About this house rental
Seaside, woods, countryside all at once. The bourgeois villa of an artist painter of the late nineteenth century. An extremely calm and peaceful environment. Both house and park are spacious. The house has two living rooms, of which one very large (52 sqm and 4 meter ceiling), four fireplaces, four bedrooms, one kitchen, two bathrooms, three WCs. The three floors of the house and its large rooms allow at once peace, calm and also being together with family or friends. The garden is ideal for flower-lovers, kids and well-behaved dogs. The trees are partly one hundred year old. It is cared for by a gardener and has various essences: rhododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas... The flowering season is at its best in April, May and June. The closed garden of about 2,700 square metres is also ideal for children as a playground. The house is bordering a state owned and protected forest, about 500 metres away from the cliffs of the Cap d'Ailly. You have various walking possibilities, starting directly from the house: the cliffs, the forest, the seaside, the countryside, the various world-renown gardens in the direct neighbourhood (the Princess Sturdza's garden at 350 metres, the Parc des Moutiers at 1.2 kms, the Shamrock collection at 3 kms, the sea-overlooking cemetery of Varengeville with its beautiful church, adorned with stained glasses by Braque.... This an interesting old property in a great location, close to Varengeville and near some beautiful gardens. It’s very comfortable - although admittedly there was just two of us for most of the time - with a large sitting room and plenty of secure outdoor space.

My recent stay at the seaside country house was nothing short of magical. Nestled in a picturesque landscape, this charming retreat offered the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, I was enveloped in a sense of tranquility and warmth. The house itself is beautifully maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The interior exudes a cozy atmosphere with comfortable furnishings, and large windows. Waking up to the sound of birds was an absolute delight. One of the highlights of my stay was the spacious living room with a fireplace. Whether sipping my morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine at sunset, it was the ideal spot to unwind and take in the natural beauty surrounding us. The well-manicured garden added to the charm, providing a peaceful place to read or simply relax. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Their local knowledge was invaluable, offering great recommendations for nearby attractions, hidden beaches, and the best seafood restaurants. I felt genuinely cared for and appreciated their thoughtful touches, such as the welcome treat.
The location of the country house is another standout feature. It offers the best of both worlds – the serene seclusion of the countryside and the invigorating proximity to the sea. In conclusion, my stay at the seaside country house was a truly rejuvenating experience.

There was so much to like about this property - the age, size and character of the house, the large garden (of which the children took great advantage), the heavily treed and otherwise very attractive neighbourhood in which it’s situated, its proximity to the sea, the access it gave us to an outstanding local bakery, the many walks it opened up for us, the short distance to Dieppe and all that it has to offer (most notably the Saturday morning market), the well supplied kitchen, the option we had of eating our meals both indoors and on the porch outside, to mention only some of its appealing features. Marc was also an excellent host, especially in the lead up to our visit, during which he sent us lots of helpful information about both the house and the local area that made our stay that much more enjoyable.

We have very nice memories of a week's holiday in this beautiful historic house. The house is situated in a prime location, has a large beautifully maintained private garden and exudes warmth and love. There were some minor problems with the refrigerator and washing machine but these were quickly taken to heart by the concierge. We also received from the owner a financial compensation for this discomfort.( very much appreciated ! )

After 4 busy days in and around Paris, this stay in a beautiful turn of the century home was exactly what we needed. The beautiful garden was so peaceful and the home so welcoming. We really cannot say enough great things about it.
The owner and property team were great to work with and provided an abundance of information about the property and surrounding area.
Our family was entirely blessed to find this beautiful corner of paradise.

We had an absolute great time chez Marc. Everything from initial communication with Marc and property manager Franck was top! The house is absolutely charming with enough room for the 11 of us. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is stocked with anything you could need. I would love to return in the summertime. The area is beautiful and we had many good walks on the beach. Highly recommend this magical place!

A Spacious and comfortable house!
Thank you for a lovely stay with family in Normandy. The check in was lovely - we arrived with tired adults and kids from CDG and were greeted with the manager and a local apple tart and ciders. The lawn is great - we were able to use the bikes - and play games outdoors till late. The house is comfortable - the large living room is great for families and separate from the bedrooms so you can’t hear people. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable. The kitchen is strange and quite difficult to move around in. The layout of the kitchen is not at all suited to the number of people who can stay in the house. But as long as only one or two people are working in there, it’s fine.
This area of Normandy is very quiet and beautiful. Arriving on a Saturday, there was little open till Tuesday. We did enjoy a great seafood lunch in Dieppe and loved that church. We spent a day in Rouen and Veules-Les-Roses which is beautiful, before moving to the southern part of the area.
I found the deposit that the owner required nerve-wracking. I had to wire 1200 euros before the trip, and it took weeks to get it back after we left. Part of this was getting the right information to Marc, but this was difficult as I was still traveling. It made me uneasy sending this outside of the VRBO system.

