I deliberately chose the location to be in the more local part of town, and it certainly was. I liked that it was down an alley and away from street noise. Nef and his family were delightful. Although it was nice for a lot of our five days having the place to ourselves. It made me wish for their sake they were more busy. They kept the place sparkling clean.
Could hear the neighbors, but that made it kind a Homey
Cold beer always available in the refrigerator
It was certainly a good value. We would stay there again.
Not perfect, but only minor little things. Maybe you could show the next person the trick with the front door key first thing
Maybe a soft pillow option. Although I slept well.

We really enjoyed staying here - it was quiet, comfortable and really friendly. It's a couple of streets away from the main street which keeps it quiet - we were able to get more sleep and rest here than many other places we've stayed! Nef was an excellent host who made us feel very welcome. One evening there was a powercut and he brought us a candle to make sure we could see. The roof terrace is also very nice and full of plants - it is still possible to see the lake from the corners although a lot of the view is now blocked by other buildings.
Excellent value for money - would definitely stay again.
Not much! Our room only had small windows so was occasionally warm (not much breeze).

Mical was a lovely host, very helpful. Nice room, clean bathroom. Good location close to the local market.

Nice specious terrace
Good position close to everything
Quiet place
Not clean with dirty kitchen and beatles in the kitchen where to was dishes. In 9 days the room was never cleaned. Also the bathrooms have been cleaned only where new guests arrived

Very high standard of cleanliness, cozy rooftop terrace, simple but nice enough kitchen. 2 min away from a fruit and veg market where you can also buy tortillas, perfect for taking some produce home to make breakfast. Shared bathrooms were no problem because everything was so clean. And host is friendly! Also more local feel to the neighbourhood and quiet, but still close to the main street down by the lake. Wifi was mostly reliable, and down speeds around 6-7mbps.

The host was AWESOME! He really helped with all of my questions and everything that I needed. I really appreciated his patience and helpfulness. The room was spacious and comfy. There is hot water...amazing😄 the room can get a bit hot since there isn't much ventilation but the host was awesome and provided us a fan🩵 the rooftop is nice to chill and has a clothing line to dry your clothes. The location is nice and quiet but also close to the street market to get yummy food and like a 10min walking distance to the public boats.
Nothing much that I didn't like. It was weird to see the unwashed dishes used by other people, but we didn't use the kitchen area so it wasn't a problem for us. They are hidden in an alley, so it would be nice to have a sign to point towards that direction or else look for the pacha mama bakery (panaderia) and it's the alley next to it (closest to the door).

Good sized rooms, decent bathroom and kitchen, nice roof terrace and good location. Very friendly and helpful host who answered any questions promptly. For the price it is a very good stay.
Beds weren’t super comfy and would have been nice to have a window as rooms could get a bit stuffy.

Mical was a fantastic host with such a lovely ;family. The location was great as it was local to the busy strip/ centre but very quiet. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay there!

very friendly and helpful owner who helped us with a few things.
good price
nice sun terrace to chill out on.
location was a bit further from the strip and up hill, but it’s only 5 minutes from the main restaurants in town and nice to take a step away.

The house is very clean, nice view of the lake from the rooftop, very quiet but 5 minutes walking from the main street. The host is amazing and very helpful ! We had a wonderful time in San Pedro !
It's not convenient to do the dishes because the sink is upstairs.

The owner was very kind and helpful. It was nice to be out of the touristic zone. The only minus side is the fact that you can hear everything happening in the bathrooms.

Nef was amazing. We had a lovely stay in what felt as our little home. The location is very nice, a bit more in the normal part of town and not on the strip. We would defenitly stay here again!

This was the perfect option for us in San Pedro as we didn't want to stay near the party zone. The location is close to the center and we really liked wandering around the little alleys and seeing the local market nearby. The room was quite spacious and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed breakfast on the roof terrace. Also the owner is very kind and helpful, we booked the Indian Nose tour through him and we had a great time. Overall a good option!
The kitchen was very small and not so clean so I wouldn't use it for cooking, but there are a lot of restaurants in San Pedro! Also the shower is in the same room as the men's toilet so not very convenient.

away from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro - and the host was very kind to recommend local food favourites for us!
the walls are very thin so you end up hearing everything the host family and the other guests are doing - esp because the rooms are beside the common areas. also the shower and tap isn’t always working or warm - pretty hard to navigate!

