About this house rental

Midhopestones is a small village on the outskirts of Sheffield and the Peak District and is convenient for Manchester and the M1 motorway. The village is nestled in rolling hills with many walks and trails, long and short. Our local pub is 2 minutes walk away and has log fires, Oak beams and stone floors and sells good food and real ales.
Our cottage is furnished to a very high standard and kept spotlessly clean. We have quality appliances including dishwasher, washing machine and smart Television. There is full central heating with underfloor heating downstairs.

Outside we have a large patio to the rear and guests have their own private deck. Sun loungers and patio set with seating for 6 overlook open countryside and the River Porter. For the children we have a large playhouse with toys and for the adults there is a wood fired Pizza Oven, BBQ and hot tub for up to 6.

To the front of the property there is a large off road car park and charging point for electric vehicles (Electricity used is at current rate)

This property is lovely and very spacious. All kitted out with essentials. Close to Penistone where there was nice cafe’s. We went for lunch at Ye Olde Mustard Pot and this was yummy. Nice decking area and hot tub is an added bonus. The only thing we weren’t aware of is that the property is next door to the owners and when we were outside one evening, the owners and their friends were also using the outdoor area and pizza oven. However, this was not an issue and the property is spacious enough to have your own privacy.

A lovely location for exploring the local areas. A sensitive barn conversation done to a really high standard with lovely grounds and access to local shops and lots to do. The new addition of the hot tub was a nice touch.

Such a beautiful place. We booked last minute with our 4 children and 2 dogs and were not disappointed. Location is fantastic..very rural but lots of shops and attractions very close by and the owner could not have been more helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay !

a great place to explore this part of yorkshire
a great place to explore this part of yorkshire
We were a bit surprised it was so close to the main road but once inside the traffic was not an issue. Sitting out at the back in warm sunshine looking over the countryside was delightful. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park - our reason for choosing the property - is a short drive away.

Comfortable, well equipped property.
Comfortable, well equipped property.
We stayed here for a weekend in September and found the accommodation to be excellent. It was spacious and comfortable and had everything you needed. The location was good, with a nearby reservoir which was great for dog walking and plenty of amenities within a few minutes drive. Highly recommend staying here.

Lovely historical Midhopstone cottage
Lovely historical Midhopstone cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Midhope cottage. Beautiful accommodation, lots of room, well equipt, great historical renovation of the old original barn to cottage. The owner Andrew was quite friendly and helpful, courteous. Lovely yard, flowers, backyard dining area, kids playhouse etc. The only draw back that we found with this property is the noise. It is on a very busy roadway, and traffic starts early at 5 am. We were there for one of the hottest summers on record, so had all the windows open for air, traffic was very loud. Too bad, such a lovely place and this was our only small fault we could find, otherwise lovely cottage.

Pleasant stay.
Pleasant stay.
The property was perfect for our needs as two families. It was comfortable, well maintained, well equipped and easy to find. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. Double glaizing might help with the noise level of the nearby road which was a minor irritation. All in all, good value....... a pleasant stay.

Welcome weekend retreat
Welcome weekend retreat
Beautiful cottage, double rooms very spacious. Didn't appreciate actually on A616 but that is clear when you receive directions. Road noisy but when a large amount of snow this reduced!! Great walking from the door to local reservoir, and local pubs had really tasty food and good beer and wine. Lovely open fire, only one bag of logs supplied though, advised could be got at garage which we did but they were wet!! Shame not a dry supply could purchase from owner. Landlord away but very helpful when we contacted him.
