Nestled within a tranquil bush setting, Casa Abierta is a double story house. It has six bedrooms, 2 lounge areas and an open plan design. This comfortable retreat offers ample space for everyone.
The ambience of the house is serene and restful, because of the layout and because of the use of timber, mud brick and straw bale construction. There are no streetlights or traffic sounds here.
Full-Scale Kitchen: Prepare meals in the expansive kitchen, while the dining and living areas provide ample room for bonding and making memories.
Outdoor Oasis: Enjoy outdoor entertaining with a BBQ area and fire pit, creating the perfect setting for marshmallow toasting and quality family time.

THE LOCATION:
Stanley village is just over 8 kms from historic Beechworth, in NE Victoria. This is orchard country, known for fine food and wine, walking, cycling and mountain bike riding. Casa Abierta is on the outskirts of Stanley, within reach of the local pub and other local curiosities, either by foot, bike or car. Come and experience slow living in a beautiful natural environment. A place to unwind and share time with loved ones.
THINGS TO DO:
Borrow a book. Play hide and seek, or a game of croquet or badminton outside. Throw a frisbee or kick a ball in front of the shed. If you are lucky you might chance upon a Tawny Frogmouth, Koala or local Wallaby. There are usually Crimson Rosellas, Kookaburras, Sugar Gliders, Wood Ducks and Frogs. At night there are Boobook Owls. Bring your bikes if you like cycling, and walking shoes to explore suggested walking routes. A 5 minute potter to the Stanley oval and tennis courts, and a 10 minute stroll to the Stanley Pub, for family or fine dining. For cafes, shops and a variety of restaurants, venture 10 minutes by car to Beechworth.
USE OF THE PROPERTY: Our house is a holiday let. We host one set of guests at a time (i.e groups of friends or a couple who want to have time away together in a romantic location).
Guests will have access to the whole house and garden.
Please advise your group dynamics, ie how many singles, doubles, children and infants. Extra set up may incur a further surcharge.
If you have sudden additional guests in your group, please advise us.

The big house and garden works very well for an extended family. The The Stanley-Myrtleford road ids a delightful drive (and we are told a great ride for those on their bikes).

This property we named our ‘hidden Tuscan Villa’ as the beautiful Silver birch garden, grapevines and green rolling hills made it feel like an international destination. Neat and clean with fully stocked kitchen. We were able to relax and unwind. The eco friendly thermo regulated mud brick home stayed beautifully warm and communication with hosts was simple. We loved the array of books to read and the plentiful tea and coffee supplied.

Serene spot in the wonderful little village of Stanley, 10km from Beechworth. The house is as good as it looks, perfect for our large family group to gather, to cook together, to play boardgames and relax. The cottage garden surrounding the house is beautiful. The house is generously furnished and has everything you need for a few days away. Our border collie loved the grounds too. We will be back.

Our stay at Casa Abierta was perfect. The house is very spacious and the firepit was a lovely treat. The communication from Jen was excellent, and she even went the extra mile to make sure the WiFi was working. 10/10 would stay here again, especially now the Stanley Pub is back up and running!

Beautiful surroundings
We had a a lovely couple of nights in Stanley and the house accommodated us perfectly for a family get together. It was warm and cosy with just the log burner on and had plenty of space and a very good kitchen. The grounds are beautiful, surrounded by nature. So close to Beechworth, we popped in there for breakfast. Only disappointment was we couldn’t get into the Stanley pub for dinner, need to book in advance as it’s small and popular.

We couldn't have had a better house for a get together with the family. The kitchen and living area allowed us to cook, eat, play and enjoy each others company. The outside area was also perfect to sit out in the sunshine and enjoy the peaceful country setting.

Wonderful property
We loved our stay at Casa Abierta, the owner shows genuine hospitality and thoughtfulness through a stack of little touches and makes the experience easy by providing excellent communication in the lead up to our stay. The kitchen was a big consideration for us and it was large and well appointed. We even had snow which was perfect for our Christmas in July.

Beautiful, quiet, idyllic
The house was amazing! It was beautiful, comfortable, warm and cosy, with beautiful views outside from every window. The property was very private and you almost could forget you were in Australia - we made pasta one night feeling like were in a Tuscan/Italian villa. The house is well appointed, with beautiful details, comfortable beds, great sheets and towels. Plenty of kitchen items and big kitchen for lots of guests, with room to move. The two bathrooms were very handy for our party of 9, and the house was very comfortable for all of us + a baby. Karen, the manager, was very helpful and checked in by sms to make sure everything was going well. We will definitely come back and stay here again - fantastic place for a big group getaway! An absolutely impressive property.
We enjoyed the luxury and tranquility. The children loved being upstairs in their own space. Enjoyed the view out onto the garden space; the pond and forest grove; listening to the frogs; the occasional barking owl and just star gazing. And of course (a few kms or so) down the road - Beechworth, Milawa cheese, Brown Brothers and Mt Buffalo.....Thank you for the opportunity to experience your lovely home.

Peaceful and relaxing stay in Stanley
Beautiful and unusual house in Stanley. Casa Abierta is a lovely, large house, perfect for our group of 7 women away for a walking weekend. Friendly interior, with lovely homely touches around the house. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with plenty of cook ware. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the deck in the sun at the end of the day. Garden surrounds are beautiful and it's a very quiet and peaceful location. A short walk to Stanley Hotel where we enjoyed a lovely dinner. Thank you Helen and manager, Karen, for the perfect spot for our girls weekend.

We chose Casa Abierta because of our group of 10 for a family get together. Great choice of house - this is a really interesting and warm home in a lovely quiet setting. The house is well set up with cookware, and there is ample space for everyone. The surrounds must be even prettier when the trees are in leaf. Great open plan, cosy wood heater, great selection of books and games. We would definitely return to this home.

Great place for family gathering
There were 7 at the house and there was ample space. It was my mother in laws 96th birthday at the house and very accommodating for elderly and the young.
The house was very clean and all the facilities from kitchen to bathroom and linen all high standard.
Pet friendly - Although our little dog was not well, he enjoyed his little short walks around the property.
Chickens - fresh eggs for all to enjoy.
Communication with Helen and Nic was excellent. They respond to your inquires promptly and was very accommodating to our needs.
We would definitely stay there again.

Amazing Hidden Getaway!!
Casa Abierta was a gorgeous home with so much character and warmth to it!! It was a perfect place for a girls weekend and we enjoyed every moment of it, especially the long chats and wines in front of the open fire. Would definitely recommend this beautiful house if you are looking for a relaxing getaway.
