This amazing home has plenty of room for your family to relax and unwind. With 6 beautifully appointed bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, you can’t go wrong. The vast outdoor area features a heated pool, in-ground spa, built-in water slide, grill, mini fridge, and 65” TV. Practice your short game on the putting green. Play a game of basketball or pickleball on the sports court. Play a game of corn hole, or relax on the lounge chairs around the pool! Too hot outside? Relax in the movie theatre, complete with a projector and surround sound.
Indoor entertainment: In the main living area, you will have a comfortable seating area to watch your favorite team or program on your 65” TV, a kitchen to prepare all your meals, and a family-style table to enjoy dinner. Just off the main living area is a rec space with a pool table, poker table, TV, and high-top table.

Q. How far is the home from Old Town?
A. For those not familiar with the area. Old Town is in the southernmost part of Scottsdale. Our home and most homes you are looking at in the area are about a 15 to 20-minute drive to Old Town. Most rentals in the Old Town area are condos or resort-style hotels.
Q. How does the pool heat work?

Overall I would give this house 2 or maybe 3 stars. We were three families visiting from Michigan. For almost $2,000/night it’s not as well kept and nice as you’d expect or as nice as the pictures look. There is chipped paint in multiple areas of the how, trim falling off, shower door broken and replaced with old curtain, broken tiles by the pool, broken glass all over behind the basketball hoop, the basketball hoop is broken and can’t be raised up, and pickleball court way to small and tight to play a real game. Bathrooms and kitchen are small, fyi. The pool worked well and kids enjoyed it, but the issue was any water from the pool (or rain) floods the out door seating area and kitchen so you have to be barefoot or your shoes are soaked in an inch or two of water. The putting green is not great but fine, corn hole boards are super cheap and they only had 6 bags and all the same color so had to buy our own. Bedrooms all worked out fine, pillows were super cheap and soft, bring your own if you can or buy one there. The management company seemed nice, our hold bags got there a day early and they put them in the house for us. They were supposed to meet us at the house to show us around and how to control the pool, etc, but never showed up. Overall it was just not a well kept property and we felt like they have done everything as inexpensive as possible or do nothing to keep the house up.

This is awesome for people who want activities. Plenty of space and in a great location. Beds were comfortable. We did wash all the cushions from the chairs at the patio tables and power washed the patio and cabana. We are local so had access to a power washer. Definitely needed a good cleaning. We did that because the owner was kind enough to let us have a brunch, and it was a special occasion so we wanted to decorate a little. It looked beautiful after a little tlc. Had a couple of handy men with us and they also fixed the sliding doors which were awesome after being able to open up. Popcorn machine needs to be fixed or replaced. Loved the movie theater. Would stay agin for sure.

The property was very well maintained. Theatre room was perfect for Saturday football. Outdoor kitchen and lounge area was great for our large group. The house slept all 15 bachelors great! The property was perfect for our Scottsdale stay. The only issue we ran into were that the basketball hoop was not functional which was a big disappointment because the main groom/bachelor is really into pick up basketball and would have played if the goal was in better shape/quality. The other downer was that we did not give enough notice to heat the pool and management would not heat it for us last minute despite us being willing to spend the extra money to attempt to raise the temp on the pool (be sure to give notice if this is something you think you will use). We ended up using the pool but not as much as we would have liked to if it wasn’t a cold plunge. Definitely wouldn’t be an issue during other seasons though! Overall our experience at this property was excellent! We would indeed return!

Desert escape was the perfect place for our family to gather! There were so many things we could all do! The pool was absolutely the best! Our grandchildren loved the slide! The basketball court and pickleball court were also a hit! The pool table and poker table were great for family games.The house was just as described! We came into a very clean house! The location was just great.Just a couple of things needed attention: the carpets could have used a spot cleaning for all the dark dirty spots,the bathroom toilet in the master room ran all the time, no outside entry lights on the driveway entry, with 12 people we could have used some extra silverware, there was just enough for the 12 of us, the sliders were really hard to open. Otherwise we all were very happy with our stay at Desert Escape!

The house is great! Lots of room and we had 16 of us that part was Perfect, pool was clean and we had lots of fun in the back yard, couple of things I didn't like, the wifi is absolutely terrible can't even watch stuff on Netflix it's constantly losing signal. Also I've never stayed at a house that had zero spices no salt no pepper i thought that was super weird and inconvenient. The other is the owners are very fast at getting back if you need anything but we tried to check in 30 minutes early and I was told that "I needed to be patient" and under no sercumstances could we check in 30 minutes early so we had to sit in the driveway in the heat for 30 min that was super rude and unprofessional. I would likely stay there again but they need to do something about the wifi.

I stayed at this home for 4 nights with 6 totals guys on a golf trip. The management team is great! I told them we would arrive late (after midnight) and they left all the lights on and snacks and waters in the house for us! Thank you. We had a great time in the pool, spa, outdoor room, movie room, and playing pool.

I’ll start with the positives. The home was beautiful with a great pool and water slide! We also really enjoyed having 3 master suites with en suite bathrooms. The pool table, game table and theatre room were all really great to have! The people I spoke with at the management company were very nice and responded quickly (for example, they got right on the phone with Cox when the internet went down and it was up and running again pretty quickly). The home is in an older but nice neighborhood and a safe area. The linens were all nice and very clean.
Now for the downsides. The carpets were very dirty and stained. The vents, window sills, baseboard, etc. were all very dirty. The window sills had lots of dead bugs and cobwebs. The vent over the stovetop was especially disgusting. It seems that no detailed cleaning or deep cleaning is ever done. I messaged twice before arrival asking if the door to the master suite had been repaired since I noticed that more than one review mentioned that it wouldn’t stay closed. I was assured that maintenance always handles any repairs right away so it was done but they would confirm. I never did get that confirmation. When we arrived we found that it was not repaired. Fortunately one of group is quite handy and was able to do a temporary fix. The other real issue we had is that there was a camera above the pool. While I have no issue with cameras at the garage or front door for security, I find a camera above the pool to be very invasive. I saw no mention of this in the listing and was not told about it after booking.
Overall, a beautiful property but cleaning, maintenance and privacy were an issue.

