About this villa rental
Villa Rivazzola, recently restored to its former splendour, overlooks the picturesque harbour of Porto Valtravaglia, on the Lombardy side of Lake Maggiore, in the heart of the town. A few meters away stands the historic medieval church and you can find the bakery, the typical restaurants, and the shady lakeside. The residence has a large garden with swimming pool, separate dressing room with showers, 2 bersout (each with table and 14/16 chairs) and outdoor kitchen with BBQ. It consists of 4 floors and a tower and it has: 1 single bedroom , 3 double / twin bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms, 2 triple bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a bathroom-dressing, and 2 fully-equipped wide kitchens. There is also, in addition, an independent apartment in the basement, consisting of a kitchen, a double bedroom, a bathroom and a living room with sofa-bed and television. A beautiful staircase with restored stucco connects the floors of the Villa.
Finally the tower, overlooking Lake from the Rock of Angera to Switzerland with its four windows, is used as a recreation room (there are various games, which add to the ping-pong and table football). To have breakfast or enjoy a drink looking at the lake, there are various terraces and balconies on all floors. Clearly the 3 kitchens have all the household appliances (microwave,
traditional oven, slicer, refrigerators and freezers, dishwashers, coffee machines, etc.), and there is a separate room used as a laundry and ironing. Mattresses, sheets and pillows are new. The furniture and stucco are all of excellent workmanship, restored and / or made by "Contrada degli Artigiani di Como" in perfect harmony with the style of the ancient Villa.
Outside, the garden is very nice and colored by centuries-old azaleas, magnolias, camellias, botanicals, the typical persimmon tree and other fruit trees. Around the 13 meters long white stone pool lawn sun-beds and deckchairs are available. The accurate lighting of the driveway, garden and swimming pool will make your nights, after having contemplated the sunset over the lake, absolutely memorable!
Laundry, jointly with gardening and the daily bathrooms clean service (we can provide other cleanings if requested), is included, as well as wi-fi.
The dock for the ferry line that connects Porto Valtravaglia with the main towns of the lake is about 100 meters from the front gate. For guests who prefer to navigate autonomously, a 12-seats motor boat is available in the small harbour nearby, with an update on the price, and our skipper can take you by boat to the Borromean Islands or to the Castles of Cannero or even, with a navigation of an hour to the north, in Locarno or Ascona or in the south or in Angera Arona.
Clearly you can also go swimming in the various beaches of the town (two of which are fitted), within easy walking distance.
The Malpensa Airport and the airport of Lugano are 45 minutes by car. In just over an hour you can reach Milan. The town of Luino, also famous for the international market on Wednesday, is only 7 km to the north and has all the facilities and 3 supermarkets. 7 km to the south, overlooking the lake, Laveno, which has two railway stations and which is connected, as Luino, with an efficient service of ferries to all the famous tourist and cultural places on the shores of the lake.
From the top of Monte Ferro, reached by cable car, you can admire breathtaking views of lakes, ponds, mountains and rivers or enjoy with the flight or see the various golf courses in the area, including the Golfo dei Laghi.

Guests were thrilled with the beauty of the preserved Italian aristocratic villa and its surroundings, the smooth check-in/out process, and wheelchair accessibility. Highly recommended!

This villa was a step into Italian aristocracy. All 13 guests were thrilled with the beauty of the preserved architecture. We felt fortunate that we found it and often thought of returning next year. The only drawback, which I only say to help future renters, was the accomodations for couples was not enough. Rooms with single beds were meant for single people. They were not adequate for couples. In the end, we had to pay extra person fee and apartment fee when we only had 13 adults. Having said this, we were thrilled to have lived here for the week. It is a memory for Grandparents, parents, and adult grandchildren that will long be remembered as a remarkable and unforgettable vacation home and location. Thank you, to our host, Cesare and those who help to care for the beautiful house and pool.

short trip to Porto Valtravaglia
We really enjoyed our weekend in this fantastic villa. The check-in & check-out went smoothly. There is a supermarket and a carport infront of the Villa. What I would like to emphasize is that the apartment below is also suitable for wheelchair users. We highly recommend it.

Villa Rivazzola-Porto Valtravaglia
Giudizio assolutamente positivo.

Excellent Place!
The Villa was amazing and the location is perfect! Cesare was an amazing host, very responsive and super helpful. This spot is very special and works great for a large group or family. The kitchen is perfect for cooking large meals, and the grounds are beautiful. If you have ever wanted a perfect Italian vacation, this is the place. Far enough away from the bustle of Stresa, but accessible if you need it. The commune of Porto Valtravaglia is beautiful and quaint but has wonderful restaurants and grocery all within a short walk. Thank you Cesare! Thank you Pietro!

Beautiful Villa right next to the lake
This Villa is one of the best houses I ever visited. We travelled as a group of 14 persons and we amazed by this house. There are two kitchens which make it easy to cook for 14 persons at the same time. All of the bedrooms have a very personal touch and are all in a different look. In general this villa and the way its interior was choosen just looks and fits perfectly. During the hot summer days the pool in front of the villa was an amazing spot to cool down and just relax. If you prefer to go to the beach of lago maggiore it is just 200m away and easy to access. The garden of the Villa is very well keept and perfect to relax in the sun or shadow. My very favourite spots of the Villa were the outdoor BBQ area where we had an beautiful dinner below the shade of the trees during sunset and the tower room which gives an amazing overview of the surrounding alps and the lake.
The owner of the Villa was very accommodating, answered all our questioner and helped whenever needed. He even was very flexible for the check in and check out time, which made our trip even smoother.
Overall I can recommend this villa to any group or large family, its perfect for a private holiday without any other hotel guest and not missing anything.

Schönes Haus mit minimalen Mängeln
War wirklich ein schöner Urlaub, das Haus bietet alles was das Herz begehrt.
Einzige Probleme:
- WLAN unterdurchschnittlich schlecht
- manchmal kein warmes Wasser in den oberen Stockwerken
Cesare war aber sehr bemüht und hat bei allem sofort geholfen !
