About this house rental
Welcome to Villa Nova, the home we built with care and love over 25 years. Nestled in the peaceful hills of a national park with a view over Lake Bracciano. Villa Nova invites you to relax, enjoy, and connect with family and friends. It is a place where life feels simple and meaningful, surrounded by the beauty of Italy.
Our story
Villa Nova started as an empty shell we found 25 years ago. Over the years, it became our life’s project, carefully crafted into the welcoming home it is today. Every piece of furniture and every detail reflects our values—comfort, warmth, and a sense of belonging. When you stay here, you’re not just a guest—you’re part of the story.
Spaces for sharing and relaxing
This villa is designed for spending quality time with family and friends. Two large living rooms give you space to gather or find a quiet corner. The open kitchen is perfect for cooking and sharing meals together. With eight bedrooms, each opening to its own terrace with views of the hills and lake, you’ll wake up to stunning scenery every morning. Modern bathrooms and air conditioning ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Enjoying the outdoors
The gardens at Villa Nova are full of olive trees, flowers, and peaceful corners. You can dine under the shade of a pergola, swim in the solar-heated pool, or simply sit and enjoy the view of the hills. These outdoor spaces are for creating memories—whether that’s a family dinner, an afternoon swim, or a quiet moment with a book.
Experience the best of Italy
Villa Nova is the perfect base for exploring Italian culture and nature. Visit nearby vineyards for a wine tasting, enjoy a meal at a lakeside bistro, or take a short train ride to Rome for a day of sightseeing. Spend a relaxing day on the shores of Lake Bracciano, or venture to the seaside for a swim, a leisurely lunch, and an evening aperitivo by the water. Discover the charm of nearby villages like Trevignano Romano, Bracciano, or Anguillara Sabazia, each offering unique history and character. For a deeper cultural journey, explore the rich landscapes and ancient towns of Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany. Whether you’re walking through local markets or savoring homemade pasta on the terrace, Villa Nova helps you experience Italy at its best.
Thoughtful hosting
We’ve thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. We’re here to help if you need anything, but we also respect your space, so you can enjoy the villa on your own terms. Our guests consistently highlight the welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful details of Villa Nova. One guest wrote, "A totally relaxing and peaceful location. Our family felt wrapped up with love and care for a week. We didn’t want to leave."
Memories that last
At Villa Nova, it’s the simple things that stay with you—spending a lazy day by the pool, enjoying an aperitivo with friends or soaking in the stunning view of the lake. Play ball in the garden, share a homemade Italian meal under the porticos, or reflect under the shade of a fig tree. Begin your day with a good "café", the calm of the garden and end it by watching the sunset from the pool—a moment that feels timeless. These are the experiences that make life special, and we’re proud to offer a place where they can happen.
Caring for the environment
Villa Nova runs on solar power, and the water from our well is safe to drink, so there’s no need for bottled water. We believe in protecting this beautiful place for the future and invite you to join us by being mindful of energy and waste during your stay.

A totally relaxing and peaceful location. 16 of us enjoyed all the space and opportunities for summer family fun. Ika & Mario are the best staff I have ever encountered in years of villa rentals. Breakfast each day was incredible and Alberto is an evening meal star! They are thoughtful and incredibly honest with receipts and unspent money returned. They made our family feel wrapped up with love and care for a week. So many comfortable break out areas to use so this really is brilliant for a larger group. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you!

Our family loved all tehf acilities and the imternal fititngs etc in teh hosue
We found the house to be exceptional in every aspect apart form the swimming pool which was too small for the whole family to properly enjoy together
Everything else was fabulous and Ika and Mario were on site whenever we needed them and were very helpful and unobtrusive

We had an absolutely fabulous week in this outstanding house. The garden is quite a park! It’s adorable and we enjoyed being there!

