We booked this hotel for convenience but would not book again

Good location - close to the action of Thamel. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice

Bed was uncomfortable, the mattress felt lumpy. The basin in the bathroom leaked straight onto the floor. The room seemed overpriced in comparison to other hotels in the area Staff were OK but not overly pleasant Hotel seems to be coasting on the group tour bookings

Great location to explore Kathmandu.

The location was perfect for exploring Kathmandu and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was quite basic and felt culturally specific but more than sufficient and I guess depends on your taste, Service was great and staff helpful.

The Wifi in the rooms was a bit hit and miss, but if that's not important then all is good. I personally found the room noisy with the local shop shutters going up and down as well as the sound of general traffic.

Exceptional

I booked a normal room, and upgraded and they gave me the suit which was really awesome, and they helped me and my wife get to Pokhara the next day. Great place and friendly staff.

don’t pay for an expensive room it’s not worth it

rooms were clean, breakfast is good

the PowerPoints barely worked (bedside ones didn’t work at all), only had one hot shower, power outages, - I stayed in the most expensive room too and it is not worth it

Location is great - centre of Thamel area - lots of restaurants nearby and ATM across the road.

It is a lovely, peaceful hotel right in the middle of the noise and bustle of Thamel. The staff are absolutely excellent.

Great taff and Location. This is the 2nd time I've stayed and this room wasn't as good as the first.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the location in the centre of the tourist area was good. Being able to leave luggage for later collection was good too.

We didn't enjoy the breakfast, but I think that was more cultural than quality. The main issue was the windows kept out no noise coming from the noisy street below or the rooms of the hotel opposite.

Great location right on the edge of Thamel.

It was a lottery as to whether the shower was hot or barely warm. A couple of times I had a near cold shower.

Great location.

The hotel rooms are not very clean. I was woken up both mornings by the staff talking loudly outside my door. I was cold in the room. For almost the same price you can stay at a much nicer hotel in Kathmandu and on top of that breakfast included.

I HAVE STAYED AT THE MARSHYANGDI HOTEL SINCE IT FIRST OPENED, AND HAVE SENT MANY OF HUNDREDS OF TREKKING AND ADVENTURE EXPEDITION TO THIS, MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE HOTEL IN THE WHOLE WORLD. AS WE RESPECTFULLY KKNOW, LIFE ISN'T AT ALL PERFECT, HOWEVER. THE GURUNG, BUDDHIST OWNERS OF THE MARSHYANGDI, ALWAYS GO OUT OF THEIR OWN WAY, DAY OR NIGHT, RELIGEOUS FESTIVAL OR NOT, TO QUITE SIMPLY MAKE YOUR STAY IN KATHMANDU, NEPAL, THE HEART OF THE HIMALAYAS, AS PERFECT AS POSSIBLE...
