It was a good place to stay.

The studio cottage was intimate for 2.
It is a shared property with a large cabin, but we had no problems sharing.

Overall our stay was very nice. It was HOT! But the cottage has two window air conditioners and a ceiling fan. Very thankful for those because again it was HOT! We would stay there again if and when we are in the area again.

Just like the pictures show! Cute, small space with great view of river. Great decks for sitting outside (but, LOTS of flies for some reason). I overlooked that this cottage is shared with a BIG house. We lucked out that the 2 vans of teens were mostly gone, so had nice, quiet, private access. We grilled, cooked, kayaked, relaxed and read books! Great weekend! Owner was easily accessible and responsive to text questions. Internet was very weak.

Cabin was as advertised and fitted our needs perfectly. We enjoyed our stay.

Very cozy, cute, small space with lake view. Overall enjoyed it. Beautiful common areas. Lucked out that the large group of teens in big house were mostly gone. Internet slow. Water levels low, able to kayak, but not swim-thick slushy muddy edges. Dishes/pans could be upgraded. Flies! Many for some reason. Owner very accessible and friendly via text.

I am very upset with last night and tonight. Last night we came back to the cabin with about 15 cars in the driveway. And about 20 college boys drinking and playing games. It’s was after midnight when we finally fell asleep listening to then cheer when something happened. Woke up to red cups all over the back yard. Empty beer cans and beer cartons. Tried to leave for the day and our car was blocked in. Had to ask a hungover frat boy to move his car. Tonight we come back after attending a wedding and same thing. 15 cars in the driveway and after a after a long we wanted sit out on the patio this evening over the water but instead were in bed listening to frat boys drinking. There is an outdoor kitchen below our cabin and we hear them going in and out if there. We would have stayed somewhere else if we had known the host had booked 20 college students. It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend. I’m beyond upset. I have photos of what the yard looked like outside our door this morning. We’re too far from home to drive home and $500 into this cabin to leave. So unhappy!!!!!!

Very small cottage but fine for a couple not expecting much space. Beautiful view of Guadalupe River. However, the balcony faces the east and the sun made it too hot to sit on after 10am because we were there during an unexpectedly hot week. Probably much better in November.

Very easy and smooth.

This is an excellent cabin, especially if you love being in or on the water! We stayed during the week so had the whole place to ourselves. There is a 30 person cabin that is usually rented for the weekends, keep that in mind.
A wonderful experience.

This was a great place for two, cozy and relaxing! Definitely staying here again.

My overall experience was wonderful. I went as a personal get away to have quiet time with God and away from the busyness of life. My stay was Monday-Wednesday in a low season, which allowed for more quietness. If I had gone on a weekend in the summer it probably would've been less quiet and peaceful due to having more people around the property & on the river.
I loved the studio-cottage! It was absolutely perfect for me. It had a beautiful view of the river, which I loved. The property is well taken care of and has a great riverfront view. Vanessa, the owner is easy to communicate with. I am interested in renting the house and cottage for more of my family on a summer weekend. I am happy with my stay here and will look at returning in the future.

Despite this rental’s description, our stay at this cottage was not quite as intimate as we wished. The sister rental on this property (which sleeps 30) was rented out for the weekend despite our knowledge. When we arrived, we were greeted by several unfamiliar vehicles scattered across the available parking. When we contacted the leasing agent to discuss check-in and parking, she answered our question in a manner that made us feel like all of our questions were things we should have known before asking. Most of her responses were along the lines of “it was listed all over the website.” Most of our weekend we couldn’t wait to get away from the cottage. Between the loud parties, kids screaming, and stares from the other group staying on the property, we felt anything but at home. The amenities offered in the listing were largely occupied by the other group of people staying. We had no access to either of the decks on the lake and no access to the water or the canoe due to it being heavily occupied by the other group. In fact, we never accessed the water because members of the group were fishing with large off shore finishing lines much of the day. While we did not mind sharing this property, it would have been nice for the owner to have let us know exactly what we were up against before we drove 6 hours for this vacation. We would have largely considered getting a hotel closer to the attractions we were there to visit rather than staying at a home filled with people we seemed to only bother. As for the rest of our stay, the inside of our cottage was homey; however, It was not prepared for our 4 day stay. The bathroom was equipped with exactly 4 towels and 3 DISH rags. We eventually went to the store to purchase our own wash clothes to bathe. Other than this the air conditioner worked well and the bed was comfortable. That’s about all we have to say on a positive note. Our over all impression was that this stay is perfect if you’re looking for a high-end camping experience— however you should be equipped to provide whatever is necessary for you to get by during this camping extravaganza… washcloths and all.

