It is less than 5 minutes by foot from a very nice beach. the view on the terrace is wonderful. The staff gifted us some small things on our arrival and our departure, very thoughtful.

Very minor thing: could have provided a sponge and soap to wash the dishes

Excellent stay

Room was very clean and owners left compliment fruits/water at the arrival. They also did not have issues with late check-in. Amazing view from the room.

Excellent stay

Very nice apartment with sea view. It was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The owner was very kind and helpful. I arrived much later than the check in time, but the owner still waited for me and accompanied me to my apartment. I also received some nice gifts (olive oil and an apron). The place is very calm, it’s close to a lot of nice tavernas and beaches and also to a bus stop. I will definitely consider coming back here.

Wonderful apartments

Ocean view balcony, super clean and well equipped apartment that is being cleaned every second day. The hosts are a wonderful family who gave us welcome fruit and wine, homemade cake. I had to work few days and the hosts made sure I had excellent Internet connectivity. The apartments are across the street from Voulisma Beach, with beautiful clear water. There are excellent restaurants nearby.

Perfect place

Amazing hosts, very friendly lady, gifts were given on welcoming and on leaving; nice and clean rooms; excellent location, easy to reach the beach and other nice towns of Crete, everything was perfect and natural, Thanks to Sophiana and her mother, "Efariszto"

Very nice and kind owners

The owners do the work and they do it nicely. We felt very welcome. Good location, close to Voulisma beach. A food shop was right accros the road. We had nice treace whic has our “restaurant”. An interesting “swiming pool” at the rooftop ;) We got several presents from their homegrown products fruits, egs, olive oil..

I had an excellent time in Istra! My apartment was very comfortable, always clean, good WiFi, good AC, no issues with water. It had a balcony where one could dry the swimming suite and enjoy the evening observing the sea and olive trees. Bathroom was specious, with the curtains for the shower, small window. There was a kitchenette with microwave, cooking plates, fridge, so that one also could cook a breakfast or warm up the meal. It was a very practical and comfortable place to stay! I was before in many hotels and apartments in Crete, but Vrokastro is absolutely the winner in all terms: value for money, comfort, practicality, host and location. It is a great location in Crete! You can drive to Ierapetra and take a ship to Chrysi, or drive to Toplou Monastry and Vai beach, Agios Nikolaos is 15 min drive away and Heraklion is about an hour. I could always find a parking place, had no issues. There are supermarket just opposite from the apartment and many tavernas (Kavos, above the Voulisma beach, was my favourite☺️). The beaches are easy to reach, with or without sun beds and umbrellas. The sea is amazing, turquoise color, transparent water, sandy (no swimming shoes are needed). There was one day when the waves came and brought little rubbish in the water. I took a car and went to Vai beach then, but it was only once. Mochlos is about 30 min drive and is a very calm nice fishing village, good place to dine once. A separate Wao ☺️👍 shall be said to the host! It is a family that runs the apartment and they definitely contributed to my impression from this place. I was overwhelmed with their welcoming atmosphere and hospitality ❤️There was a bottle of local wine and fruits on the table when I arrived, then I was twice offered bottles with olive oils, so that I started to worry about the weight of my luggage☺️ Later they brought a big and tasty cake to me, very delicious, safe-made that I, to my shame, could not finish. Sorry!

Excellent service from a family business We had chocolates and basic food on arrival .And on leaving we was given a gift by the owners/family which was a very nice gesture Good location in Istro , easy access to other areas in Crete
