Enjoy a holiday away from the crowds! In a village near to Bled, our holiday apartments are surrounded by picturesque views and superb walking and cycling country. Great in summer, but also spectacular in Autumn, with golden trees and snow-capped mountains. Just right for a Half-term activity break! Our apartment is a peaceful haven for relaxation. We chose the house for its ideal location in a tranquil village surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet just 1.8 km from the busy tourist resort of Bled.
The Balcony apartment occupies the whole of the upper floor. It has balconies to the front and rear, 2 bedrooms, a living/dining area and a modern shower room. Furnishing and decoration is to a modern style, providing everything you need for a comfortable holiday, including multi-channel TV, free Wi-Fi internet connection and a fully equipped kitchen.
We have always achieved the highest standards of cleanliness. We clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.) before you check in.
From the front balcony there are stunning views of Mt. Stol (2,236m) The rear balcony offers views across the river valley, of cattle grazing in meadows, and wooded hills. The balconies have direct access from the bedrooms and lounge. Have breakfast in the sun on the rear balcony and watch the sun go down while enjoying a glass of wine on the front.
Both bedrooms have large double beds and lots of wardrobe space. All windows are double-glazed and all rooms have central heating. We provide all bedding and towels and all the kitchen equipment you need.
In the village there is a restaurant in a big hotel and a small shop and bakery that sells basic provisions.
Getting around is easy. There lots of astounding walking and cycling routes. We provide our own guides of local walks starting from our house to help you get the most from your stay.
To go further afield public transport from Bled is excellent. In high season a free tourist shuttle bus will take you from our village into Bled. There are coach tours to many tourist attractions. If you have a car, there is easy access to the main AutoRoute and all the many attractions of Slovenia.
Try swimming in Lake Bled in summer, or biking, canoeing, rafting, pony-trekking, fishing, golf, mountaineering and much, much more. This beautiful country also offers many sightseeing opportunities including the Julian Alps and the famous Triglav National Park as well as many places of historical and cultural interest.
For young children there is plenty to do, with lots of playgrounds and plenty of opportunities for mixing sunshine with water, either in rivers and lakes or swimming pools.
Outside of the summer season, spring and autumn are also beautiful times in Slovenia, ideal for rambling, cycling and many other outdoor activities.

John and Elaine are excellent hosts. They live on site, and were there for any of our needs. Their place is immaculate, and was perfect for my family of four adults. Their location is in the quiet town, Ribno, less than ten minutes from busy Lake Bled. It was nice to escape from the crowds of tourists at the end of the day.

Lovely apartment in a stunning setting
A fair-sized, clean & attractive apartment where the balconies along two sides had fantastic views. Charming village near to beautiful, but touristy, Bled. Easiest to access by car although walking & cycling quite easy. Helpful proprietor nearby.

Quiet, clean, comfortable
John and Elene were excellent hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. John provided clear and precise directions to the apartment, to the point that I did not need GPS to find it. He provided all we needed to know about visiting Slovenia and the surrounding area. I would highly recommend, and I would stay there again.

Lovely apartment with splendid views from both balconys. Set in a peaceful village.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ribno, a comfortable 30 min walk into Lake Bled. Lots of other walks from the door step. Good friendly bar just a few mins away . The apartment was very comfortable & well kept .The shuttle bus from Hotel Ribno into Bled & other places very convenient and at 1 Euro very cheap , only operates in the summer months though. Beautiful place, would definitely go again.

Delightful apartment in a stunning location.
This was our third trip to the Lake Bled area. The delightful Balcony Apartment is in a stunning location in the village of Ribno, a couple of kilometres south of Bled. The apartment had everything we expected, plus lovely views from all windows. John and Elaine were very friendly and helpful, with lots of useful advice. We stayed for six nights, but wished we had come for much longer; this is an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring the local area. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay with John and Elaine was exceptional. Ribno, a small village near Lake Bled, was the perfect base for experiencing everything this area has to offer. The apartment was well-equipped and comfortable.