Great Cottage!
We rented this cottage in addition to the home so that we wouldn't have anyone other than family on the property. The extra queen bedroom and bathroom came in very handy. It's a cute little cottage with double doors to a view of the lake. It has everything you need. A kitchenette with a full fridge and a separate bathroom/shower, with plenty of hot water. The trick to the shower is that you need to turn it and keep it on cold....that is actually the hot water. The cottage has a window unit that cools enough. But if you need a cold room, this isn't it. Choose the upstairs bedrooms with window units in the house. FYI - keep in mind that this is on the lake. There are a ton of bugs and you will see webs, but this is normal for being on the lake. The owner is super sweet and accommodating. I would definitely rent this again.

The view of the river from the cute little river cottage was fantastic. Perfect size for a couple. Loved having the kitchen within our space. Just a few steps from the cottage to the beautiful Guadalupe. We can’t wait to return!

Fun, cute little cottage! Great view, right on the river. We cleaned up the paddle boat & took it for a ride, the tubes were fun too.

Place was cute and cozy. We enjoyed our stay. First night was kind of a bummer as the bigger party hogged the pier the whole time. If staying, call ahead and make sure you are alone. Otherwise great trip!

Great location, not the cleanest property
Overall we enjoyed our stay. I give the property Five stars for location....I mean it’s right on the river! We spent most of our time outside and enjoyed sunning, swimming and fishing. We went out on the water and caught 6 nice sized bass. The property itself could definitely use some sprucing: Lights were out on the dock, there was a big party/group before us and the whole property smelled like an ash tray, there is a cat on the property & I could smell urine and cat poop, the little casita we stayed in wasn’t very clean (Cobwebs in the kitchen, dirty floor, and I’m not sure the lash time the lamp shades were cleaned...there was dust & hair all over them.). Overall good property but could use a deep clean & some sprucing up.

Perfect Place
This was a perfect place for two newly engaged teachers and our westie. Our only regret is that we didn’t book it sooner and for a longer duration. The communication with the property manager Vanessa was very easy and she was very courteous.
We were nervous until we got there because of never having stayed somewhere other than a hotel. But this place was perfect.
The Guadalupe River was amazingly cold and right outside your patio. It’s literally walk down the stairs and you’re there to throw a paddle board in. The neighbors are friendly and it is a very quiet place to stay if you’re looking to relax. Will definitely be back next year. It was also very clean, water was hot and the window unit definitely made the room nice and COLD after a few hours. It’s 104 outside so of course it takes a bit. I had read some of the past reviews and I must say we had a great experience. I don’t understand some of the few/low ratings.

Guadalupe River Lodge
Me and my wife arrived and the cabin is behind two large doors that open into a courtyard with a large table for outside dining if that’s your preference and a lot of plants with a beautiful view of the Guadalupe River. We stayed in the small cabin(400sf) If was a perfect size for us two. There is a large home on the same lot that sleeps 30 but it wasn’t occupied during our visit. Being hot when we arrived, the A/C was on for us and it worked well. After unpacking, we decided to do a little fishing and sure nuff they were biting. There are two decks(Large Upper) with a fire ring, chairs, bar-be-que pit and picnic table. a (smaller lower deck) and a boat slip. There is also a canoe and a paddle boat there but we brought our own kayaks. Spent several hours on the water and the hot shower and a/c felt very good when we got back. The views were gorgeous from our little cabin and really anywhere past the double doors that lead to it. If your looking for a little romantic little place to relax, enjoy the sounds of the turkeys across the River, and privacy, this is it. Looking forward to our return trip in the future. Vanessa was helpful. In fact, gave her a call at 1100pm and she answered on the second ring. Had a concern about the hot water heater but all it needed was plugging in. No big deal The only thing that was missing was steak knifes. We got some at H-E-B tho That steak was delicious off that pit.