A wonderful week
The house is magnificent, of its period and full of charm. The garden is a delight, both for sitting and admiring and for children to play and explore.
We had a great time in this fascinating area with glorious sea food and beaches, though you must read the tide times carefully.
The owner’s helpful guides and his efficient and friendly response to queries helped to make us feel at home for this family reunion.

Wunderbares gemütliches Haus
Ein sehr charmantes Jahrhundertwende Haus in toller Umgebung. Gemütlicher konnte ein Haus gar nicht sein, die Kommunikation mit dem sehr freundlichen Vermieter war hervorragend. Lange Spaziergänge im Wald, entlang der Klippen und Fahrten in historisch interessante Städte sind von dort aus möglich. Wir hatten einen rundum schönen Aufenthalt .

Wunderschönes Haus in einer tollen Landschaft
Wir haben eine Woche im Oktober mit unseren erwachsenden Kindern und unserem Hund im Haus verbracht.
Das Haus ist außergewöhnlich und wunderschön. Ausgestattet ist die Villa mit allem, was man braucht und dies in ausreichender Anzahl.
Das Platzangebot ist so großzügig, dass jede unsere 3 Töchter sich ein eigenes Zimmer auswählen konnte.
Dies ganze Familie hat sich wohl gewühlt und selbst unser Hund wollte nicht mehr abreisen.
Die Umgebung: beindruckend. Viele wunderschöne Orte mit traumhaften Landschaften.
Alles notwendige kann man im Ort einkaufen, wo es einen hervorragenden Bäcker, einen Top- Metzger und einen kleinen Supermarkt gibt.
Selbst zum Shoppen nach Rouen ist es lediglich 50 Minuten mit dem Auto.
Der Vermieter hat uns mit vielen Informationen versorgt, hat immer direkt auf Mails reagiert und alles hat reibungslos und ohne Probleme funktioniert. Ganz große Klasse.
Wir können das Haus uneingeschränt weiterempfehlen un dträumen schon jetzt von unserem nächsten Familienaufenthalt in diesem tollen Haus.

Marc est un hôte hors du commun. Nous n'avons jamais eu tant d'échanges avec des propriétaires lors des précédentes locations.
La maison "respire" l'histoire familiale/des voyages. C'est une vielle dame qui n'a pas le confort d'une maison moderne mais elle a un certain charme.
La literie était très confortable et propre.
La position de la maison est excellente pour le départ des randonnées, pas loin des plages, dans un quartier verdoyant et très calme, proche des commerces de base.
Les enfants ont apprécié le grand jardin.

Wir haben vierzehn wunderbare Tage Sommerfrische als Großfamilie in diesem geräumigen, von einer fabelhaften Veranda und einem großzügigem Garten umgebenen historischen Haus zugebracht. Der fußläufige Weg zum erfrischend wenig frequentierten, aber überaus reizvollen Kieselstrand von Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer hat unsere Tage ebenso abwechslungsreich gemacht wie die charmanten Orte und Ausflüge in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Herrliche Ferien mithin.

