About this cottage rental
Jasmine Cottage is approached along a winding lane surrounded by woodland, which follows the edge of Crickley Hill. Turn off the lane into a green oasis created at the end of the 19th Century by the then owner Sir William Thistleton-Dyer, who was a director of Kew Gardens. Jasmine Cottage is the larger of two semi-detached cottages straight ahead. The sloping land to the side of the cottage has been well looked after for well over a hundred years and was planted with many rare and unusual plants, which the current owners of Crickley Court – Jasmine Cottage's parent location – continue to maintain with great care.
The accommodation is arranged over two floors. On the ground floor are two bedrooms, one ensuite super-king double and one twin (both rooms can be either super-king or twin on request) and a family bathroom. Head up a wide, carpeted staircase to the light and contemporary, open-plan living-dining area and fully equipped kitchenette. The living area has a comfortable, 4-seater corner sofa, which can be converted into a double sofa bed on request. Guests will find a log burning stove for winter evenings and a Smart TV, DVD player and sound system to relax to after a day out exploring the Cotswolds.
The cottage has its own pretty and private garden with planted borders, and mature trees forming a backdrop. On a patio area, there is a large, six-seater table, chairs, parasol and charcoal BBQ. A separate shared swimming pool**, children's play area, with swings, slide and trampoline (with security net), sits to one side of the garden and is shared with guests at the adjacent Amber Cottage.
**The shared pool is available from mid May to mid September (weather dependent) and can be used between 10am and 2pm. Access must be arranged with the owner on arrival. Please read our swimming pool FAQ for more information.

We had a few nice days in Jasmine cottage. It's a very cosy house, very clean and all we needed was provided. Friendly people too and a nice swimmingpool with heated water.
The only thing we didn't like was the location. Outside was a lot of noise from the traffic on the road very near to the cottage. And only after we made reservations we found out that the swimmingpool was only at our disposal between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A bit of a disappointment there.

We had such a lovely stay. The cottage is well stocked with just about everything you will need. John was an absolute gem.... we called on him a couple of times to rescue us, e.g. trotting off to town and realising we left a fan heater on!!! He is very fussy with his bedding, which smelled magnificent. Thank you so much John and Pam for a fab stay!

As I have written in the guest book: I would recommend this cottage to everyone exploring the Cotswolds! It is perfectly situated, in the center of the Cotswolds. The bedrooms are on the groud floor with one ensuite bathroom and one seperate bathroom, meaning no stairs to climb during nights. And in hot summers (like in 2022) the bedrooms were very cool. The living area is upstairs and tends to be hotter. Also, mind the heaters in the room. Previous guests left it on and it was scorching hot. The owner helped us turning it off, thanks John! The cottage is very well equipped, everything you would want is there. No old tools, everything is kept up to date and very clean. It also has a garden and they have delicious apples! The only downside someone could mention is the noise from the road (A417) but I didn't notice it much when inside.

Convenient but lacking charm
This was a convenient stay over for us but lack of windows with an outside view and outside traffic noise would not have made this a pleasant choice for a leisure stay where it was planned to spend time relaxing at the cottage.

Lovely cottage
Really nice clean cottage. Very good location. Owners were very helpful especially after I had an issue with my car - couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend to others and would stay there again

Short stay for a wedding event
Found Crickley cottages on the site, Bolthole retreats. they have a pair of adjoining cottages, Amber and Jasmine. as a combined sleeping capacity for 10 it suited our family reunion to a 'T'. The hosts Mr & Mrs Kingston were brilliant, on the short occasions I had to contact them they were very accommodating, and really helpful. The cottages were superb, super warm and home-from-home. All needs were catered for and these two cottages were 5 star in presentation.
The location, on the edge of the Cotswolds were ideally positioned for our needs, we had to attend a wedding venue in the area and even though we live within 50 miles we were having family from all over the EU visit for the event and felt living in the Wolds for a few nights would set the ambience. The weather was on our side, it was cold but sunny and fresh weather, so it made all the difference. The log burner gave that extra special warmth in both cottages.
Fantastic dwellings with all that you need, highly recommended for a short or even extended holidays, centrally located so short trips to Gloucester, Cheltenham and further afield into the Wolds were within a 30 min drive. Super.