Lovely Apartment & Beautiful Area
Everything was exactly as described, a smart and well equipped apartment. The arrival instructions worked well and any problems were quickly resolved. It was a comfortable walk to the lake and easy drives to the area's other highlights.

We were two adults and a child staying in this two bedroom "Apartment Balkon". It's the top floor of a lovely "alpine cottage" with balconies and stunning views. Below us was another two bedder and below that a single bedder. On arrival we were met by the owners representative Wendy who explained everything and provided much local advice. The apartment was very clean and tidy, plenty spacious enough for us, with a lovely bathroom. Although we always ate out there is a kitchenette, and downstairs a washing machine. There is a church in the village and its chiming every 15 minutes is very quaint ! The village has a couple of nice local restaurants and up the road is a hotel serving great buffets! There is also a local grocery store in the village which we only found on our last day but it is excellent. Bled is close by, a 10 minute drive through great countryside and small villages. The owners were in UK but maintained excellent communications.
Overall we had an excellent stay and would recommend this accommodation.

A lovely apartment
This was our second stay in this property and again it didn't disappoint. The apartment is extremely well equipped and very comfortable, with great views from the balcony. In our opinion, it is a major plus being just outside Bled in the lovely hamlet of Ribno. It is easy to get into Bled and all its many attractions by car, bike or foot, but the location also provides a quieter and more authentic experience of rural Slovenia. Another great experience.

The balcony apartment was fresh, clean and welcoming. Beautiful views from the dual aspect balconies
This was our first trip to Slovenia and it did not disappoint. The roads were easy to navigate. English widely spoken. People incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming.
There are many walks from the apartment which were very enjoyable.
Lake Bled was in reality as stunningly beautiful as the many images of this location would suggest. Rowing on the lake to the island or walking around the lake was fun and relaxing. The riverside cafe culture in the Capital was charming. Lake Bohinj an easy drive away. Emerald rivers, beautiful lakes, scenic drives, gorges, caves, mountains, waterfalls, castles - there really was so much to see and do. The 18 hole crazy golf course in Bled was also a lot of fun and provided many challenging holes which
For those who enjoy being active outdoors in the midst of spectacular scenery then Slovenia is fantastic with hiking, biking and water sports in plentiful supply. Equally it is a very relaxing and inspirational location especially if you enjoy photography or drawing.

Perfect accommodations for our stay
We were traveling with our college aged son and this apartment was perfect for the 3 of us. Beds were comfortable and living area worked out great as well as the kitchen convenience. The views were picturesque and the town was close to Bled but nice to be away from the main town. Bled itself is beautiful! Bright, clean, modern, welcoming
The location is ideal, tranquil but convenient for shops and motorway. It's nice to explore the local area on foot, but the Triglav National Park is an easy drive. The apartment is clean, bright and well-equipped, with wonderful views from the balcony. We'll definitely be coming back.

A wonderful country and a wonderful place to stay
The flat has been renovated recently and very tastefully furnished in contemporary style. Very comfortable double bed in each room, nice bathroom with excellent shower. Big TV with satellite, and very well equipped kitchen area, plus balcony with wonderful views of the mountains. An extraordinarily comfortable and peaceful place to relax in the evening. The location is great if you have a car: Lake Bled, shops, restaurants, motorway to Ljubljana and Triglav National Park easily reached. If you've never been to Slovenija before, it combines Alpine mountains in the north, Adriatic Coast in the south, and some beautiful old cities. People generally very friendly and English very widely spoken. Clean, safe, good roads, supermarkets have everything you would expect in Western Europe. All in all, a wonderful country and a wonderful place to stay. John and Elaine are very hospitable and do their best to make sure you enjoy your stay. We loved the place and will definitely be back

Wonderful apartment in a unique setting.
Just 2 km from Bled, this gem of an apartment, set in the tranquil village of Ribno, has stunning views of surrounding mountains and forests.The property was spotless, comfortable and well equipped for self catering. Two generous sized bedrooms, each with a balcony, what better way to wake up, than to the sound of church bells! There were useful suggestions/maps for local walks from the apartment in addition to the tourist brochures.Within walking distance we would recommend Petelini's restaurant plus a well stocked local shop. From Bled there is a good bus service. I would recommend trips to Ljubljana and Bohinj. For flexibility we'll hire a car next time. John and Elaine were most welcoming and went out of their way to ensure that we made the most of our holiday. The greatest compliment is to return, and we will.

