About this house rental
You wake up to hear the gentle lapping of waves… it feels like it’s only metres away from your pillow. You grab your coffee and take a few steps, through the garden and onto the sand. The warmth of the sun on your skin, the feel of the soft white sand on your feet, and the smell of the crisp sea air makes you feel alive… THIS is what a holiday should be!
At Tidal Whispers, this is your every day.
Beachfront accommodation doesn’t get much closer to the beach than this. And when it comes to spectacular beaches, Boat Harbour Beach is simply one of the best. Here you’ll find crystal clear blue waters, pure white sand and stunning blue skies that stretch to the horizon.
The Tidal Whispers beach house is a traditional Boat Harbour Beach 'shack' and still has many features of its original 1940's design. We have endeavoured to provide an authentic experience for our guests, balancing the preservation of this ambient cottage and its quaint features with a renovation that ensures comfort and style.
If you are looking for an authentic, quirky, and absolute beach frontage traditional Tasmanian shack, embracing its 1940's heritage and character, then this is the accommodation for you.
Perfect for couples, families and friends, Tidal Whispers at Boat Harbour Beach, really is one of Tasmania’s best kept secrets!
Our bedding configuration: Two bedrooms - one large room with a Queen sized bed (ocean views and sliding door access to the sundeck); one small second bedroom with 2 single beds in a bunk configuration.
* 2 storey beach house with internal stairs (bedrooms, kitchen, and living area upstairs; toilet, bathroom, and laundry downstairs)
* No off-street parking but close-by and convenient on-street parking bays
* Sorry, pets are not permitted at this accommodation
***Heritage Considerations***
This beach house is a traditional Boat Harbour Beach shack and still has many features of its original 1940's design. Here you will enjoy spectacular 180 degree panoramic views of the beach and ocean, the warmth and charm of seaside cottage ambience, and unique and quaint quirks. Due to its heritage the ceiling height in the ground level of this beach house, where the bathroom and laundry are accessed, is quite low (e.g., as low as 5”6 or approximately 170cm in some parts) and guests will need to take care when passing through these areas.
***Access Considerations***
This property is accessed from Port Road via approximately 25 steps with a supportive handrail. Likewise, access from the property to the beach is via approximately 8 steps with a handrail, and access from the upper level (containing kitchen, living area, and bedrooms) to the lower level (containing toilet, bathroom and laundry) is via a set of approximately 14 internal stairs.
Based on these heritage and access considerations, please consider whether this accommodation is suitable for you, particularly if you or your guests have mobility issues. This property is not wheelchair accessible.
Tidal Whispers has been accredited by the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program - a federally endorsed, quality assurance scheme. This means that we can proudly display Australia's national symbol of tourism quality, the T-QUAL Tick.

Beautifully restored beach house with uninterrupted views, clean, and comfortable. Perfect location for a relaxing getaway.

We loved this beautifully restored beach house, full of character and such a great location.
The living area has uninterupted views across the entire beach.
It was very clean and comfortable.
We would definitely stay again.

Amazing location with all the basic essentials. Unfortunately I was sent additional payment requests before and after our stay that were unreasonable. Apparently their cleaners found sand on the floors and in the beds (?) that took 2.5hrs additional cleaning time. I was also questioned about having extra guests staying, which wasn’t the case at all. I followed all the house rules, and left the place tidy. As a host myself I wouldn’t dream of speaking to my guests the way I was spoken to. Such a shame, as we would have stayed there regularly, as it’s the perfect spot for a mum and daughter getaway.

Wonderful position .. toilet/bathroom downstairs.. not so good for older peeps requiring bathroom in night . !!!!
King bed would be better !!!!
Also no milk in fridge ..local cafe / shop closes 4 .. 15 minute trip to Wynyard to get food .
Milk should be complimentary in these circumstances !!!

It was a perfect place to spend a few days away to relax and unwind. The property was very cosy and had the most beautiful view… right on the beach. A beautiful place to stay, neat, clean, very comfortable and the owner was great to deal with. We will be back !

We spent a blissful five days at Tidal Whispers. The house was spotless and beautiful, the views were to die for, even in the rain showers. We will definitely be back to this wonderful region of Tasmania - thanks to Lesley for making it so easy

Best spot for uninterrupted 180 degree water views. Right on the silver sand beachfront. Lovely sunsets. Bright, light, cosy, true no fuss split-level beach shack. All you would need inside or out, BBQ on the deck. Easy viewing of young ones playing or swimming on the beach below. Five minute walk to cafe' and main beach by road or beach. Easy access to lots of NW tourist spots. Look forward to staying again.

What a special place…to have the beach a few steps from your rental. The living areas and bedrooms were open and sunny which made the most of the stunning location and views. A couple of quirks to the property like a small kitchen but this didn’t bother us one bit. The manger Leslie was also great to communicate with us you needed too. Will definitely be back.

The view is wonderful and we appreciated it is an earlier shack and has a history. The bed was comfortable and a great shower.
Lesley warned me about the toilet being down stairs but I didn't realise how many steps there were from the road. My main problem was the uneven floors particularly down stairs. it was a challenge for people our age as ones balance is not the same as a young person. Apart from parking and the M/V being under the poky kitchen bench I would recommend it to young people but not the older age group.
Please don't take this personably but I am trying to be constructive so you realise the limitations for an older couple. Boat Harbour and beach are lovely and your recommendations of Vali and the Vault were greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cate

Absolute beach front with water views from everywhere. a 2 minute stroll up the beach to the local cafe (where they do the best coffee and pancakes!) Very clean. Owners very accommodating.

We went here for our 32nd anniversary, the place was imacculate, wow location 😍 the parking is a thing, but no fault of the owner, there just isn't any, but you can park at the top, unload and just park up the road abit, so really wasn't an issue in the end. The bed was so comfortable, the place was so warm and cosy, there wasn't anything we were wanting, well stocked as in cutlery, plates ect, had the bare essentials, as in salt pepper, coffee, tea and sugar, so we were pleased with that too. I think this place is amazing value, yes its a shack, but an almighty fine shack. Highly recommend, thank you Lesley you are one awesome host!

We stayed a few nights in this wonderful property. Yes the layout is not to modern standards but the owners have done a wonderful job of updating it and truly making it the best it can be. The timber floors, original windows and doors help keep the charm and the gardens are superb.