Great location in a quieter area but very close to the lakefront only about 5 min walk. Comfortable and felt like home. Clean. Kitchen small but good enough and well equipped enough for us to make dinners whilst we were there. Nice sofa area and sunny terrace. Clean water included. Comfy bed. Enjoyed our stay and wouod definitely recommend and return, in fact we extended our stay.
If we had to pick some small faults- As with a lot of places in Guatemala the electric shower meant you had to have very little pressure if you wanted it warm, but this has been the case for us everywhere so far! Confusing washing up system meaning often dishes not washed up by others as I guess we weren't that sure how to. We ended up buying a sponge and doing it in the bathroom sink. Could be a bit noisy if people in hostel are moving about at nighttime as three rooms all look onto the common area.

Everything!
We got the king room on the rooftop, and it was
amazing!!
cool rooftop with hammoc, bench and plants all around.
the place is clean and the room has
a private outer bathroom with hot shower and clean
toilets.
the host is really kind and supportive, and
there’s a kitchen right beside the king
room which is neat.
Really chill and quite place outside of the loud
main streets (if you are into crazy party hostel
that’s not the vibe)
Recommended !!
nothing.

Lovely place, very clean and comfortable. Might be the best choice if you want to stay in San Pedro but not inside the buzzing center. It's quiet but we could always find a tuk tuk to/from the center in less than 2 minutes (or walk).
Just mind that the walk to the street with the most attractions and the dock is 10 minutes in a pretty steep slope, but it's not that bad.

The owner was really welcoming and went the extra mile, the place has a homely feel to it which we thought was great. The hostel is far enough way from the noise but close enough for an easy walk down to the centre. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone!
Nothing at all!

Lovey spot to stay in San Pedro, like staying in a family home, has a small kitchen available for use and a great rooftop to enjoy the views of the lake! very good value for money! Nev and the family are fabulous hosts!

Very interesting little property, we'd stay here again with no hesitation! The view from the rooftop area was excellent and our room was comfortable. Solid internet connection and an extraordinarily kind host. It's a bit of a walk up the hill from the main street of San Pedro, but it's a nice quiet place and it would be very hard to beat the value offered.
The kitchen is a bit of a strange situation, there's no water in that part of the hostel and one has to take the dishes up to another area in a basket. As mentioned, it's a bit up the hill from a lot of the action in San Pedro (maybe ten minutes' walk, at most), but that contributes to it being a quiet spot in a town that can be pretty noisy otherwise.

Great location - in the centre so super convenient but on a quiet side street. As a solo female traveler I felt safe in this neighbourhood. The terrace (full of beautiful plants) is wonderful and the view of the lake is magnificent. The room is basic and clean. I stayed in the king room that has direct access to the terrace. It is slightly more expensive than other rooms but comes with private bathroom. And having direct access to the terrace is a great bonus (makes it feel private as well :) ) The owner is around for any questions or advice if needed. Both him and his family are super nice and respect guests privacy.
I highly recommend this hostel and would be happy to stay there again if I ever return to San Pedro.
Visiting in January it can get a bit chilly at nights. It is great that extra blankets were already provided in the room when I arrived - very thoughtful!
When booking the king room, be mindful that the sink is not in the bathroom but outside on the terrace. Not an issue but not 100% private ;)

Close to the market, dark, quiet, spacious and clean rooms. Warm shower with good pressure and perfect WiFi. Shouldn’t be Netflixing but did it anyway as the internet was so good 😅
We started with a good but for us too hard matras. When we mentioned this we got another room with a comfortable matras.

Booked this place last minute and it didn't disappoint. Definitely felt more like a homestay, clean and comfy. Hot shower, quiet space so we got some good rest. Located close to the market so easy to grab some food in the morning.
