About this cottage rental
Rose Cottage is a little gem. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a picture book cottage with character in abundance, then you'll have to go far to beat Rose Cottage. It is set in the centre of the beautiful village of Middleton-on-Sea in West Sussex. The cottage is Grade II listed and dates back hundreds of years, with the first formal records of it dating from 1606. It was lovingly restored over a 2 year period by previous owners, using traditional building materials and techniques, in conjunction with the English Heritage. Some of this work is visible through viewing panels in the cottage and it won a Conservation Award in 2008. The cottage can also boast a 4-star rating from the English Quality in Tourism scheme. The accommodation consists of a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove for the chilly winter evenings and a TV with FreeSat channels. There is a well equipped kitchen, which includes a slim-line dishwasher. The double bedroom is a particular feature, with its exposed beams and its bed with its foot board made up from old stocks! There is a further bedroom with bunk beds and a modern style wet-room with shower, wash basin and toilet. Outside, the cottage is set in beautiful gardens with well stocked flower beds and lawned areas. There is a Bistro set so guests can enjoy afternoon tea 'al fresco', or for just relaxing. There is off-road parking available, with a converted garage as a utility room and secure storage area for sports equipment or a cherished vehicle.

I love this cottage and you pay to stay in a beautiful old cosy cottage which is steeped in history. The garden is delightful and you are very close to Middleton -on- sea village, with two or three pubs within walking distance and the beach 10 min walk away. . It is not for everybody. I have stayed before so knew what to expect. The cottage is small inside but cool on hot summer days. Access would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues and there is no room to eat at table inside. However there is a picnic bench in the garden and another little table and chairs so you can eat outside when the weather is good . The major plus is how cute the cottage is. It has so much character and it really makes you smile when you look at it from the outside. Im sure we will be back. Many Thanks we had great weather and a great time

Lovely Cottage !!
Found the Property Easy enough. Parking outside the garage was perfect. Just be aware of reversing onto the road. Getting into to the property with the key codes was perfectly OK. Ans easy to achieve. Everything you possibly need is either in the garage or on the cottage!! Which we've never had before when renting a property for a week. Very thoughtful. Gardens were lovely and so is the gardener!! Our only issues were the mattresses are not that comfy what so ever. We played musical beds most nights, until we were in a bed we found comfortable. And the property wasn't that clean. Everything was sticky in kitchen! Before we left our review in the book, the cleanliness is the common and only issue that let's the property down !!

Rose cottage comfort
Springs in top bunk poking through, uncomfortable for grandson. No mention of the fact there was not a table to sit at for meals which is difficult for young children to balance plates on their lap. But otherwise a lovely cottage.

Beautiful cottage
Positive:
* Very charming cottage
* Good bathroom
* Beautiful garden
* Excellent location
* Very well equipped. Good set of pots and pans, lots of kitchen utensils. In addition, in the electronics department, there is wifi, Chromecast and dvd player available. Also extra lounge chairs, washing machine and freezer in the garage.
Some points to consider:
* No dining table. We did not mind since the weather was nice
* Matrasses could use an upgrade.

Beautiful cottage
Beautiful traditional little cottage with beautiful gardens the only down side is being on the corner of two main roads. However, this does mean that you are only a short walk away from the local shops and pubs and just a little further walk from the beach.

Cozy and well appointed. Ancient and modern.
This is a lovely place. The rooms are small, but despite this there is no feeling of claustrophobia. A lovely atmosphere. When I booked Rose cottage, I didn't realise the family significance of the place for my friend, so relatives came to visit the place where their great grandfather used to live.
