Palma- Old Town: La Ciutat as the Majorcans call it has breathtaking appearance coming closer to the port. Adorned with yachts, palms and the Cathedral in the backdrop providing a magical vision and it is even more stunning in the early hours of the mornings. With the view of the range you will see the lovely succession of spattered roofs, of sights where history and modernity unite with the green and the Mediterranean in perfect harmony. Even though the first impression of the city may seem very small the possibilities that Palma offers make it seem as if it were a city ten times bigger. There are many points of interest to visit, here are some that you should not miss out on:
1) The Cathedral (built between XIV and XIX)
2 La Almudaina (Royal Palace)
3 La Lonja (Beautiful Art Museum)
4) Consulado del Mar (Balear Government
5) Paseo del Borne (Neurological and Heart Centre of the old town, lodges palaces. XVII, and XVIII centuries)
6) Plaza de Cort (city hall XCII century)
7) Arab Baths

Majorcan Gastronomy, Tapas and Wines: There are restaurants in Palma de Mallorca of excellent category and of the most varied kitchens in the world. Native gastronomy with recipes such as the 'tumbet' 'frit', ´el 'pa amb oli' and ample offers of local and international. If you like the Tapas do not miss out on the 'Ruta Martiana' in the old town of Palma a gastronomic event to sample tapas, beers and 'Majorcan wines' in a very animated environment during the week. La Ruta consists of 12 bars and restaurants from the old town: Moltabarra, La Gran Taberna, La Ruta del Té, Bar Boya, La Bravo, Noodle Bar, D’en Coll, Manhattan, Café Riparo, St. Ambrós, es Forn de Sa Llotgeta y L’Ambigú. The price of the tapa and wine or beer is very cheap every Tuesday starting at 19:30 in the old town of Palma. Mallorca predominates the Majorcan offer, but you will also find Mediterranean gastronomy, international, Italian, Basque and Galician. Sample a delicious traditional ice cream or a chocolate with ensaimadas.

Shopping and craftwork: The same diversity that Illes Balears presents at the cultural level the craftwork also expresses. You can purchase glass craftwork (Gordiola), ceramic (pots, reixoneres, plats morenos, bottles of wine), embroidery, fabrics, Shoe stores, Leather, silver articles, costume jewellery, jewellery shop, pearls (Majorca) and also the latest fashions and everything that all of the artists from all over the world have introduced into the tradition of Illes Balears.
Through the craftwork routes we invite you to discover the related trades to this land that forms part of its history and culture (more information in city hall offices-close to the apartment).
In the Old Town of the city you will find a variety of artisan shops and street markets in the Main Square and Streets (right next to the apartment).

It was a great place to stay. Especially the quite street in front and the short distance to the beach and the city center. Santi was easy to reach and had a great communication. Really can recommend staying at their place!

The apartment was located in the old part of Palma: near everything, it was also flawlessly clean, well heated, equipped with everything we could need during our stay, and decorated with taste and delicate touches. The hosts, Angela and Santi, were welcoming and thoughtful. They also were very flexible, accepting an early arrival and late departure to accomodate our flight schedules. The only drawback was that when we arrived, the taxi driver dropped us at the wrong address (Carrer del Mar instead of Carrer Porta de la Mar), causing a stressful delay. We mention it so that future guests may be mindful of this possible confusion. Orherwise, everything was perfect.

A truly special find in a wonderful location in Palma. The pictures of the place do not do justice to how well equipped this spot is. It had everything we needed and more - Santi and Angela are excellent hosts who have taken the extra time and care to make sure the place is turn key ready, comfortable, cozy and welcoming. We loved the location - close to the beach and the old town while retaining a quiet "out of the touristy" vibe. We stayed in the off season, so it might be different in the summer, but for us it was the perfect place to enjoy the holidays. We would return in a heartbeat.
