Armando was very helpful.

Host Armando was very gracious and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is ideal, right on the bus line, travel throughout the city was very easy. Condo was very spacious and felt like home away from home. Kitchen, laundry, terrace, smart TV- with stores and eateries present as well- made for a very relaxing time in La Spezia.

This spacious and comfortable apartment is on the 5th floor of a nice building. The place was spotlessly clean for our arrival and although a little dated, everything is good. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed super-comfortable. For us, the secure parking beneath the building opposite was a plus. There are cafes and shops in the streets surrounding with supermarkets 5 minutes walk away. Many good restaurants in the main town area about 15 minutes walk. During our stay we used the train to get around the cinque terre which was really busy. Porto Venere was much nicer, with no crowds and easy to reach by car. Montemarcello and Tellaro are also nice for walking. You can easily enjoy Pisa and Lucca in one day, we took our bicycles to get around.

Good base to explore the area
We chose La Spezia as a base to explore the area. Our host was wonderful and very helpful getting us oriented with buses, ferries, and towns to visit. The apartment is very spacious and the air conditioning was an added bonus as Liguria was very hot during our visit. Good connection to the train station with the number 3 bus and a huge shopping mall a short walk if needed.

Lovely apartment
Super nice and friendly host! The apartment, and especially the terrace was lovely, and we had a great stay. The location is a bit far away from the train station, especially since the buses don’t go that late. Anyways, very good host and beautiful week in La Spezia

A wonderful stay
We have just finished a 4-week stay in this apartment and we had a wonderful time. Our host, Armando, met us when we arrived and showed us to the reserved parking space in a secure car park nearby - a definite bonus when parking spaces are in short supply. The apartment is very spacious and well furnished and upstairs the private sun terrace was a definite bonus, perfect for watching the sun set with a glass of wine! Within a few minutes walk there are coffee bars, a supermarket, fresh vegetable shop, pizza eat-in or takeaway and wine shop. It is only a 20-minute walk into the city centre for many more shops and a huge market, as well as a beautiful palm-lined promenade where boats can ferry you to the Cinque Terre and other local places of interest. All in all a great and memorable holiday!

Would definitely recommend! Excellent hospitality!
Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed in this nice apartment for 5 days. We had never been to La Spezia before and choose it for the nice reviews, location (easy to get to Cinque Terre by ferries or train) and of course for the free parking space which is located in a secure parking garage just across the street. Mr. Bonomi, which I repute a great host, met us at the apartment and immediately drive us around La Spezia city and point out places such as the marina, boat station, supermarkets and more. The apartment is very spacious, bright and cozy, we felt us we were at home. The kitchen is very large and it has all the appliances and utensils you could need. The living room is very comfortable as well (sofa turned into a bed and my children said it was really comfortable to sleep) and also has a large dining table suitable for a large family. The bathroom is spacious and has everything you could require on it. I adored the bedroom which has a double really comfortable bed and a single bed (perfect for small children).
Mr. Bonomi was really gentle and kind to us and offered a lot of information about the area, beaches, nice places to visit and ferries to take to cinque Terre.
It was surprising finding all those shops and supermarkets just around the unit.
We really had a great time in La Spezia, I would definitely recommend this nice place not only for the facilities it offers but also for the great and warm welcome Mr. Bonomi reserves to every single host which make them feel at home even far from home. I can't wait to visit La Spezia again and stay for a longer time.
Five Stars well-deserved!!!

Spacious apartment in quiet area, suitable for 4 persons. The beds in the bedroom are very comfortable and the kitchen was perfectly equipped. Close by the apartment is a butcher, fishmonger and bakery, where you can get fresh bread every morning, even on Sundays. In front of the entrance is the bus stop to the city centre and from the Hospital bus stop nearby busses to Portovenere and Lerici. The host, Armando is very friendly and helpful, he drove us from and to the railway station and gave us lot of information during our 4 weeks stay in La Spezia. I can highly recommend that appartment.

Great apartment close to La Spezia centre
Large spacious apartment in quiet residential area of La Spezia near to port. Approximately 15 mins walk to La Spezia centre and 15 mins walk to La Spezia Migliarina train station, slightly further to the central train station. Ideal for access to Cinque Terre and beyond. Apartment was very clean and was well equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Supermarket 2 mins walk and La Pia in Centro Kennedy opposite did excellent pizzas at a very reasonable price. Car park space allocated in secure underground car park was a bonus. The host, Armando, was very welcoming, he met us at the apartment when we arrived and gave us a tour of the town and was happy to answer any questions that we had. Very helpful.

Excellent Experience
Our family of three (2 adults, 1 young child) stayed in this unit for one week. Even though we have traveled to Italy in many occasions, we had never been to La Spezia before; as result we picked this unit for several reasons (location, full bathroom, full kitchen, the master bedroom sleeps three, and of course price).
We disembarked from a cruise ship in La Spezia cruise terminal, we could have walked to the unit from the cruise terminal, but we had too much luggage.
The owner's son, Michael, met us at the terminal and took us to the apartment. The apartment is very specious and bright. The kitchen is very large and it has all the appliances and utensils you could need. The living room is very comfortable as well (sofa turns to sofa bed); it has a very large dining table that could sit a large family. The bathroom is large, and so is the bedroom which has a double bed and a single bed (perfect for small children). There is also plenty of storage throughout the unit.
Michael was very kind, he provided us with tons of information on the area, the trains, taxis and bus system as we did not have a car. Right outside the apartment there is a bus stop (bus #3) which takes you directly to the main train station. He kindly showed us exactly where we needed to go for all our travel plans. Within a 15 minute walk you can find the ferries to Cinque Terre. We walked everywhere, at all sort of hours (even late at night after dinner) and never felt unsafe.
There are all sort of shopping options around the unit. There a large shopping center close by (La Terraza) with a huge supermarket (IPERCOOP). There is a PAM supermarket across the street, as well as all sort of small convenience stores.
Our week in this large, clean, convenient and very comfortable unit was amazing. Next time we need to return to La Spezia we are sure to rent this apartment again. This review gets best accolades for the most wonderful host, excellent apartment and great town.

