Beautiful property with spacious rooms, lovely pool, and helpful property manager. Perfect for family vacations and large groups.

House was pretty good overall. Beware of the water source. The well water is extremely salty and not drinkable. we lost a day of being able to use the pool and all of the shower and sink water is well water which was not described in the bio. The host got the pool cleaner to the house and had the pool ready to use within 8 hours of arriving which we appreciated. Other than that the house was great.

I will be writing a negative review on the stay to let other future renters know. Overall it was not a terrible experience but the house was dirty when we arrived like you can tell it has not been deep cleaned. The amount of bugs inside was insane and I know and understand the location but spider webs and dead bugs have been there awhile. There was trash just under beds and behind furniture. The outside furniture was so gross and I cleaned, that’s the best part of the house. The pool was not cleaned. Many broken parts like door knobs, beds etc. for the price and location I just expected more, yes it is outdated but what I really expect is a clean house. The beds very uncomfortable and the water being salt water is hard to get use too. The views are amazing and it has so much potential but until this house got a deep clean and a little cosmetic make over with beds I would not recommend to anyone. It’s a shame because it’s so beautiful. I also would hope they would put a ladder at the dock for future guest. But again, there is no way they had a cleaning service there before us, if so they did not clean. We were hopeful this could be our new spot to meet yearly or take other family vacays at!

We spent five nights here in Lago Vista, and had a great time! The location is far enough away to be secluded, but close enough that we could go into town when we needed something. It is a great place to relax with friends and family.

We had family gather from all over to celebrate graduation. The home was close enough to
The university to attend but far enough out to avoid all the crazy madness in the city. The commute was easy, the home was spacious and had everything we needed. Hosts were prompt to respond to questions also. We brought bottled water and ice- the water was salty but did not cause any shower issues. Would definitely stay here again.

The central feature of our trip was supposed to be the home, but several issues related to cleanliness and maintenance put a damper on the family's overall experience. I informed the manager as soon as possible and I commend their prompt reply and service recovery efforts.
For a property that asks a high rental rate, it's not unreasonable to expect that the home is cleaned and maintained with a high degree of oversight, quality, and consistency. Partial list of items:
1. Fish hook in the carpet near pool table- brother accidentally stepped on it and was injured
2. Wad of hair found on shower wall
3. Rusted utensils - all knives
4. WiFi not working
5.Tips missing on pool sticks, unable to use
6.Table tennis paddles and net damaged, unable to use
7.Several bathroom doors did not lock
8.Trash by pool area (recreational drug paraphernalia)
9.Disposal sink not working
(Observations: 1. As mentioned in other reviews, the water is noticeably salty. Though forewarned by the property manager and probably not anything they can change, it doesn't reduce the fact that its annoying to shower, cook, etc., with salty water. 2. There's a sizable list of "rules" on the lease that must be followed to avoid paying a damage fee)
Pros: The property is big, spacious, and visually appealing; lovely pool area; spacious bedrooms; remote, peaceful location

We LOVED our time in Lago Vista! The home was perfect for our group, there were 10 of us and we had plenty of space to stretch out. The pool was amazing! Kitchen had everything we needed! Even with the water levels low in Lake Travis we were able to use the dock to tie off our 25ft boat. Lake was awesome, and we had a blast in the sunshine and Texas heat. Communication with the property manager was fabulous, she was so incredibly helpful and quick to reply and had solutions for us when we needed them. The home is private and quite, beds are comfortable. The water isn’t great but we knew ahead of time and brought plenty of bottled water and this wasn’t an issue for us. We had an amazing time and loved our stay at Paradise Estate.

I don't normally give one star but this place was terrible. We left a day early and still couldn't get a refund. They don't say kn the listing how bad the well water smells, it stinks to high heaven when you run the bath, like there is a contamination. I have used well water before and it never smelled like that. Spiders everywhere on the ceilings and walls. On top of that they have a million rules and the property manager is a racist. Would severely not recommend. So many moldy and broken cups and food stuck to the utensils. Don't waste your good money on this terrible stay. I am still trying to get a refund after dealing with the rude property manager who said we must not be from here to deal with nasty smelling well water. Well we are "from here" and it was rediculous. If you stay, you have been warned.

The house and grounds are beautiful and the beds, sofas, and all outdoor furniture very comfy! The water at the dock was deep enough for our boat captain to pick us up for surfing even in a drought which was a huge plus for our family. The pool was absolutely dreamy and I felt I could float forever. Please note - walking down to the dock is a real trek, but we all did it twice for boat pickup. Owner does note this on the site, just emphasizing. Also, so many bells and whistles at this house that you have to spend quite a bit of time studying instructions. My internet was unreliable, but my cell phone worked. Overall, great house, great family fun, and a wonderful way to end the summer! Thank you!