Frankreich pur - Urlaub für Individualisten!
Marc Tillets Ferienhaus ist etwas ganz Besonderes, genau wie die Umgebung in der es steht. Die abwechslungsreiche und immer wieder überraschende Landschaft der Normandie hat uns wieder einmal tief beeindruckt. Die Falaises, die Farbe des Meeres, die Strände, die Schluchten, unglaublich!
Das "Kinderhaus" ist für Kleinkinder bedingt geeignet, aber mit der ausreichenden Menge Erwachsener als Aufsicht können die abenteuerlustigen Zwerge alle Etagen erfolgreich erobern. Unsere knapp zweijährige Enkelin hat hier gelernt, wie man Treppen läuft.
Wir waren mit 5 Erwachsenen, 2 Kindern und 2 Hunden im Haus und hatten reichlich Platz. Die Schlafzimmer sind sehr großzügig. Das riesige Wohnzimmer haben wir kaum genutzt, dafür das Esszimmer und die hübsche Veranda um so mehr. Der große Garten mit dem Baumhaus ist ein Paradies für Kinder und Hunde! Auch wenn unsere kleine Hündin alle Löcher im Zaun entdeckt hat...😊�
Egal aus welchem Fenster man schaut, der Blick geht in die ursprüngliche, wildromantische Natur rund um das Ferienhaus.
Das Haus selbst bietet alles was man braucht. Außer einem guten Korkenzieher und einem Wäscheständer haben wir nichts vermisst. Das Angebot an Literatur und auch Kinderbüchern in deutscher und französischer Sprache ist überwältigend. Man taucht automatisch ein in die Geschichte des Landes, des Hauses und der Familie.
Waschmaschine und Trockner funktionieren prima, es gibt einen riesigen Kühlschrank sowie einen zweiten im Keller. Zwei Hochstühle für die Kinder stehen bereit, für Babys sollte man ein Reisebett mitbringen, für Kleinkinder einen Rausfallschutz. Deutsche Urlauber sollten Bettwäsche mieten, solche Dimensionen hat bei uns niemand zu Hause!😊�
Die Strandkabine ist ein sehr praktisches Highlight, das wir gerne genutzt haben. Der Strand von St. Marguerite ist mit dem Auto in etwa 5 Minuten erreichbar. Wie überall in der Gegend handelt es sich um Kiesstrand, Badeschuhe sind also unerlässlich. Mit kleinen Kindern geht man am besten bei Ebbe zum Strand, die Brandung bei Flut ist nicht zu unterschätzen.
Gerade jetzt in der Corona-Zeit wussten wir die ruhige Umgebung zu schätzen. Keine überfüllten Strände, keine Touristenströme, auch wenn es an manchen Orten lebhaft zuging, wie in Veules Les Roses, das man unbedingt gesehen haben muss! Der Bäcker in Varengeville ist hervorragend , und auch Supermärkte gibt es genügend in der Nähe.

A blissful week!
Marc's home is full of old world charm, is surrounded by woods, and is a short drive from several beaches. For reference, we had two families stay at the house (4 adults, 3 children) and had plenty of space. There are several dining areas to choose from both inside the house and out in the yard, which made for some fantastic outdoor dinners. The house also has its own cabana on a nearby beach, which made it easy to leave all of our things locked up at the beach, and head home for a quick meal. The house also stayed relatively cool on warmer days since it is surrounded by so many trees, providing nice shade. Finally, there is a market, a butcher, and a boulangerie all located less than a mile from the house, which was very helpful since we cooked all of our own meals.
We definitely plan on returning to the beautiful part of Normandy and staying in this home again!

Die Buchung hat, obwohl sehr kurzfristig (eine Woche vor der Anreise), reibungslos geklappt. Herr Tillet hat immer sehr schnell geantwortet und sehr viele gute Tips für die Umgebung gegeben.
Das Haus und der Garten haben eine wunderbare Atmosphäre und bieten reichlich Platz, auch für große Familien.
Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und dennoch ist alles lebenswichtige schnell erreichbar.
Viel sehenswertes ist bereits in fußläufiger Entfernung zu entdecken.
Wir haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub verbracht und die Zeit in der Normandie genossen.

Wonderful relaxed stay
The contact with Marc was really pleasant and clear. We received very much information about the beautiful neighborhood in advance.
We really enjoyed the house. Relaxing in front of the fire place, reading, walking the dog in the very close woods and on the beach. It’s a house for relaxation in a beautiful surrounding. The garden is also very nice and big. Because of the season (winter) we couldn’t enjoy the garden so much, but the view is great and we’ll definitely be back again.

Cette grande maison de caractère offre toutes les conditions d'un bon séjour. Elle est situé dans un endroit calme et boisé, proche de la mer. Ein zauberhaftes altes Haus mit sehr menschlicher und persönlicher Atmosphäre. Perfekte Vorabinformationen und Hilfen durch den Vermieter. Vielfältige Sehenswürdigkeiten und ein perfekter Bäcker/Konditor in der Nähe . Besonders die Parks haben uns (und auch die Kinder) tief beeindruckt. Bestimmt auch im Herbst und Frühling schön ! (Kamine vorhanden)