Weekend away with the family
Beautiful barn/stable conversion. Very comfortable for the 5 of us and will sleep 6. Accommodating owners, in the BIG house very helpful. Log burner was cosy and very welcome (we arrived on the day of storm Eunice, having been blown around and driven through a freak snowstorm ). Great base for visiting Gloucester and Cheltenham which are equidistant. Highly recommend.

Pretty Converted Barn
Great property, chosen because of its close proximity to the Mountain Bike Park.
The Kitchen is well stocked, as are the bathrooms. Bedrooms are well laid out with comfortable big beds. The garden was lovely and well maintained with a large table and chairs. There are good walks and places to visit which are all a small drive away. The host was very happy to give recommendations. John recommended the walks on Crickley Hill - I was so glad I went there as it was really beautiful with amazing views and loads of butterflies.

Pleasant accomodation
Very pleasant stay.
Pro's : spacious for 2 people, accepted dogs, very well equipped with everything that you would need. 2 bathrooms, 2 single beds in one bedroom, one very large double in another bedroom with ensuite. Upstairs was the comfortable main living area with kitchen, comfy sofas, log burner and dining table.
Cons : some upgrading required, very very close to a main road so was noisy, no direct access to garden without going downstairs and out the front door. Garden needed a bit of a tidy up.
We enjoyed our stay but would try and find somewhere that wasn't quite as close to the main road next time.

Beautiful Location for Retreat
This was a perfect spot for our family to stay. It's peaceful and quiet and the views are amazing! The layout is great for a family (we have a baby and a teenager). The hosts are welcoming and have thought thru everything you might need. We will definitely come again!

A fabulous few days away.
Our main aim for this break was to be as close to Fly Up 417 MTB Park as possible and have somewhere lovely to relax in the evening. The boys went off each day, as 417 was only a 5 minute. cycle away. The owners of the cottage were lovely and couldn't help enough. We will certainly be going back.

A Fabulous Staycation!
Myself and my family (like most of the UK I assume) were due to be aboard but due to the situation, we had to adjust and change our trip accordingly.
We have never stayed in an Air B&B before but after my wife did lots of research and searching she found a jem which was Jasmine Cottage. I think we were nervous because there were no nice places available at such short notice and most of the UK had been booked up! But this place looked incredible so we booked it!
Located near Witcombe and bang in the middle of the countryside - this was perfect!
The cottage is spacious and our daughters shared a bedroom whilst we had the other one so it fits four people comfortably.
The cottage has every amenity you could need, and all we bought was some food for breakfasts and snacks.
The cottage was very clean, the beds are comfy and it’s truly so tranquil it reminds us of the cottage from the movie “The Holiday”.
We spent most days out and about, 30 minutes or so to Burton On The Water and then 25 minutes to Sudeley Castle.
Bolthole were fantastic as we actually extended by an extra day and they made it very easy to sort for us.
They also have extensive information in the handbook explaining everything!
We visited the Fostons Arms for dinner which was amazing! As was The Bell which is around 7 minutes away.
On our final night we went into Cirencester and ate at Piazza Fontana which was the most fabulous Italian restaurants we have been too!
So all in all - a trip we weren’t overly planning on having (due to Covid!) ended up being a wonderful, last minute little gem!
If we ever came back I would have no hesitation in booking the same cottage again.
Bolthole were excellent and also the owners of the house who we met on the first day, seemed so friendly and welcoming.

Lovely Cottage
This cottage serves 4 people very well, lovely little garden and the upside down cottage has all you need for a comfortable stay.
Just dont trust your sat nav we personally got up a narrow lane while towing a trailer which was not clever.

Wonderful stay with friends for 11 days
Beautiful stone cottage with modern interior. Well stocked with kitchen supplies. Comfortable beds. Owner John helpful, checking in to see if we had all we needed and providing fresh linens. A welcome basket of basic supplies would have been appreciated since we were not familiar with the area and not near a market. We did thoroughly enjoy our stay however, and definitely would book with Bolthole Retreats again!

Weekend stay
We found this cottage on Bolthole retreats and chose it because of its central location for the people visiting. The property was a few minutes from 2 pubs and only 10 minutes from Cheltenham.
It is very close to a busy road but we didn’t notice the traffic that much as it was the weekend and once the door was shut it was quiet. The cottage is cosy and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again if we are ever in the area
