This property was just right for our stay in Venus Bay. It is well sited and easy to access. The wood heater was a bonus on the colder nights. The communication from the owner was timely and appropriate in preparing us for the stay. Whilst it is not a modern cottage, it was more than adequate for our stay.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped kitchen. Arrived late on Friday night and instructions were easy. A beautiful evening about 24 degrees. Saturday was fine and Sunday was very stormy. We were very comfortable and cozy with the fire. Thank you

Cosy, comfortable little beach house. Exactly as described. Close to town and beaches. Well equipped kitchen.
The woodfire heater is great and quite effective although heating is only in the main lounge/kitchen area, so bring warm blankets for the beds if staying in winter.
The yard is well fenced for a dog but need to make sure no other animals have burrowed under the fence. We found a couple of holes but there are plenty of things to use to cover them up and make it safe. Seems to be a large wombat burrow (Aug 2023) in the middle of the yard but we did not see the wombat.

What a great little place to unwind and relax. No frills, very clean, accessible, not too far to beach No.3.
We took the dog too. The back yard is huge and there's plenty of room for your dog to run around. The fences are all strong and well maintained so no escapes!
The upstairs loft-style room was perfect for the kids to enjoy their own space and relax when desired.
The wood heater warmed the space beautifully.
All in all, for a family of 5 (including 2 teens) the house was perfect. Nice and quiet and well maintained.
We'll be back for sure!

House is just nice for family of 4 or 5. Was comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. Best feature... is the picnic table in the front yard. Nice sitting out there on a Sunny day eating brekkie or lunch.

We had a wonderful weekend away :)
Our kids loved sleeping upstairs and the fire was cosy and warm!
Only downside was having to bring our own linen. If you are ok with this 100% would recommend :)
Thank you for having us!

This property have a very homely feel and is super comfortable. It has a modern, well equipped kitchen, nice, shady front garden and space at the back, perfect for a dog! There is lots of space for cars too. The cottage is located in a quiet part of the first estate with easy access to main roads. Carolina was a super host, very quick with her responses. Would definitely love to stay there again.

We have never stayed in Venus bay but we enjoyed the peaceful environment.
Great location to access the beach and also the local shops.
This house was great for us because we had a dog. The pet door was great and not having carpeted areas meant we did not have to stress as much about which areas she would have access to.
I would definitely stay here again.

It was wonderful to arrive at such a lovely holiday home for the weekend. The Coonara heater in the lounge room was a true blessing for such a cold, wet weekend. It heats the whole house. Such a relaxing break in a comfortable, clean home.
Thanks so much Carolina.

Nice and simple little getaway house, we were able to bring our dogs and they were secure there. Pot belly fire was a winner and good fishing spots around. Would book again.

We all loved our time in Venus Bay. The house was perfect for our family and in an ideal location. Close enough to walk to shops and a short drive to beaches, but still in a quiet part of town. The house had everything we needed.

Enjoyed our stay at this location. Nice walk to Beach 2. House had a nice feel to it and liked the fact didn’t need to carry around a key. Was a little bit of animal hair around but easily dealt with.

I will split this review into 3 parts, Pro/Con/FYI.
This is the first time to use Stayz, but i have used other platforms in Australia and in the USA for non hotel accommodation.
Pro
The place was just as in the pictures, a nice cottage. it was well appointed and had everything our family needed for our stay.
It was clean and tidy and comfortable. And there were many bed options, from the queen, doubles, singles, portable single and even a baby cot in the main bedroom.
The street is quite and so are the neighbours.
Cons
A day and a half before our stay, the owner messages that we need to bring our own bedding (linen) and also towels. This really screwed us over for space, as we were not expecting to take that for 4 people. The only lucky thing was we were driving down from Melbourne, but I could not imagine what we would of done if we had flown in from another state. It made the car ride down very squashed as we now had to take a large suitcase with these items together with our dog and bird. In all my stays, this is the first time this has ever happened to me, and I did double check that it was not mentioned on the listing. We would of 100% reconsidered the stay if we knew before hand.
FYIs
The town is nice and quite.
The petrol station in the next town (Lower Tarwin 3km's away) closes at 'around 6:30pm' (according to the lady at the servo) and the next closest one is about 30km's drive at Inverloch. That closing time isnt listed anywhere and the phone number for the Shell petrol station isn’t either. We were fortunate that it opened before check out the following day.
If you need to be online (I had to for a meeting and class) while at the stay, you will need consider an external 4G router. I looked this up before our trip and took an external 4G/5G router with me as the closest towers are in Inverloch (9km direct line) for all the mobile providers.

This house in Venus Bay is a God send. Close to the shops but far enough away for them not to be a bother. Close to the front and back beaches, quiet and inviting. The house was super clean, the grounds exemplary and access easy.
We had great weather but the wood fire added a nice ambiance and warmth once the sun had set. Totally recommend.

We had a lovely few days in this cosy nice house. The wood burner was great. We could sit on the front veranda and enjoy sunshine and birds. The kitchen was well stocked, has large benches and dishwasher. We took our 2 dogs and really appreciated staying here.

Beautiful part of the coast. Such a treat to get out of Melbourne. The well appointed property was easy to live in. No problems for us. (Fence not secure for small dogs, but fine for a golden retriever. )