A perfect stay!
We (a couple with two children under 10) had a superb stay at John and Elaine's immaculately clean apartment, The location is perfect, in a pretty little village with amazing alpine views. Lake Bled is just down the road and all the other major Slovenian sights a short car-ride away. We fell in love with Slovenia and will definitely return. John and Elaine are the perfect hosts. It was great to know that they were downstairs if any problems arose.

Great place to relax!
If you are looking for a place that is close to Bled but is not busy with tourists, then this is a great place to stay. Located in the village of Ribno, this is the perfect place to have as your base while discovering the areas of Bled, Bohinj and the Julian Alps. The apartment is a 30 minute walk ( 5 minutes by car) into Bled and is a nice and quiet place to unwind and relax after a day of sight seeing. John and Elaine are very hospitable hosts, and have provided most of the conveniences one would expect to find in a rental property. The only thing missing was air conditioning – that would have made this place a 5 out of 5 for us.
Clean, neat and simple, the balcony apartment will appeal to ever taste. You will not be disappointed.

A nice apartment outside of Bled
My husband and I along with another couple stayed in this 2-bedroom apartment for 3 nights in early June 2013. The apartment was clean and bright and was exactly as it was described on the website. The homeowners are very friendly and live on another floor of the house so if there were a problem, they would be easy to get a hold of. The only real downside of the stay was that full payment, with a 100 Euro deposit, was required prior to arrival. The homeowners requested this through bank transfer. Since my credit union wanted to charge a fortune for an international bank transfer, I used Western Union, which used a bad-for-me exchange rate. I believe the homeowners will actually accept Paypal, but I didn't know this at the time and I wish I had because it would have saved me some money. The homeowners were nice enough though to just pay me the deposit back in cash upon our exit since the Western Union process was complicated. Overall, I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to visit Bled but wants to get away from all the tourists.

Wir haben einen sehr schönen Familienurlaub im Rande des Triglav-Nationalparkes verbracht. Die Wohnung war geräumig, sauber und modern eingerichtet. Die Vermieter sind freundlich aber nicht aufdringlich. Die Kommunikation ist in Englisch, Deutsch und Französich möglich.
Ribno liegt sehr ruhig etwas ab vom geschäftigen und touristischen Treiben Bleds; kleiner Vermutstropfen: die Dorfkirche hat ein schönes Glockenspiel.....
Die Nähe zur Autobahn macht neben eines Wander- oder Radelurlaubs in den Bergen auch eine optimale Erkundung des schönen Landes möglich - bis hin zu einem Abstecher nach Venedig.
Insgesamt ist diese Unterkunft für einen schönen erholsamen Urlaub sehr zu empfehlen.

We really loved the appartment. It was spacious, clean and beautifully furnished. Each room had just the necessary furniture, decorations where present and they were chosen with the utmost taste. One could relax here well, because the furnishing did not distract attention. The two balconies on both sides of the house had ample space for the four of us. I enjoyed waking up and going to the balcony with the beautiful view of the valley and drink my coffee there in the morning sun. All the things one needs at home were provided; all the necessary kitchen stuff, TV with many channels, laptop, books, games, cleaning stuff, etc. We also made use of the washing machine in the house. We were happy that there was free wifi connection too.
The apparment is situated in a small village Ribno near Bled. We really liked the tranquility there. And we did not mind 20 minute walk to Bled, because we love walking. We even did the longer, scenic walk via the village Selo.
One can do much here, walk around the lake, visit the castle Bled, swim, drink something at one of many terraces, do a long hike in the Triglav national park, visit another lake or just relax. The water in the lake Bled is crystal clear and soooo refreshing when it is hot.