Great place to stay!
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this nicely appointed and well located apartment in an upscale neighborhood in La Spezia during our recent trip to Italy. Everything in the owner's write-up is true. It is nicely decorated with personal items that make it feel like a home. The apartment is on the fifth floor of a rather new building. The furniture is modern and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and you could easily cook a meal there. Do note however that there is no microwave so you would have to cook the old fashioned way. This was not a problem for us as we only ate breakfast there and perhaps an evening snack. To my great relief the bed was very comfortable (I have back trouble).
The garage space is located in a secure parking garage just across the street. At first we thought that might be a problem, but it wasn't at all and we were very glad to know that our car with our foreign license plate and broken cargo cover was securely locked up at night.
The neighborhood is very nice and mostly residential. It seems to be a very safe, low crime area. There are a few places to eat within walking distance but if you are looking for something late at night, there is a pizza place just up the street. The others close much earlier.
To our delight there is an organic store and market right next to the apartment building and we did most of our shopping there. They are open until 20:30. There is also a big Hypermarket in the new shopping center nearby.
There are many interesting things to do using La Spezia as a base. We saw Cinque Terre by train and by boat. Unfortunately the trains were not running well and were over crowded, but the boat the next day was fantastic. It also includes Portovenere (unlike the train). Another day we toured the quarries at Carrara. Very interesting tour, but take note and wear hiking boots or tennis shoes as the floor was wet and slightly muddy. It can be chilly in there so have a sweater handy. We also went to Lucca and liked it so well we went back again the next day. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
The owner Mr. Bonomi is such a nice person. He drove us around in a short tour of La Spazia. When we arrived at the apartment there were fresh flowers and organic apples waiting for us. When we left he gave us some olive oil from his farm. He made a very complete book of sights and maps of things to do in the area and leaves it in the apartment for reference. FIVE STARS all the way!!!!!

Convenient Location, Amazing Host
The apartment is conveniently situated on the city fringe of La spezia, close to all transport, buses, trains & ferries as well conveniences such as supermarkets and cafes at your doorstep and a little further away (5 minute drive), a large shopping centre which was home to what must be the biggest (and best) supermarket we have ever stepped foot in.
Our host, Armando, was incredibly gracious and took the time to drive us around and point out places such as the marina, train station, supermarkets and more.
The apartment was certainly spacious enough and accommodated the 3 of us easily. Armando also made very generous provisions available ie a weeks supply of bottled water as well as some coke, beer, wine, a fruit bowl and kitchen staples like tea coffee sugar salt oil vinegar even bus tickets and more.
A previous reviewer mentioned you are trading convenience for beauty by staying in La spezia and I now understand why, La Spezia is not as pretty as her neighbouring cities, but you wont find a better host and you certainly will have all the conveniences at hand including parking if you are travelling by car.

Lilly Apartment
It would be difficult to find a more kind and generous host than Michele, who gave us such a warm welcome to La Spezia and his concern for ensuring we had the best holiday possible meant he went to considerable lengths to show us all aspects of this beautiful region. The flat is very spacious and light and bright - with a small kitchen balcony where we could watch the sun setting on the hills each night and the large roof terrace for relaxing and sunbathing. La Spezia is a lovely town and an excellent hub for visiting this area - and, as we chose not to take our car, with easy access to trains, buses and boats. The grand arcades lead into town where there are several interesting and quirky museums. We liked wandering down to the marina with its palm tree lined walk to enjoy the many artisan ice-cream parlours! We found the local people to be delightfully helpful - in the museums, on transport and in the local shops. Although most of the 5 Terre walks are not walkable at present, there are plenty of other, less touristy trails to walk and enjoy the landscape contrasts of pretty fishing villages, medieval hamlets, rolling hills, distant mountains and sea views.
Many thanks Michele - it is not a question of if, but when we will be back!

Very convenient; great hosts!
This apartment is near the heart of La Spezia not far from the dock. We stayed for three weeks and enjoyed our stay.
Pros:
- Our hosts: Michele took care of our every need. He made sure we knew our way around, showed us the train station, ferry boat dock, restaurants and shopping areas. Whenever there was a problem (and they were few) he took care of it immediately. He was the perfect host.
- Convenience: This apartment is very near to a mall which has a huge grocery store that rivals any super Walmart in the states (only nicer). It has air conditioning and WiFi.
- Location: Within walking distance of the ferry to Cinque Terra and close to the train station (~30 minute walk, 5 minute drive or short bus ride). The buses run often and go to Lerici, Sarzana, and Portovenere. We even took a bus to Campiglia and had a great hike down to Portovenere.
Cons:
You are trading convenience for beauty by staying in La Spezia rather than in nearby Lerici or Portevenere. However, because the train station is so near, my family went to Pisa, Florence, Venice, Rome, Pompeii as well as nearby Cinque Terre all from our homebase.
