food from local markets most nights, and the indoor and outdoor kitchens had everything we needed. The surrounding area has beautiful towns to visit. A perfect holiday!

A beautiful place to stay in a wonderful setting
We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful place. A quiet peaceful setting surrounded by wonderful countryside made it easy to relax and get away from our busy lives for a week. Cristina and Alessandro could not have been better hosts, they left us alone to enjoy our stay but were always available if we needed anything. Thank you.

Family friendly villa
This was a remarkable find, a fantastic historical dwelling tastefully updated to provide a wealth of amenities for a relaxed holiday. The owner's attention to detail is impressive from external power sockets dotted around the property and fixed mosquito protection around all windows, to an outstanding external area with lovely pool, two eating areas all surrounded by a wonderfully tranquil location. Evenings were fantastic sitting around the well lit pool area, then to bed in air conditioned luxury!
The owners are very friendly people and gave us a wonderful greeting on our arrival. They are obviously proud of their villa and really wanted to share their enthusiasm with us. They left us with some tasty food that represented a great introduction of what Puglia has to offer.
We really don't think the photos do the building the credit it deserves. Seeing it for real was a bonus for us! Very smart, very tidy and incredibly well thought out. A good base to explore Puglia.

A great and very memorable holiday experience
We were delighted to be met on arrival by Cristina and Alessandro and be given such a warm welcome to their trullo. Our new hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful, both in showing us the property and providing tips on where to visit locally.
Having rented many self catering properties over the years in Italy, Spain, Greece, France and Scotland, Cristina and Alessandro are the best hosts we have experienced, surpassing all expectations. We felt they were very genuine and caring and went out of their way to assist with any requests. We look forward to our return.

Outstanding property with beautiful outdoor area
I can only confirm the many good reviews which have preceded this one. The house is tastefully and sympathetically decorated to reflect the age and character of the property. It is comfortable and well supplied with everything required for a relaxing holiday. The outdoor pool area and two dining areas are beautiful and add to the overall idyllic experience. The owners are a delightful couple who provided us with a delicious lunch on arrival, endless suggestions of places to visit and restaurants to try.
The closest village, Alberobello is a very pretty, historic place with some nice restaurants but can get busy at times. It's probably not within walking distance from the property for most people. There are endless beautiful towns and villages to explore which are within a 30 - 45 minute drive.
It is worth the visit if only to taste the local food and wine which is sublime.
Overall a lovely property with excellent facilities in a delightful setting.

Our stay was wonderful. The area was beautiful and the Trulli was amazing
The Trulli was beautiful and had everything we needed for a perfect family relaxing getaway. A car is recommended.
Christina and her husband were more than welcoming and accommodating hosts and always available. They made our stay even more enjoyable bringing a surprise birthday cake for one of our party. We would love to return to the property very soon.

Gorgeous property, beautiful place, amazing hosts
We had the most fantastic relaxing break - warm sunny weather, even in October. It's a beautiful part of Italy with bountiful produce which makes for great cuisine. Cristina and Alessandro were really welcoming and helpful - delicious homemade wine and food on arrival and a lovely gift of almond treats on departure. They gave excellent recommendations of places for us to go too.
There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance and it's a nice walk into Alberobello during the day - probably not walkable in the dark.
The property is beautifully maintained and well equipped if you want to eat in, and the area around it is quiet and peaceful. Perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. We loved it!

Amazing from start to finish!
We recently spent a few days at the Trullo della Ghiandaia. From the moment we arrived, welcomed by the lovely Cristina and Alessandro, we felt super happy in a fantastic property situated in such a sublime location. Quiet, peaceful and private but with great finishes all round, this property truly works for a family beak in the lovely Puglia. Cristina’s touches are spot on, such as the lunch left for us on arrival to name a few. The pool area is really well laid out with all the amenities. Inside, comfortable and spacious with a meticulous conversion respectful of history but also modern comforts. We travel a lot so rarely have time for reviews, but this one really deserved it. Hire a car to get there and explore or lock yourself up in tranquility. Grazie Cri and Ale!

Our family of 4 were lucky enough to stay at Trullo della Ghiandaia for 11 nights in September. The property is absolutely divine and the hospitality shown by Cristina and Allessandro is better than we have experienced anywhere. The Trullo has been restored beautifully and the land surrounding it is full of olive groves and fig trees. It is spectacular. On arrival Cristina provided us with the most beautiful dinner, wine from the family vineyard and some typical Puglian foods.
We spent our days exploring the local towns of Alberobello, Locarontondo and Martina Franca. We had an easy day trip to Lecce and on a few occasions went swimming in the incredible Polignano a Mare. Cristina and Allesandro provided us with lots if information on local towns, restaurants and activities. We found a lovely pizza restaurant only a few minutes from the Trullo called Aboris Belli which the whole family loved.
This Trullo is exceptional and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic Trullo Restoration
Four of us stayed at Trullo della Ghiandaia in September '17 for one week. Cristina was very accommodating, responding to our requests very promptly and professionally. On arrival we were met at the trullo by Cristina and her husband. She had prepared a beautiful meal and filled the fridge with essentials. The trullo has been beautifully restored and is 5*
The trullo is approx 2 miles from the centre of Alberobello so a car is essential if you want to get around and see the area. Cristina organised car hire for us at €30 per day plus fuel. The nearest shop/supermarket is in the town centre.
The best way to get from the airport is by train to Bari Central (€5 for a single ticket per person). Then catch the train on the FSE line to Alberobello which takes approx 1.5 hours and costs €9.80 each for a return ticket. A taxi to the trullo cost us €10 from the station which must be pre booked as there are no taxi's outside. The Thursday market is a must, selling fine Italian shoes and clothing as well as excellent fruit and veg.
If you want a relaxing holiday to get away from it all, this is the place - switch off your phone and forget about everything!