The 'Balcony Apartment' was a fantastic base from which to explore the Lake Bled area. There were two adults and one child in our group and the apartment had everything we required for a six day visit. The apartment was very well equipped, was spotlessly clean and the owners had thoughtfully provided a few items that would come in handy with a young child.
The apartment was in a lovely location, very close to Lake Bled but away from the tourist centre. The village of Ribno is delightful, lots of beautiful walks through the village out onto meadows and along the river, we could have spent a week just exploring this area alone.
John and Elaine couldn't have been more helpful when we were organising our holiday, and were extremely swift in acknowledging payment and returning our deposit. A great holiday, thank you.

Die Wohnung ist sauber ung gut eingerichtet, die Vermieter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage der Wohnung ist (mit Auto) perfekt: Man ist recht schnell in Ljubljana, in Kärnten, in den verschiedenen Gebirgen und auch am See. Zu Fuß braucht man ca. 20 Minuten zum See. Von der Wohnung aus kann man einige gute Wanderungen machen, die die Vermieter auch gut beschrieben haben. Außerdem kann man 5 Minuten von der Wohnung entfernt in einem Fluß Forellen angeln.
Insgesamt ein schöner Urlaub, den ich jedem, der nicht unbedingt im Zentrum wohnen will, empfehlen kann.

We found the apartment simply by trawling through the internet and were very glad that it was available for the week we wanted. The owners, John and Elaine, were extremely helpful all the way through the booking process and while we were there.
We stayed in the middle apartment (one double bedroom, large sitting room, good-sized kithchen and bathroom). The apartment was extremely clean and very well equipped, with everything we needed. It boasts some slightly idiosyncratic technology (the cooker and the TV), but we managed to work them out, with John's help!
We appreciated the separate-ness of the three apartments - there is a shared washing machine, but apart from that the apartments are completely independent of each other, even down to having individual outdoor areas. We had exclusive use of the gazebo, where we were able to shelter from the torrential rain on day one of our stay.
The setting is ideal, with some spectacular views over the valley and the mountains. It's about half an hour's walk from Bled, so you are not in the thick of things but are close enough to get there easily. We didn't have a car and didn't ever find that we needed one: there are some brilliant walks which start from the house itself, and plenty more around Lake Bled. (One day we walked all the way from the village to and through Vintgar Gorge and back... Take plenty of water!)
We did most of our food shopping in Bled, but made use of the village shop, which is reasonably well stocked, and does good bread first thing in the morning. We ate at Stefanu's restaurant a couple of times: the food is of varying quality but the owner is delightful.
All in all we had a fantastic week there. We'll definitely be singing the praises of Bled as a holiday destination, and will certainly recommend this apartment.

Das Ferienhaus kann jederzeit empfohlen werden. Es ist frisch renoviert, sehr sauber und das Gastgeber-Ehepaar ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Die Lage in Ribno ist ideal, insbesondere für Fahrradausflüge. Ribno selbst liegt nahe an Bled, so daß man in kurzer Zeit (mit Fahrrad oder Auto) dort ist. Wenn man jedoch lieber einen Disco-orientierten Urlaub sucht, sollte man lieber direkt in Bled nach einer Unterkunft suchen.
Für vier Personen sind die Appartements (wir wechselten nach einer Woche vom Appartement im ersten Stock ins Erdgeschoß) vom Platzangebot nicht sehr üppig, aber ausreichend. Im Erdgeschoßappartement muß für das zweite Paar zum Schlafen die Schlafcouch im Wohnzimmer benutzt werden, was etwas lästig ist (man schläft darauf jedoch gut).
Im ersten Stock kann man zum Abendessen auf dem Balkon sitzen und die wunderschöne Aussicht geniessen. Dieses Appartement hat uns insbesondere wegen dieser Möglichkeit etwas besser gefallen.
Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden diese Appartements jederzeit unseren Freunden empfehlen.