This house was amazing
Meika was amazing, she helped to make our stay a truly wonderful experience. The house was lovely and provided everything we asked for. The only draw back was the steep incline down to the lake, but Meika did inform our group in advance. Honestly, our trip was amazing and we highly recommend this home.

Family Vacation to Texas
We met our 3 kids and their families at the Marshall Point house for our annual family vacation. First off let me tell you that we had a great time at the house. The home worked very well for our family and the Austin/Lake Travis area was a fantastic place to visit. However, there were a few issues with the house that future vacationers should be aware of.
While the house is beautiful, has many great amenities as well as a perfect location, compared to other vacation properties we have rented around the US and Europe in the same price range, it is pretty dated and worn (inside and out). For us, it was not an issue because it is such a beautiful home and we had so much fun, but it could be for some.
The stairs inside and out were a constant source of concern because we had 3 grandkids under 4 with us (as well as a gimpy grandpa ... me!). We have learned over the years that stairs with these types of vacation properties are part of the deal and we were prepared to deal with it.
The salty water situation at the house was a bit of an issue. We read the reviews and listened to the property managers warnings regarding bottled water and ice. However, you could still taste the salt when using the dishes, glasses and utensils. So, a trip to the store for paper and plastic plates, cups and utensils was needed. The environmentalists in the area would have a field day if they saw the amount of plastic that ended up going into the local landfill during our stay. At a minimum, you would think the owners could at least provide a couple of 5 gallon "Sparklets" water bottles and a dispenser or two in order to cut down on the waste created by the drinking water issue.
Despite the 3 issues noted above, the Marshall Point home has so many pluses. We felt that we got our money's worth by renting the property. The entire family raved about great the house was for our family and we would come back, and we would recommend the home to others if the opportunity presented itself.

Great property & just what we expected
The house and property was just as pictured and as the property manager Bryan described! We had 16 people ages 1-65 and everyone was comfortable! Bryan did a great job explaining the few unique features of the house. The deck and hot tub were amazing. The beds were all super comfortable - including the bunk beds. And when we were inside we enjoyed the game-room to the fullest. The two things Bryan make sure to tell us before hand were that the water is salty…. can’t be consumed. (need to byo drinking & cooking water) and the walk to the doc is steep. Knowing this ahead of time we were prepared!
My only suggestion : there should be a water cooler for the guests ( like the 5 gallon cloisters or something similar). Bringing 5 days worth of water for 16 people is a pretty big hassle and creates a ton of recycling. For a property like this - clean drinking water should be provided.
5 stars and we would recommend!

Perfect for a large crowd!
We enjoyed celebrating a big birthday weekend with friends. It was nice for everyone to have their own bed and bathrooms. Loved the pool, of course! The property manager, Bryan, was very responsive and did a great job making sure we had all of the information we needed beforehand. Overall, an excellent time!

Big beautiful house and great pool
I stayed at this house for a week with a total of 16 family members. Overall we had a wonderful time and the house matched the description and photos. Other than the bunkroom, the bedrooms were large and comfortable. The kitchen and grills worked well, and had all of the equipment and supplies we needed. The pool and hot tub were comfortable and easy to use. The property manager was very responsive. We had an issue with lack of hot water when we arrived. He had a serviceman out the same day to fix it. The only issues with the house were things we knew about in advance - the tap water is salty and the house is very remote from other houses and shopping. I would definitely consider staying here again if we come back to Lake Travis.

Beautiful house, above and beyond service
When our lake getaway turned into a snow covered trip complete with sledding, Bryan and owners went above and beyond even the highest level of customer service we could expect. I can't say enough about how great they really were to work with. As for the house - couldn't imagine a better set-up to take refuge. The bar area with pool table, game tables and the big tv were great for enjoying the amazing views during the day and hanging out late into the night. The spaciousness of the house with they various rooms had a bit of something for everyone - main room and the kitchen was the eating gathering spot to the dining room and hours of talking over some wine up to the observatory for curling up with a book and soaking in the 360 views, all of it amazing. That's even before you get to the huge outdoor deck overlooking the infinity pool and the peacefulness of the large lot. We can't wait for a chance to go back in the summer and have a completely different, and still amazing, experience with all the house has to offer. And again, we can't say again how great Bryan and the owners were through it all.
