Our stay was great and the house is lovely, cosy and with a lot of space. It was nice to be in the nature with deers around and without traffic. The owners were very nice and helpful. We got a flat tyre on the way and they offered us support and drove us to the supermarket. They gave us tips for activities. There are a lot of nice places to visit in short distance.
We enjoyed the house and stay very much and would love to come again sometime.

Property was exceptional in how it was presented for our arrival, welcome pack was very generous and well thought out. If you’re looking for a quiet away from it all stay then Monument Cottage is perfect, we were visited and seen deer, hare, hedgehog, woodpecker, jay and numerous small birds 😀

Lovely, well equipped property. Great welcome from the owners and a lovely welcome pack. The jam was delicious. Lots of information provided about the local area and a very welcome recommendation to go to Lunan Bay. We loved it! We really enjoyed our stay.

Had a wonderful week at this secluded cottage, surrounded by trees and nature. Arrived to find the cottage immaculately clean, with a lovely welcome pack of food which included homemade jam, and the log fire lit - such a lovely touch. We spent the week exploring the area and watching the wildlife in the garden - we were regularly visited by deer, as well as woodpeckers, jays and voles. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back.

Fantastic
We have just returned from a weeks holiday in this wonderful cottage. The owners made our family feel very welcome. We had a lovely welcome pack full of goodies waiting for us when we arrived and Sharron popped down to make sure we had settled in ok and recommended places to visit. Lunan beach is a must, we visited around sunset and it was just beautiful! Thank you for a great stay, we would love to return in the future.

A real relaxing getaway
We spent a wonderful Christmas at monument cottage. It had everything we needed and a lovely surprise welcome package and card. Sharon and Dave could not have been nicer or more welcoming. We enjoyed walks in the surrounding wood, our dog had the time of her life. It is close to the beach and we spent Christmas eve walking on the beach watching the sun go down. Having never been away from home at Christmas we were a little apprehensive but it was a perfect place to stay and we hope to return.

Beyond our expectations!
Beyond our expectations! A wonderful week at the beautiful Monument Cottage, and it couldn’t have been better in any way. We arrived from the states with no luggage, and Sharon , our wonderful host, became the point person dealing with the luggage delivery service. Help in this matter allowed us to explore the beautiful areas around the cottage, always looking forward to returning to our cozy home and our wood- burning stove. Our kitchen was well-appointed, and we so appreciated the welcome basket that greeted us upon our arrival. Everything was perfect and we truly hated to leave.

Great cottage in a beautiful area.
We had a fabulous ten days at Monument Cottage. It was great for my in-laws in their 80s, with the downstairs bed and bath, and the whole cottage was immaculate. We found so many things to visit in the area, going as far as Edinburgh and Pitlochry for day trips. Would love to return.

Wonderful stay in a immaculate property
Monument Cottage is located in a wood in a secluded spot close to Monikie. Nice walks, peace and quiet, with plenty of wildlife close by is a plus, but this property is also close to whatever you might want in the area. The cottage contains all the modern amenities and Sharon stocks a great welcome basket to get you going. The only negative was we had to leave, we felt so at home! Wifi worked well, and google maps brings you right to the door.

Lovely welcome with a fire in the wood burner and box of groceries on the kitchen top. The following morning the kids watched the squirrels and woodpeckers whilst eating breakfast before heading out. A lovely peaceful spot, well equipped, a good location and nice folk.

Well equipped cottage in private setting with all mod cons
This very comfortable cottage was perfect for a quiet getaway but having Dundee within easy reach as well as the beaches and glens close by, it is a great location for any sort of holiday. The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and Sharon had left a fabulous welcome basket including fresh scones with cream & jam, crackers & cheese, milk bread & eggs, bottle of wine and other local produce. There is a large outbuilding with laundry facilities and space for bikes etc with plenty of driveway space for parking too. Definitely recommend!

Nice cabin
We did enjoy the cabin very much, everything was clean and well equipped. The owners were always very helpful and did all they could to make our holiday a success.
With a small garden in front of the cabin and a little forest to hike, castles to explore and museums to visit just a few minutes away the place was everything we needed for a few days off on the countryside with our kid and our golden retriever.
Thanks you!

Beautiful, family friendly cottage
This was an amazing place to stay! The cottage itself is so charming, with more than enough room for our family of 5. The grounds are incredible and you feel very secluded. It is convenient for driving to Arbroath and Dundee and other nearby towns for quick trips, and we did day trips to Pitlochry, Stirling, and to Perth. Our hosts, Sharon and David, were very welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to make recommendations for our family.

Wonderful Cottage in the woods, lovely accommodation with everything you could possibly need.
We had a wonderful 5 nights at Monument Cottage. The Jeffrey's are friendly and welcoming hosts and to arrive to a lovely basket of essentials was an added bonus. Our dogs were also welcome and were in paradise in all the surrounding woodland!! The delight of this Cottage is its very peaceful location, but at the same time is in easy reach of Dundee, forestry, the coast and the Cairngorms. We would love to return.

Truly relaxing time
Had a lovely stay over Christmas, very relaxing and quiet. Property is equipped to a very good standard, and very warm and cosy. The property is located at the end of a long drive and you are not overlooked by anyone, giving you a real sense of getting away from it all. Gift basket was waiting on our arrival and Sharon popped down later that evening to check we had everything we needed, even rustling up some DVDs for my son to watch. The owners go above and beyond when it comes to making sure the property is well stocked with every day needs, it is the first tme ever I have come home not having to buy more toilet rolls, dishwasher or laundry products - even telling me they will bring more down if we run out!! Not sure about other supermarkets, but can confirm Tesco deliver here if you don't fancy a supermarket trip. If you have dogs, there are some lovely walks around the property with country parks and beaches within a few minutes drive. My 2 hounds truly had the time of their lives. Would not hesitate in recommending this property, my son even cried when he had to leave, and hope to stay here again some day :)

Stunning woodland location
A fantastic stay for our family of 5 (including 3 children) at this lovely cottage. Woodland setting was both private and pretty - it was especially lovely being able to lie in bed and watch the autumn leaves drift past the roof windows. We arrived in the dark after a long drive, and it was wonderful to come in to a lit fire and a well stocked welcome basket. Sharon was a great host, and the cottage has many thoughtful touches. Local area had plenty to see and do. We particuarly enjoyed a day at Glamis Castle (the Queen Mother's childhood home), which had an excellent guided tour, along with a great playground and grounds. We also enjoyed a drive along the coast to the spectacular Dunnottar Castle.

The Perfect Property
Monument Cottage is a brilliantly appointed property in a beautiful location...we wouldn't hesitate to recommend! We have 2 dogs so loved being able to walk them off the lead in the surrounding woodland straight from the door. The property itself is tranquil, clean, cozy and we didnt want for anything. Huge thank you for the very generous welcome pack! We certainly plan to return.