This beautiful apartment (we rented the two-bedroom apart. on the upper floor) is located in a small village close to Bled. From the balcony we had wonderful views of the mountains. The apartment itself is modern, bright, tastefully decorated and very quiet. The kitchen has everthing one needs and more for a longer stay. Four of us stayed in the balcony apartment and the place exceeded our expectations! Newly renewed, with a beautiful view, clean and a comfy bed. The stay was very relaxing - the owners are very accommodating and helpful (and so nice to chat to!).
We rented the apartment in winter, for a skiing holiday - really recommend if you are a beginner. You do need a car though to get to the ski resorts.

Two of us visited this property in October 2010 and rented the top flat with balconies back and front. The property was in very good condition, very comfortable, clean and well equiped. There was plenty of information in the flat on things to do and see in Slovenia and the property owners were on hand with extra advice when needed.
The kitchen/dinning area and sitting room of the flat are combined and the cooking area is quite small but this did not matter as we ate out a lot and did cook some simple suppers some evenings. Take advantage of the welcome food pack on arrival as it was very generous.
There is a lot to see in the country but with only a 5 day trip we kept to the area near the Julian Alps which is unbelievably beautiful, a great walking/ hiking and climbing area. Pretty much all Slovenians speak english which was a great help and they were all very friendly.
The village of Ribno where the property is is a beautiful village, lots of chalet style buildings plenty of walks roundabout without the need to get in the car and a restaurant and small hotel if you don't fancy cooking.
We'd love to go to Slovenia again and wouldn't hesitate to go back to this flat.

It's about 20-30 minutes walk into Bled and a pretty walk through meadows and houses. There is a garden with apple trees and we arrived in apple season so we took advantage! The tourist information centre in Bled was good and provided maps so we could walk in the local area. It's not too far to get to the spectacular caves in the south or up to the Austrian border in the north. Good supermarkets in Lesce. All in all we would return to this area and to the apartment.

We spent a very pleasant stay in this apartment. Everything is made for comfort. That is fine for 4 people. It's very clean, the equipment is large and modern. The neighborhood is very quiet. I recommend this property for lovers of nature and quiet.

We are a group of four friends in our late 20s and we stayed in the balcony apartment for a week at the end of July. We hired a car from the airport but hardly used it throughout the week apart from when we went shopping. The lake is within walking distance and there are lots of lovely walks straight from the front door. We had a very hot week and really enjoyed cooling off in the lake and paddling in the nearby river, which we reached by walking from the apartment and through the woods. We were really pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the apartment and were also very impressed with how well equipped it was. We quite often cooked at home in the evenings and there was nothing that we needed and couldn't find. We would highly recommend this apartment. The owners were fantastically helpful while we were booking, and they provided a lot of local information and maps prior to our trip which we found very useful. We are already planning to go back.

We had a wonderful holiday in this apartment, our first family holiday with our 15 month old daughter.
We were very happy with the apartment, and loved the fact that the living room, and kitchen diner were separate, as it meant we could keep our little one away from the interests of the kitchen drawers and cupboards, and with the dvd player in the lounge, which kept her amused while we were cooking! The apartment was decorated to a high standard, and was very comfortable.
We could walk to Bled with the pushchair in half an hour, or five minutes in the car. We were able to explore Bled, and North West Slovenia extensively, as well as into Austria and Italy, with a car with Ribno as a base, but enjoyed the peace and tranquility, of being a little distance outside of the main tourist area in Bled.
We chose Slovenia, as the weather was not as warm in August as other places in Europe, and how right we were, between 28 and 30 degrees was perfect, and allowed us to be out and about with the baby without being too hot.
We would recommend Slovenia for a holiday for anyone, young or old!
Our only slight disappointment was that we could not use the summer house, as there is a steep slope beside it, which is not safe for young children, but I suspect that this will be rectified with a rail or fence when the garden has been finished, and if that is the case, would love to go back.
