Unassuming sophistication! Sweeping views of the Mussel Ridge Channel, Owls Head harbor and the Atlantic Ocean from every window. Enjoy the gentle, soothing sound of the ocean while you relax in this unique & stylish cottage. Perfect for a small family or couples on vacation.

Just 18 feet from a secluded, clean and private pebble beach; Castlewood Cottage is small, private, completely renovated and beautifully appointed. Exquisite detailing throughout!

New kitchen with granite counter tops, new appliances (dish drawer, microwave drawer, gas stove and oven, refrigerator, Keurig and toaster. Outside is a stainless steel gas grill.

Living room has a 51” flatscreen TV, Hampton Gas Stove and a back up Rinnai heating system. The sun porch serves as a dining area but also has a small day bed for additional sleeping. (1 person)

The downstairs has a full bath as well as a cozy bedroom which offers a double bed.

The second floor is the Master Suite, which offers a king size bed, 2 dressers, a large closet, washer and dryer, a 51” flatscreen TV, a 1/2 bath, and a lovely sitting area, with unbelievable views.

Throughout the cottage is WiFi, Direct TV, Airplay Surround Sound and Apple TV.

Castlewood Cottage is walking distance to the Owls Head Post Office, the Owls Head Lighthouse and the General Store (home of Food Networks award winning “Seven Napkin Burger.”).
Owls Head is also minutes from downtown Rockland, for all major restaurants, (including Primo, recipient of the 2013 James Beard Award), museums, library, movie theatre, food shopping, galleries and boutiques. The cottage is also 13 miles from downtown Camden Maine; perfect for sunset sails, lunch on the docks and charming shops.

Drive to Birch State Park, The Samoset Resort & Gold Club in Rockport and the Owls Head Transportation Museum.

The Knox County Regional Airport : 7 min away
Bus lines to Boston leave from Rockland.

This is the third time my husband and I stayed at this property and we love it for a winter getaway. Quiet, clean, super comfortable and right on a small cove. You can see fantastic sunrises. You can do some rock collecting. We will be coming again!

The Castlewood Cottage is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully decorated with a 180° view of Owls Head Harbor is magnificent. The yard, beach and water views are memorizing! Watching the waterfowl was awesome! We saw: Loon. Mergansers, surf Scoters and best of all Long-tailed ducks. I made a lovely non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner that included Lobster. We dined at Long Grain in Camden, it was Fabulous. We had a MOST MEMORABLE meal at Primo on our last night. We could not have planned a better Thanksgiving holiday. We will definitely return the Castlewood Cottage. Thank you!

Spent 3 nights in October and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Hostess greeted us at the house and was very kind to get the television set up so we could watch the NBA games and ensure we were settled. House was spotless, has fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and a wonderful view of Penobscot Bay. Was easy to find with GPS. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is located on the rock beach. The house is beautiful and comfortable with stunning views of the water. The kitchen is well stocked and cooking and dining in was very easy. The location is very peaceful and isolated, which was perfect for relaxation.

You could not ask for a better house on all levels, in Maine or anywhere else. Gordon was incredible with communication and just ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. The house is perfect, the beds incredibly comfortable, it’s extremely private and is equipped with just about anything you could ever need. I didn’t want to leave! My kids also enjoyed playing at the beach, comfortably slept and loved the stay as well.

Kind of hate pumping this place up because I don't want it to get too popular and limit MY availability but it's impossible not to rave about it. It's a great place, especially as a couples getaway. A nice quiet setting and you have to get at least one meal from the Owls Head General Store ...... and a blueberry muffin.

A lovely, quiet place on the water with great views. The house is just as described, very clean with everything you need. The owners made our stay, including one of our birthdays, so extra special. The only problem is, there's so much to enjoy at the house; the lobster boats, the shorebirds, the soft glow of the lighthouse at night, you won't want to leave. Loved every minute!

To begin, I feel fortunate that we were able to book this property, and shortly thereafter it became clear just how lucky we were. The owners are fantastic -- proactive to a "T" and, when necessary (it was quite minor), hyper quick to react. In less than 10 minutes, to be exact. Location is indeed waterfront and has beautiful views, it is in a quiet location and easily accessible to the Owls Head General Store (10 minute walk) and Rockland, an easy 10 minute drive. We brought kayaks and easily kept them on the beach with equally as easy launching. And, again, the views are spectacular. I cannot recommend this property or its owners enough, who were so communicative and accommodating. We will be back, to be sure.

Made a last minute decision to book castlewood cottage in search of a much needed break from the world. From the moment you pull down the driveway you are in a different world. The placement of the cottage, the views from every room, the care the owners have put into every minor detail all come together to make this place heaven on earth. You can feel the stress melt away. Turned off the phones and laptops and reconnected with the world that matters. Never felt this at peace on any other trip no matter the location. We will definitely return again, thanks again for a wonderful week.

The ocean views are amazing. The property and house are well maintained, clean, and practical. Each area of the home provided its own unique experience and view of the outdoors.
