This was a beautiful place to stay at the end of our time in Iceland. We had space and privacy but also were helped by the owners and enjoyed our interactions with them. They have a sweet dog and we were generously given free rein of space to walk and explore. Honestly, it just felt like home away from home, but with beautiful views. The skylights and many windows made for winter northern lights viewing to be extra cozy!

We've rented numerous houses and apartments when we've travelled and we've either won the lottery or deserved an A+ for decision-making exactly twice. Narfakot was one of those times.
Other houses might be larger and fancier, but Dagmar's simple studio apartment was absolutely perfect for our family of four. We arrived late at night, and Dagmar made it easy for us to let ourselves in (and we could see the light from the erupting volcano from the kitchen window while our jet lag kept us awake!).
We awoke to wind and sideways rain the next morning, but fresh eggs in the fridge, an electric kettle and ample tea selection, and marriage bliss cake made it all ok. Sustained, we ventured out to see the horses and Krummi, one of two resident dogs and the self-designated tour guide.
Dagmar's house proved to be a great homebase for the start of our Iceland trip. It was comfortable, convenient, and cozy with the most welcoming hosts (human, canine, and equine alike) and none of us will forget Krummi's guided hike along the shore to the lighthouse.
Thank you Dagmar, Krummi, Hekla and family. Your warmth and hospitality were much appreciated.

Perfect!!
This was the perfect spot for us to stay on our amazing Iceland vacation! Spacious, clean, and with the most amazing views of the ocean, landscape, and the stunning Aurora Borealis (even through the skylight window above our bed!). Our hosts were kind and gracious, and we were close enough to amenities, yet far enough to feel the peace of our surroundings. Highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful Ocean-front home
We really enjoyed our time By the Lighthouse. I visited with my college-aged daughter and her friend and we had plenty of room in the space to relax. We cooked a few night and loved the view of the ocean and lighthouse.

Beauty by the sea
This was perfect for our family and running day trips all over. Reykjavik, the Golden Circle and more were easy to get to. The animals on the farm and the view of the sea were a treat.
Our hosts were friendly and accessible and we were happy to we chose this property for our stay. We'd come back in a heartbeat!

Quaint, Warm & Welcoming visit
We had a very, very short stay here, less than 9 hours total but it was perfect none-the-less. We didn’t arrive until 1:30am but the house was warm, welcoming and easy to find. The winds were so strong that we literally ran into the house to find some lovely baked goods waiting for us! It was such an appreciated gesture. We left early the next morning for the Blue Lagoon only a short drive away It’s an expensive country to visit but I’ve never been anywhere so mystical, we hope to return to Iceland soon. Thanks for your hospitality, I wish we would have had time to meet you and spend time on your lovely property!

The perfect place to stay!
Dagmar's cosy apartment is simply wonderful - the perfect place to stay! Dagmar is a great host - she is very hospitable and helpful. The apartment is well located between Reykjavik and the airport, is bright and comfortable and has a gorgious view at the ocean & the beautiful lighthouse. We highly recommend the place - it is the perfect choice for families and also for couples.

Tranquility, near Reyjkavik
Our family of four found a lovely, relaxing way to enjoy exploring the SW peninsula of Iceland. Beautiful views, peaceful walks, quiet and comfortable home. We communed with horses and Krummi the dog, and enjoyed each other and the island.

Idyllic location with stunning views
We wished we had booked more nights here. The host was warm and welcoming and we enjoyed arriving to fresh cakes and eggs. We were hesitant about a studio flat for four, but it was much more spacious than we had expected and the dividers and alcoves in the room created spaces for all of us to not be on top of each other. Perfect location to reach the Blue Lagoon (worth the money), geothermal sites and power station, rocky cliffs and also Reykjavik. We were lucky to have a clear day and watch the sun setting from our balcony over the Atlantic - magical! Would recommend staying here for several days or more, not just as an airport stop over.

SIMPLY BREATHTAKING!
From the moment we walked in the door, our host made us feel at home. We were greeted with fresh eggs and a traditional Icelandic bread that was incredibly good. The pictures do not do this place justice. It's comfortable, the kitchen was perfect and everything was clean. We loved the balcony! The breathtaking landscape gave us a real sense of peace and encouraged adventure. It was the perfect central place for our day trips and we definitely plan on coming back.

Simply Stunning
My family of 4 stayed in late June and had a wonderful time. The flat was charming and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. The view was beautiful from every window!!
We were able to easily drive and see the golden circle as well as exploring all the peninsula had to offer. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others as well.

Perfect place to relax into Iceland
The property was even more beautiful and peaceful than the photos. We loved our stay here. It was a family trip with 2 teenage boys and they loved exploring the surrounding area and playing with the dogs and horses!

My family of four loved our time here!
We couldn’t have started out our stay in Iceland at a better place. Having the ocean in the backyard with mountain views on the other side was simply incredible. It was peaceful and inviting. Dagmar’s son greeted us and showed us where our accommodations were. There were homemade bars and eggs from their chickens ready for us, which was such a treat! The place was very clean, tidy and organized. The space was bigger than we expected so even though it was an open studio our two sons still had their own space. The home is perfectly situated for visiting the entire Reykjane Peninsula and Southwest coast. The bathroom is shared but that was never a problem. The spiral staircase was easier to navigate than I imagined, even with luggage. Everything about our stay was perfect and we would definitely consider staying here again if we return to this region!

Exactly what we expected. Just lovely!
We chose this apartment because it looked peaceful and clean and that’s exactly what it is complete with complementary eggs from their farm and “marriage cake” to welcome us. Thank you for the hospitality!

Dramatic, open landscape!
Really lovely (if brief) stay with 2 kids in the open, cozy loft space. We were greeted immediately (with welcoming treats!) on our arrival and left to the quiet of our evening. Would stay again, for longer next time! Thank you so much!!

Great choice!
This apartment is close to the city and airport, yet far enough away to be quiet and have a wonderful, peaceful view. Great base for Reykjavik day trips.
Be sure to bring apples for the ponies and treats for Raven, the dog.
Read the property description carefully and the other reviews. This is a wonderful apt., but it is a farm stay and not a hotel. We loved it, but make sure you can navigate the stairs.
The deck overlooking the lighthouse and ocean and ponies is a place you will not want to leave.

Amazing-Northern Lights viewed from private balcony overlooking Atlantic Ocean
We have stayed at many properties all over the world... This was by far one of our most favorite!! Very clean, spacious, welcoming and waking up to the views of ocean, farm and lighthouse were absolutely breathtaking!! We stood on the private balcony for hours watching the northern lights dance to the sound of ocean waves! And when it got too cold and windy to watch from there... We went inside to our beds where there were skylights placed over the beds to watch aurora show or gaze at stars. The owner was very friendly and welcomed us late at night to her property. There were fresh baked treats waiting for us along with a fine selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate! I highly recommend this house... And it is very convenient to some of the best sights in Iceland, although you may not even want to leave the property at all!!!
