You enter Marijke through a particularly large and cozy living room arranged in a conservatory with a wood stove. Authentic sliding doors provide access to both the living room and dining room, both very comfortably furnished with a dining table, large sofas, and a television. The kitchen is also well-equipped (with a new freezer and dishwasher) and offers views over the water of National Park Lauwersmeer from every room.
Holiday home Marijke is well-equipped with three bedrooms for up to six people. One bedroom has a double bed measuring 1.80m x 2.00m, one bedroom has a bed measuring 1.40m x 2.00m, and one bedroom is equipped with bunk beds.
The spacious bathroom has a bathtub and a shower. You will also find a toilet, a bidet, and a washing machine here.
The conservatory, dining room, bathroom, and one of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The rest is two steps higher. House Marijke is one of the largest holiday homes.

In addition to its large conservatory, Marijke has a covered terrace, a spacious garden, a BBQ, and private access to the water. Parking is available on-site.

There are three German channels and dutch cable tv, the use of wifi and washing machine is free of charge and Marijke has a height difference of 2 steps in the house. Baby cot and high chair are available additionally on request.

Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts.
The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers. Dogs are more than welcome here as well. There’s a special beach and a forest for them at Lauwersoog.
Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘de Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city. In Esonstad you’ll even find a bouncy castle and an indoor playing hall and one can play golf and foot golf here at the local Pitch & Putt area. Renting a bicycle or e-chopper is also possible here.
In Esonstad you can easily do your daily groceries (a bigger supermarkt is just a couple of kilometers away in Anjum) or find a restaurant, pizzeria or a snackbar.
Another three restaurants are even closer to your holiday house. Some of them offer spectacular lake views. Other good options to enjoy the local seafood cuisine are the sea harbor of Lauwersoog at the northern side of the lake, the old fishing village of Zoutkamp at the eastside of the lake or at Dokkum, the most northern fortified city of Friesland.
To discover the National Park from the waterside you could bring your own boat or surf gear but there are boats and sailing boats for rent as well at ‘Paviljoen La Barca’. If you’re more into cat sailing, try the local cat-club ‘omaho’, next to the small marina.
A boat-tour, sailing trip to Dokkum, bird or seal expedition can be booked around the corner and a ferry to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog, with it’s many miles of sandy beaches, is leaving from Oostmahorn as well.
The Lauwerslake (Lauwersmeer in dutch) is truly loved by fishermen for its large bream, roach, pike, perch and eel. At the reception of Holland1 you can obtain a fishing permit.
Do you like to walk and do you want to relax? Then visit the fishing village of Paesens-Moddergat with its small museum and experience the Wadden Sea World Heritage with its largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world. Hiking over the mudflats of the Wadden Sea certainly is one of the most memorable activities in the Netherlands. Guided tours can be booked here every day of the year.
Or just stay and enjoy yourself at your holiday house. Just don’t forget to look up at the universe on a clear night. With the title Dark Sky Park, Lauwersmeer National Park is one of the world’s darkest places. Here, you can truly experience nature in the dark!

Hundeurlaub
Perfekt für Hundebesitzer, Garten ist eingezäunt. Allerdings kann man in der Nähe nur in der Ferienanlage Gassi gehen. Sonst ist da nix. Der nächste Hundestrand (am Süßwasser-Binnenmeer) ist 15 min. mit dem Auto entfernt. Wenn der Hund aber kein Problem mit Autofahrten hat, hat man schöne Ausflugmöglichkeiten.
