Had a family gathering and it was filled with great memories with our 90 yr old mom!

We had a wonderful stay in this parkside house! We were seven adults and one 3-year-old and everything we could possibly need was provided. The location to town was ideal, the playground across the street provided plenty of fun for our granddaughter. Truly, we could not imagine a more perfect, comfortable, welcoming house than this one.

Very impressive setup. Between the electronic guidebook, thoughtful amenities, signage, greeting book, parking passes & so much more - this house sets the standard for a professionally arranged short term rental. Also quaint & cozy. :)

Family of 6: parents, 3 teens, 1 kid. Nice home overall, but only having 2 small bathrooms makes things tricky. It would be challenging to have more than 6 for a long period of time. Other than that, we always have a great time in Salida & loved walking from the property to the downtown shops and restaurants!

Purpose of trip was a ski reunion. Very comfortable for a party of six adults. Cars were used for trips to and from Monarch, other activities all within walking distance.

Good. Everything very nice and spacious except bathrooms were small. Kitchen pans and pots were not clean and non-stick were awful and needed replacing. Great location.

This property was excellent! Right by a park and super close walk to shops in town. It is perfect for family with dog, because the have a separate laundry with a doggie door. This house is charming and the area is beautiful!

The house is a partially updated historic/older house. Updated kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and a mud room addition but still has beautiful wood floors. Sits across the street from a town park with basketball courts and families enjoying the grassy areas. In fact they had a farmers market on Saturday morning!
Beds were comfortable and the kitchen is way better equipped than most rentals I’ve stayed in.
We were able to easily walk to the town center for food, music, shopping and people watching. Such a great location in a great town!
There isn’t a garage so you’ll have to store your bikes in the secured mud room.

Overall, the home was charming, inviting, and warm. It was such a great location with the park and only a short stroll to the river and downtown area. It was perfect for our needs to have a large space to gather. The seating on the front porch and the backyard created peaceful places to be still before or after the busy of strategic planning meetings.
The kitchen had everything we needed and was so well organized and labeled which made it easy to find things and put them away correctly. And it was bigger than the picture. The porch light was not working when we arrived so they sent someone to fix it right away which was so helpful. We were surprised that the ac was mountain air but the directions for that cooling system were very clear and made it simple to cool down the house after the first night. Just be aware of that if you have allergies where that would be an issue:)
We would 100% go back and totally recommend this home.

We stayed here with 2 other families using this as a base for a ski weekend at Monarch. It's a great location - you can walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants. The kids loved playing the park across the street and in the big fenced backyard.

The property is clean and fit a family of 10 just great! It is within walking distance of a lot of great shops and restaurants and the parking is easy. The check-in and check-out process was very simple as well.

This was the perfect home for our family vacation. Our group included five adults and four children ages 3-10. The location was great - across the street from the park and a short walk to everything downtown. The house was more spacious than it appeared from the pictures and the kitchen, while small, was the best equipped of any vacation rental I have ever stayed at. And there was even a Christmas tree which was a thoughtful touch. The only issue we had was lack of batteries for a bedside light in one of the bedrooms and the rental company delivered those to us almost immediately. All in all a great experience.

We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for 5 nights for a family wedding in town. This was a great location to be able to walk downtown in our free time and explore. The house was large and plenty of space for 7 people! Would definitely stay again if in the area.

This is our preferred destination for an annual family gathering around Labor Day. The house easily accommodates our 6 adults and 2 children (and a serene dog). The house is right across the street from Alpine Park and just a few blocks away from downtown Salida. Once we arrive there, we seldom have need of a car -- all of our destinations, and the Arkansas River, are just blocks away. The house is exceptionally clean, well cared for and appointed. We had a minor problem with some electrical outlets not working, and the owner responded within minutes to fix the issue. Salida is a lovely town with nice people and this property is lovely place for several people to gather.

In and a patio with cafe lights and a large table

We typically have a large group that apples for river permits and does a week long expedition camping. None of us got a permit this year so we decided to meet in Salida and take advantage of the numerous outdoor activities in the area. We kayaked and rafted; mountain biked; hiked; and took advantage of the charming town. The house was fantastic for group meals and hanging around. Perfect stay

Great location, normal quirks for old houses
We had a great stay at this rental - it was well stocked including family games. The location is perfect to walk to town and the grocery store. We love Salida but this was our first Christmas trip and there was additional small town charm for Christmas that we loved.
The heating was uneven but that is not a big surprise in an old home like this. We made adjustments by closing some vents downstairs and opening others upstairs. There are also space heaters in some of the rooms upstairs that could be used to even out the temperature.

Another Great Stay
We hope to make this our Thanksgiving tradition for years to come. This is the perfect house. It fits out family so well. It is spotless. The first VRBO that has spices and coffee. We even had a Christmas tree. Everything about our stay was wonderful. I stay at many VRBO's and this, by far, is our favorite. Thank you for making our family experience so memorable.

Wonderful house in a great location
A wonderful house that was well stocked with amenities like coffee, filters, spices, and with necessities like towels, cleaning supplies, washer-dryer and soap. The location is a few blocks from the heart of town, and is across the street from Alpine Park with hosted a farmer's market on the weekend!

Excellent place to stay!
Very impressed with the property!
Fully stocked with spices as well as any trash bags, laundry detergent, etc.
The only thing that I would change would be to put a queen bed in the room that has 3 single beds.

Lovely
This was such a beautiful home! It was perfect for a large family. It was well stocked with games, plenty of gathering areas, the kitchen had everything!
Only suggestion is more coffee cups. There were only 5!
Only issue we had was with property management. We left the property 5 minutes late and received a call once we were in the road. She asked us if we were still on the property and I reported no. She then said ‘then why is housekeeping texting me you are?’ I said maybe a late text and she proceeded to not believe me. I got upset and let her know we found out early that AM our father passed away from Covid so everyone was struggling and that I didn’t need this call. I hung up very upset. She then called back 10 minutes later about the freezer handle, when my step dad opened it, it fell off. It was an easy fix. She asked where the handle was and what happen. I informed her and she then said ‘I find it highly unlikely the handle just fell off’. Telling me it’s brand new and that something else must have happened. It was beyond inappropriate and it was an easy fix. My husband drove back to do it ( as we forgot it had happen the night before). The cleaning staff had already taken care of it and the handle was back on. She continued to insist we did something. It felt horrible during a very difficult morning. I will not rent from piñon property again.

Second family gathering
We stayed at the Parkside location for the second time in two years. We love Salida, and the Parkside location gives us the easiest access to the downtown (two blocks away), a lovely park right across the street and a friendly locals. Parkside itself gave every couple their own bedroom and the kids their own room as well. Thoughtfully appointed and cared for. We hope to be back next year!

Salida Family Vacation
We stayed at Parkside last year and now our family thinks its an annual trip. We love the house, a lot of house for all of our 10 to include bedding. They have all the supplies that you need except grocery items. Perfect walking distance to town and directly across from park. We love this house.

Great Salida house
The house was most enjoyable, with a front porch directly across from a local park. It is just a few short blocks from downtown and the riverwalk. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, and the home had a wonderful indoor dining room and an outdoor dining table that accommodated 12 people.

My family had a wonderful time at this home. There was plenty of room for 7 adults and 4 children. We loved the park right across the street! Perfect for a family or a group of friends! Kate and Terry were very nice and always answered any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again! That you for making our trip extra special with this great house!

Blast from the Past
The southwestern decor brought me back to my childhood home. This property is perfect for a large group. The pictures do not accurately showcase the size of the back living room. It comfortably sat 8 adults. Well kept. Definitely will rent this property next time I am in Salida. Highly recommend.