The home itself is thoughtfully laid out, such that everyone could find 'space,' if desired, in addition to the eight bedrooms; with views of the lake and orchard and the scent of roses and jasmine everywhere. The caretakers were attentive and quick, but unobrtrusive. The kitchen was well stocked, equipment-wise, with some spices & condiments. The pool was perfect - set back in the garden, away from the house. We arrived on a cool day to find a fire in the fireplace awaiting us. Could not think of anyway to improve the spot. It was absolutely lovely.
A short drive to charming Trevignano Romano, in a private and beautiful country setting (up a very bumpy driveway!) Italian paradise with Scandinavian sensibilities.

The villa is huge – our family reunion had plenty of space for 10 adults and two kids. (There were even rooms we did not need).
The view of the nearby lake is stunning, the overall atmosphere at the pool and garden is so peaceful. The interiors are a cosy mixture of a nordish and modern italian style.
Ika (the maiden) and her husband Mario were wonderful too – she arranged breakfast and let us check out later so we could enjoy the house until the last of us had to catch our flight back home in the evening.
The family reunion felt like home-away-from-home! Thanks for making that possible! :-)

We spent 1 week of our family holiday in the house. We enjoyed every second. The house is great, it contains everything, you dream of, the location close to Rome and nearby the lake is just a dream. Lots of great restaurants in the villages close to the house. We have been welcomed by the 2 people that take care of the house and both were very helpful in everything wee needed. To sum it up, the stay was just fantastic. We can recommend it without any limitations.

We stayed at this property for 5 nights with 6 other couples to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. The property is absolutely stunning. Stina was incredibly helpful when communicating with her prior to arriving to the vill and super responsive when we go there as well. Mario and Ika live on the property, and they are very attentive and kind. I would highly recommend coordinating a dinner with chef Alberto & Ika through Stina- the food was amazing and it was the best way to spend our first night! Make sure to use the google location she provides, it is the easiest way to find the house. You could comfortably sleep 16 in this home. It's awesome!

The villa was perfect for a large family holiday. The quality of the location, safe detached/fenced swimming pool in a beautiful setting. Ika on hand to help was really useful too

We loved our stay at Villanova. First of all, the pictures in this listing is captivating. I knew from the moment I saw them, I wanted to book it for our family's retreat.
Communication with the owner was excellent in the beginning. However, months down the line, there were technical difficulties that prevented my messages from reaching the owner. After a while, I contacted VRBO to reach her and she was able to respond immediately. So, that part was resolved. I know communication would have been seamless if it wasn't for the technical problems but I still had to be honest on why I gave Communication with the Owner 3 stars.
Communication with the Property Manager was great, I give that part 5 Stars. She used What's App and was very helpful with the language barrier. Therefore, I averaged Communication in General to 4 Stars overall.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS 5 STARS!!
I didn't notice that it didn't have A/C but the location was breezy and didn't stop us from enjoying the property. The home is ultra private, high on the hills of beautiful Italian countryside. With that being said, there were a few power outages but it was short and the housekeeper/groundskeeper immediately sprung into action when needed.
The housekeeper, Ica, was truly wonderful. Prior to arrival, we only booked her to set up breakfast for us every other day. However, after the first breakfast, we decided to ask her to set up breakfast all the remaining days. It was simple yet fresh but so wonderful to have fresh coffee and fruits and pastries and cheeses and meats prepared for us daily. Clean up was taken care of by Ica as well.
The cook, Alberto, was also wonderful. He made delicious authentic meals to accommodate our large family without us having to go anywhere! Alberto and Ica were heaven sent and made us feel at home.
The pool was beautiful and it had toys for the kids to play with. There was a soccer set outside and plenty of games inside to keep occupied.
The family all agreed that if the opportunity came back for us to come back to Rome, we would definitely love to stay here again.
We highly recommend it!!

