About this cottage rental
Hael Farm Cottage has an open plan living area sited above the sleeping accommodation. Two sets of French doors afford extensive views over the surrounding countryside with many species of bird attracted to the garden. Nearby a pair of buzzards nest and there is a resident owl in the vicinity. The kitchen area has a full range of modern appliances with a utility area adjacent with washing machine and tumble drier. A log burner offers a focal point for the sitting area which is equipped with wall mounted flat screen TV, Sky, and internet access. The dining table seats 6 comfortably.
The ground floor sleeping accommodation consists of a double bedroom, twin bedroom with en suite bathroom, and a single bed room. The fully tiled bathroom includes a shower and a shaver point. The double and twin bed rooms have French windows opening out onto a paved area.
The cottage has a garden area complete with barbeque and views across the fields. The cottage is in a secluded location, with the nearest house ¼ mile away, except for the owner’s farm house which is adjacent. It is approached down a farm track and bridle path, which opens out into the farm yard, with a natural duck pond.
The bridle path leads to Pwlldu Bay via a woodland trail and the bays at Pobbles and Three Cliffs are close at hand, with the unique “links in the sky” of Pennard Golf Club sitting on the cliffs above. The well stocked village shop and tea room is approx. ½ mile walk from the Cottage.

Very well positioned for lovely walks. 😍

This is a very isolated location, which is what we wanted. A nice living area upstairs. Bedrooms small but OK. 2 mile walk down to the ocean.

Fantastic stay at this cottage. The rental was very well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and utensils and the bathrooms also had a plentiful supply of fresh towels. There was also a good supply of cleaning products should you need them. The beds were very comfortable and linen was all very clean and fresh.
Hosts were close by if needed , and were happy to give advice on places to go and give valued tips on the local area.
Overall a lovely place to stay for walks, beaches and exploring the surrounding area. Beautiful house in a beautiful location.

Idyllic Stay on the Gower
We had a great time at Hael Farm Cottage, which is ideally situated for walking and exploring the Gower. Cafes and a good shop nearby with other pubs and restaurants in walking distance. Stunning clifftop or woodland walks are easily accessible from the cottage. Would certainly recommend.

Great location and homey
John the owner could not have been more helpful. The home was very nice and in a perfect location. The cliffs were within walking distance and well worth the walk. A couple coffee shops were less than a mile away. Also within driving is the Cardiff castle and St. George’s cathedral. We stayed five nights and it was a perfect cottage to stay in. Many thanks to John.

Indoors, outdoors - ideal
The property worked perfectly for a group of friends who wanted a communal space for preparing food and socialising. The kitchen was v well equipped. The location was perfect for exploring the Gower - walking from the house or going just a short drive away.

Lovely cottage
Family gathering for a big birthday. The cottages is lovely, with everything provided. It is in a beautiful location and there's a pretty walk through the woods to the beach right outside the door. We had our dogs with us and it is quite muddy as it was a farm, so recommend packing old towels to clean the dogs. There is no fenced garden, but there is a big field for dogs to run in. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Great cottage and location. Highly recommend
Lovely cottage and quiet location. Cottage was spotless. The owner, Jon, was very helpful throughout the booking and stay.
I can't fault the cottage really. All needs met and we couldn’t find anything that wasn’t there! Log burner was a real plus due to the cold weather. Liked the spacious living area upstairs. Bonus that 3 Cliffs is well within walking distance. Would re-book without hesitation. Look forward to a longer stay sometime.

Nice Cottage
Very nice cottage which has got everything we need, and very clean. Good location with beautiful views. My daughter enjoyed watching the lambs from the window. The welcome basket is really sweet. And thanks Jon's advice for the Oxwich beach, our whole family had a good time there. It is definitely a place that we will consider come back in the future.

Beautiful setting, but needs a good clean
This property is in a superb position. The beds were comfy and it had everything you need. However, the toaster was filthy, the washing machine was full of black mould and smelt dreadful was unusable as was the toaster. The ensuit has no window and a thick mould was all around the inside and outside of the shower cubicle it took us all afternoon to get it clean enough to use with mould and mildrew remover. The sofa was covered in splash marks I would imagine from a wet dog?? This needed a wipe over as it was leather. All of these things sadly let it down.. the knife and fork drawer was dirty we had to take the tray out and wash everything in it as well as the tray itself. We don't expect to book a property and then have to proceed to clean it. Although we never used the toaster (health hazard and the washing machine) once we had cleaned up the place we enjoyed our stay. It just needs a critical eye and someone to check these things. Another small thing was the welcome basket had an already open pack of something with a peg on it. This is not right. A welcome pack should be all fresh not someone's left overs. (only on one item in it was already used) again. Attention to detail is important. The owner Jon was pleasant but made no comment at all or apology when I politely pointed out he may want to check out the washing machine I never mentioned the other things as it was obviously not bothering him at all...... Just don't understand the lack of interest. Such a shame.... it could be magnificent. We won't be returning to this property.

Great well-equipped cottage in the heart of the Gower
Hael Farm Cottage had everything we needed and more. Upside-down layout was perfect and we had a very comfortable stay. Location is great with fantastic coastal walks right from the front door. We would consider booking again and will certainly recommend to others.

beautifull secluded location with a fabulous village shop.
With the directions given the car sat nav took us straight there. We found a well presented, well-appointed three bed cottage waiting for us at the end of the lane. The hosts were great and very welcoming.
From the house you can gain direct access to the network of foot paths and bridleways. Three Cliffs Bay is about 25 minutes’ walk (less if you park in the National Trust car park by the shop. Take your membership card and it’s free). The beach at Three Cliffs takes dogs as did the beach at Rossili where we had decent surfing. We climbed at Three Cliffs and below Southgate where there numerous bolted sports routes, you will need to able to do F5+t o get a route here though (F5- F8b...). Three Cliff’s offers traditional routes of Mod to VS don’t forget to try Scavenger VS 4c or Under Milk Wood VS 4b if you like a squeeze.
Surfing and body boarding was good at Rossili but there are no life guards, the sea was moderate while we were there but we had fun. The cottage accepts dogs by prior arrangement (extra fee) and ours loved it but tried to dive off a cliff, be warned. Luckily he’s fine and being an intelligent animal has, perhaps, learned an important lesson…
So, we had a good holiday in lovely accommodation and pleasant hosts. The boys bickering over the heating controls in the car certainly wasn’t the cottages fault!