Wir waren mit 5 Erwachsenen , 2 Kindern und einem Hund hier. Das Haus ist seinem Alter entsprechend ein absolutes Schmuckstück und wir können uns nur den anderen Bewertungen anschließen. Neu dazugekommen ist am Strand die Albatros Hütte die uns unvergessliche Sonnenuntergänge bei einem Glas Wein beschert hat. Sie ist mit 8 Liegestühlen und Tisch mit 2 Bänken ausgestattet.
die Landschaft mit Wald und Steilküsten hat uns fasziniert. Hier spielen Ebbe und Flut eine große Rolle. Alles in Allem ein wunderschöner Urlaub. Die Verständigung in deutscher Sprache mit Herrn Tillet hat war das "iTüpfelchen"

5 Sterne Deluxe
Ich kann mich mit meinen Zeilen „nur“ einreihen in die Liste, der wirklich positiven Bewertungen, die das Haus – und insbesondere der Vermieter – hier bereits erhalten haben.
Das Haus ist tatsächlich außergewöhnlich und nicht das, was man sonst „auf dem Markt“ so findet. Es versprüht den Charme alter Tage, ohne in irgendeiner Form abgewohnt zu wirken.
Ganz im Gegenteil: Alles ist, obwohl in die Jahre gekommen, liebevoll hergerichtet und super ordentlich und sauber.
Es gibt Platz in Hülle und Fülle, so dass man auch mit mehreren Personen seine Ruhezonen findet, sich aber zum Frühstück / Abendessen etc. an einem der großen Tische versammeln und gemütlich zusammensitzen kann. Der Garten ist riesig und sehr schön angelegt. Ideal für Kinder und die Ostereiersuche :O)
Spielmöglichkeiten, einen Grill und weiteres Zubehör findet man in der Garage. Eigentlich könnte man den ganzen Urlaub nur auf dem Grundstück und im Haus verbringen.
Die Umgebung ist sehr schön, aber auch - wie in der Normandie typisch – etwas einsam. Man kann die nächsten Dörfer, den Strand und Restaurants sehr gut fußläufig erreichen. Wer mehr „Trubel“ haben möchte, der fährt mit dem Auto einfach nach Dieppe oder Rouens, beides Städte die man sich anschauen sollte! Auch Étretat ist mit dem Auto schnell erreichbar und absolut sehenswert. Nette Lokale an der Promenade und in der Ortsmitte, aber halt etwas mehr touristenmäßig aufgestellt.
Alles in allem haben wir uns mit 2 Familien wirklich sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt und super erholt.
Und weil das Beste bekanntlich zum Schluss kommt: Ein großes Kompliment an den Vermieter!! Von der ersten Kontaktaufnahme, über zwischenzeitliche Hilfestellungen, bis zur Abwicklung der Formalitäten war Herr T. immer erreichbar, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Der gesamte Kontakt konnte in deutscher Sprache abgewickelt werden – für Leute wie uns mit „schulfranzösisch“ aus den 80’er Jahren – ein absoluter Pluspunkt und in Nordfrankreich schon fast ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal.

Uriges Haus auf tollem Grundstück mit super Einrichtung
Das Haus bietet sehr viel Platz und ist sehr gut eingerichtet. Man kann gut mit 8-10 Personen dort verbringen, da es geräumig ist.
Schön sind die Kamine am Abend und das Außengelände zum Spielen für Kinder.
Schnell ist man am Meer für ein Bad und man hat auch eine gute Anbindung an andere Orte der Normandie. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Un véritable trésor!
Quelle belle maison, qui nous a acceuillis avec tout son charme et son âme d'ancienne demeure de façon indescriptible.
Nos enfants aussi y étaient tellement à l'aise de sorte qu'ils l'auraient adoptée sur le champ comme leur maison de rêves qu'elles ne voudraient plus jamais quitter! Une belle raison de plus pour y revenir. M Tillet étant à notre disposition à tout moment nous a fourni tout renseignement possible concernant sa maison et les alentours.
Merci de nous avoir confié ce véritable trésor de famille où nous tous ont passé une semaine plus qu'agréable.

Wunderschöner Herbsturlaub in der Normandie
Wir (6 Personen und 2 Hunde)waren Mitte September 2017 im Haus von Herrn Tillet und hatten hier eine wunderbare Zeit.
Das Haus und das Grundstück haben sehr viel Charme und wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.
Das Grundstück ist komplett eingezäunt, so dass wir die Hunde frei laufen lassen konnten.
Im Vorfeld haben wir von Herrn Tillet schon viele hilfreiche Tips Zum Einkaufen,Wandern am Strand(Ebbe und Flut beachten) und vieles mehr erhalten.