Our party of 16 (15 adults and 1 child) stayed at this villa for one week at the end of October and loved every second of it! Prior to our arrival, Stina was very helpful and responsive in answering all of our questions about the villa and the surrounding area. While finding the villa gave us some initial trouble, it was well-worth the search! The villa is located north of Rome, which made it an excellent home-base for any day trips into Rome or up north to the Tuscany region. However, the villa was so well-stocked with amenities, we all could have stayed at the villa every day and been completely content!
Even as a large group, we were very comfortable as the villa is VERY spacious (the photos don't do it justice!); the villa is split into two villas, so there were two kitchen, living, and dining room areas which was perfect for our group. The villa was also extremely clean and well-kept. Mia, Ika, and Mario greeted us upon arrival to show us around and help us get acclimated which was wonderful after a long flight into Rome. If we ever had any questions, all three caretakers were available and very responsive. Ika was available to make breakfast (which we took advantage of one morning), otherwise the beautiful town of Trevignano Romano was about a ten to fifteen minute car ride away (where there is a small grocery store at which we bought breakfast and lunch groceries).
The villa has a pool, trampoline, soccer/football nets, and many other outdoor activities. The backyard overlooks the lake and the front yard overlooks an olive orchard - breath-taking views from every angle!
We highly recommend this villa for large groups or just anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax!

We recently stayed in this villa with our extended family. There were 13 of us (ages 5-70) and we were very comfortable. The villa itself and the grounds made for a very relaxing place to unwind after our sightseeing tours in Rome and Naples. There were many times that our kids would ask if we could just stay at the villa and swim and explore! The grounds and house are very well maintained. There are flowers in bloom everywhere you look, and the outdoor sitting areas are a fabulous place to enjoy morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine. Our family also enjoyed the outdoor shower....very serene and relaxing. We could have just stayed at the villa and never left!!
We arranged for Ika (the maid) to set-up breakfast in the mornings, which was a fabulous way to start the day! The food was wonderful, and the view at breakfast was beautiful. We also had Alberto (the chef) prepare a couple of meals for us during our stay. He is an accomplished chef, and it it was a treat to be able to relax, at "home" with all of our family and be served such fabulous meals!! Truly a memorable experience.
We took the opportunity to explore the local towns on Lake Bracciano, and those are some of our fondest memories from the vacation! Walking around Trevignano and eating lunch on the lakeshore, and exploring Castello Oldescachi in Bracciano (with dinner on the square afterwards)....definitely worth taking the time to do!!
No matter what part of Italy we explored, each day we were thankful to come back to the villa and relax!! It is such a beautiful, tranquil place....inside and out. Our Italy vacation was made better by staying here :)

Our party was 15 people at its maximum and we were not crowded at all. The villa is very spacious and very well equipped; bedrooms are generously sized, plenty of bathrooms and lovely living areas. Kitchens are well equipped with all you could need. Gardens are well maintained, large and with a nice view of the lake. My only slight disappointment was that the pool is quite small and set in the corner of the grounds, well away from the villa itself, but that was only a minor issue. The drive from Rome airport is easy and took less than an hour.
A maid and a chef are also available to arrange breakfast (the maid) and/or to cook dinner; we used them and they were lovely and also cooked us 2 fabulous dinners.
I would thoroughly recommend the villa and might well go there again.

We had a lovely week at Villa Nova in August. The villa is very well maintained and spacious. The views are lovely and the setting is remote yet only 10 mins from the local town which provides a very relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!

A real villa: thoughtful, roomy & stylish. Not a rustic restoration of a dusty dark Italian farmhouse but a bright, livable, welcoming home.
An abundance of rooms and restful outside spaces allowed for a large family group to enjoy a holiday together but with ideal separation and space to relax.
Close to great amenities of the nearby lake-shore towns and restaurants - and of course convenient for Rome's shops and sights. Owner Stina was enormously welcoming and helpful with hints and tips about how to enjoy the house and surrounding area.
A Stina-recommended Chef and helpful housemaid made the holiday even more pleasurable with great family feasts and breakfast services.
Website photo's and descriptions are very accurate - but worth adding that the house has a lived-in feel and so not 'too stylish' or austere. Kids were never out of the pool or off the trampoline!
Restaurant L'aqua dell Donne is especially commendable.