Cristina's Trullo looked exactly as it did in the photos, even better in real life. The outdoor lighting at night made you feel luxurious. My husband and 2 girls stayed there for 12 days and we loved it. The pool was a god send for the girls as they could have some chill time but still be occupied. They loved the downstairs room as it made them feel like they had their own apartment. The place was clean and immaculately kept. On the first night we got there we were greeted with dinner. It was delicious. Cristina made us feel like we were her long lost friends coming over for dinner. Nothing was a hassle I hadn't hired a car and when we got there it was obvious that we needed a car so Cristina sorted it out in less than 10 mins. I recommend hiring a car as you are rural. About a 3k distance from Alberobello. I was a bit scared at first to drive in Italy but Puglia compared to other southern Italian places is a bit more organised to drive in. I highly recommend Cristina's Trullo. One more thing there are at least 2 fig trees on the property and my husband and I would have fresh figs with cheese and wine every night - heaven!

We have spent two weeks and everything was perfect. The house is very nice and Cristina and Alessandro very welcoming. Very helpful, respectful and service oriented. Cristina had prepared meal at our arrival and buy some typical foods of Puglia. We have the habit to rent houses and we never receive this type of services high level and with delicate attention. I recommend this house, the region with a lot of pleasant places to visit. Alberobello is so nice and pleasant, a lot of restaurants, supermarket,...easy to live. Quiet space and relax. Grazie mille per vostra generosita. I wish you all the best for the comming years!

Deserves 10*'s!
Staying in this beautiful Trullo in the peaceful countryside was definitely an outstanding experience. Christina & Alessandro were so generous, welcoming and helpful. We cannot praise enough their heartfelt intention to create a thoroughly memorable experience. The Puglian meal they had arranged for us in a locàl restaurant was such a lovely surprise and a most enjoyable opportunity to sample traditional dishes. The Trullo was well presented, comfortable, with full amenities available. The pool and outside areas are just gorgeous and extremely well maintained. Alberobello is stunning and a visit to Locorontondo is a must!! As a group of friends meeting up for a holiday together, we all loved staying here and cannot recommend it more highly. Dee. UK.

I am a native Fromm Alberobello and when my family and I were planning for a vacation to visit my hometown, I came across Trullo della Ghiandaia to spend our holidays there and the birthday of my twin daughters. As soon as we decided to book this property, our host Cristina was very professional and courteous to work with us on planning our stay there.
When we arrived she surprised us with a beautiful cake for our daughters who were celebrating their birthday on the check in date. I have traveled in many countries and stayed at very expensive and famous hotels around the world, but the hospitality and peace we received at Trullo della Ghiandaia, no one can match. We were very sad when the time of our departure arrived to leave this magical and wonderful place. This is a gem of a place to spend your vacation and time will stop here I promise you.
Thank you Cristina and Alessandro we will be back again and again and again.

The Trullo is just like the pictures show. Interior and outdoor spaces are very clean and everything works nicely! The scenery around the Trullo is beautiful and guiet. There were nice paths for a walk. Walk to Alberobello is about 2 km in a nice scenery. Trullo is well equiped with basic spices, oli and vinegars, you can even find a first aid kit. Wi-Fi works very well. Beds very very nice too. It was very nice to relax in the Trullo's pool and sunbeds and have a barbague dinner outside in the warm evening air.
Christina and her husband were super nice and friendly and made us feel truly wellcome. We arrived at 16.00 and Christina had prepared us a very nice dinner that was ready in the oven waiting for us. Christina gave us good suggestions about restaurants and nearby towns and beaches to visit. Specially a visit to Restaurant L'antica Locanda in Noci is something I would warmly recomment to everyone! Thank you Christina for all this!
It was easy to drive around. Parking space was easy to find even in the central Alberobello. Local supermarket Conad is good and service exellent.. as in all the places we visited.

Christina is the perfect host. She has renovated a very old Trullo into a charming, stylish and comfortable place to stay. We were a group of 5 adults and had 2 beautiful double rooms with very comfortable beds. Downstairs in the converted 'well' slept my son very comfortably. She provided us with dinner and wine for our first evening and breakfast for the morning so we didn't have to shop straight away which was much appreciated. We cooked several meals. The kitchen is small but does have everything you need and there is a fabulous bbq. We made Italian coffee on the stove every morning which tasted great. The outdoor space is amazing! Beautifully finished patio areas with two shaded dining spaces and a crystal clear pool with great lighting. Surrounding this are fruit trees and mother nature. The Trullo is quite remote so you do need a car. If you want to eat out there is a new pizzeria open about 20 minutes walk which was very good. Take a torch though! Other than that you need to drive. Christina kindly ordered a taxi for us €10 each way into Alberobello so we could try the fabulous local wine. We had a wonderful week and Christina was always at the end of a phone to advise us.

Our stay at Cristinas place was great. She and her husband Alessandro are generous hosts and their trulli is renovated with great love and passion. A fantastic hide away to relax and spend some quality time in the sun of southern Italy.

Wonderful stay
The house is a meticulously restored Trulli. A delightful property which is thoughtfully equipped with everything one could want from kitchen equipment to outside bbqs, pool etc. Personal touches give it a very homely feel. Cristina, the owner is a delight to deal with and very thoughtful. When we asked about bike hire she said she had been thinking about getting some bikes for the house and when we arrived we found she had bought some. Everything made for a really pleasant and comfortable stay in a very nice house.