Fun but some issues
Our family loved the variety of activities available in the home and the numerous bedrooms. It's a gorgeous home that we enjoyed. The theater was great, and our kids particularly loved the water slide. However, there were some maintenance issues that were not resolved during our stay, and we noticed some of those issues were mentioned in previous reviews. This includes bugs (including roaches, scorpions, and spiders), poor pool cleanliness, and a bedroom door not closing properly which did not allow for privacy. Maintenance did come out and showed us how to clean the pool ourselves and was not able to fix the door. After we already cleaned the pool, a pool boy showed up which we did not know about.

Missed the mark for a crowd
The home accommodated our requirements well, however, the property itself was lacking in some areas. The home sleeps 16 yet the kitchen is not setup to support a crowd of that size. It has minimal kitchen supplies and is inadequate to service more then 6-8 people. The doors to the bedrooms would not stay closed, so privacy was an issue. Many small unattended to maintenance items - chair's at card game table were broken and table itself was broken - if you leaned on it it would tilt over. There were no floaties or other items that we saw listed on the advertisement, so we had to go out and buy them. All in all it could have been great, but, fell short due to lack of attention to details. When folks are coming from out of town they cannot bring their own supplies. We were there for 4 days and had to buy everything including soap in the bathrooms. For the price this is unacceptable. It would not have taken much effort on the owners/property managers part to move this review to excellent, as the home was well suited for a large group and for our purposes as a work retreat. TV's were not smart TV's so we could not do simple things like a slide show - who doesn't have a smart TV in 2022? yet has a home theater. Of which is not hooked up as a smart TV. We had to rent a projector. One of the toilets leaked and they were very responsive about getting it fixed. This property was very expensive, so, are expectations were set at that level.

Overall the house was pleasant.
The house was great as far as amenities and size.
The pool was fun and the kids had a blast!
There were a few things that needed to be fixed around the house and you can tell that maintenance hadn’t been done for a little while. I did email the property manager to let them know about some things and they quickly offered to send someone out to fix the issues but we decided that it was not affecting our stay so we did not have them come out.
The property management team was easy to communicate with and always gotten back to me quickly.
I think we would stay at this house again or property that they manage.

We really enjoyed this property. Everything was clean upon arrival. The adults enjoyed the outdoor patio area and our kids got a lot of use out of the pool, putting green and bags area. The one suggestion we would have is to leave commonly used items such as condiments, salt/pepper, etc for the next guests. We purchased all of those items (as a lot of guests probably do as well) and it would be nice to have that kind of stuff there upon arrival. The other issue was that we could never get the hot tub jets to work. Property management sent us videos and instructions and they never did work.
Overall, great stay for three families (6 adults and 8 kids.) We would definitely rent again.

Perfect for our group
Outstanding house. Exactly as listed. The pool and outdoor areas were clean and easy to use. The host paid a lot of attention to small details such as pool floats, putters and gold balls doe the putting green etc. The air conditioning worked extremely well which was very important given the 100+ degree temps during our stay. We’d definitely rent the property again.

Fun trip, lots of texts about the noise ordinance
Only issue I had with the house was the amount of communication sent throughout my stay reminding me of the noise ordinance. These were automated messages, so I wasn’t too concerned, but it did get annoying after getting a reminder each day.

Pretty disappointing
In the photos of this property, there are none of the front or sides of the home from an outside perspective - and all I will say is there is a reason for that…. The backyard is beautiful but we had many issues with things not working. When we entered the home we found a dead cockroach on the floor along with other food splatters and stains on the floor. It did not seem properly cleaned. We were restricted on how cool we could keep the space, 75 degrees was the coolest we were told to go on the thermostat, not to mention in the middle of the night they were automatically set to 80 degrees. The cabana area outside: nothing worked. The TVs, lights, etc. did not work. When I called the property manager this was the response I got “did you read the book about the property on the counter?” Yes. Of course I did. It said nothing about the outdoor areas not functioning properly. We were told to go to the east side of the house, outdoors, to the breaker panel and make sure they were all turned on. They were but we were told to switch them all the opposite direction and then switch back after 10 seconds. That didn’t work. So they told me they would send a technician out. Over three hours pass, no technician. I call again because now the pool slide and waterfall weren’t working. The woman I spoke with said a technician would be calling me shortly. Suddenly, a man was wondering around outside. Did not call, did not announce himself, but just starting rummaging through the outside cabana. The friends I was with were concerned and asked him who he was, in which we finally found out he was the technician. He was able to fix everything which we were really appreciative of, however the day was over and we were able to fully enjoy the outdoor space. Next, on the morning of our checkout: we have until 10am to leave the premises. It was 8am and I was cleaning up in the kitchen and loading the dishwasher and I see a man outside in the backyard in the gated area by the pool. I go outside and say, “excuse me, what are you doing?” And he goes, “oh, uh hi.” Did not answer my question and continued to move things around outside. Then I heard someone rustling around in the garage and it was that same guy. He never entered the home, but we were treated like a nuisance even though we paid for the space through 10am, as if we were supposed to be gone by 8am. There was no professionalism or care for our group and our stay. This was just not the experience we were looking for.
