We spent a week in Ganiville. It is a lovely apartment with fantastic views from the terrace, we spent many an hour watching the boats go by. It’s in easy walking distance from restaurants and the town. The market on Tuesday was definitely worth a visit.
Although there is a space in the garage, it’s only really suitable for a small car. We parked in the parking close by without a problem.

The appartement with its large terrace offers a wonderful view of the outer harbor of Mareillan and across the Etang to the hill of Sete by day and night.
The sunny mornings at the end of February were perfect for breakfast outside.
Unfortunately, the fans for the heating/air conditioning of the building on the roof hum very unpleasantly, which disturbs the peace and quiet and the feeling of the sea and can sometimes be heard in bed at night (at least from me).
This is the only reason why there are no 5 points for the location/surroundings rating.
The apartment itself is harmoniously furnished.
In the kitchen we only missed pot lids and enough wine glasses (and that in France!). For the former we used plates, for the latter we gave the apartment a cheap 12 pack from the supermarket.
One bedroom has a very comfortable double bed on a high brick platform with small stairs. Very romantic. If you lie in the back and don't want to wake your partner when getting in or out of bed, it requires a certain amount of acrobatic practice.
The communication with the owner was very pleasant. Unfortunately, her manager never replied to my messages.
Well, we had no problems to discuss, but it would be nice to receive at least a short confirmation that she received our messages.
The apartment is rather expensive and you have to be prepared to spend some extra euros for the wonderful view.
All together we had a wonderful time here.

My mother and I stayed here for three nights while in town for a wedding. It was a lovely sanctuary for us. We enjoyed being by the water and very close proximity to walk to places. Small village feel. The place was very clean and tidy. A little tricky if you are arriving at night but the local host was easily available for questions. We even ran into her at a local pub and she helped us order! :) Thank you for a lovely stay.

The apartment is in a fantastic location with many restaurants no more than a 5 min walk away. Equally, the property has a lovely outdoor patio area which is both private and has wonderful views on the Etang. The apartment was very clean and has a well equipped kitchen so everything if you wanted to dine in as well as a coffee machine.
There are two things to be aware of (and we were aware of both prior to booking but probably hadn't thought through the practicalities) 1) The double bed is on a raised section of one of the bedrooms and one side is against the bed, so if you are of a certain age and need to visit the bathroom during the night then you will need to climb over your loved one !! You could of course sleep in the other bedroom where there are 2 x single beds assuming there is only two of you staying in the apartment and 2) the shower is a hand held whilst you are in the bath so you will need to hold it yourself whilst standing or sitting in the bath ....just points to be aware of.
We received great notifications from the owner and were met on site by the owners rep who was lovely. A very nice stay and we hope to be back in the future.

Relaxing stay in an apartment overlooking the Etang de Thai.
The property is perfectly located. Overlooking the sea and adjacent to the harbour. Plenty to watch from the terrace and it is easy to amble to the local restaurants.

The apartment was ideal for our week in Marseillan with all the requirements to enjoy this special place. Well placed for all the local restaurants and self contained to feel as safe as you want to be.

Serenity of Ganivelle
This was a return holiday to Ganivelle, having last visited Marseillan Port in June 2019. I was so excited when France opened its doors to travellers from abroad and equally delighted to find a few days still available in Ganivelle’s calendar fulfilling a promise to myself that I would return someday soon to this peaceful, tranquil corner of the world. With a very warm welcome from Marie and Carole, we found everything was as we remembered and quickly settled into a lovely holiday, relaxing on our spacious private terrace watching the sun rise and set reassuringly in its stunning array of colours over the Étang de Thau. It will take very little coaxing to return to Marseillan Port some day soon knowing that the serenity of Ganivelle awaits me.
Thank you Marie for another lovely holiday.

We’ll definitely be back.
A fantastic apartment with beautiful views over the lagoon and a perfect location to explore the Languedoc coast. Marseillan itself is lovely with a great selection of restaurants right on the doorstep but it’s also easy to access the nearby beaches and towns. Marie was a thoughtful and attentive hostess, providing us with all the information and guidance we needed. Thank you for having us and we look forward to visiting again.

A real gem.
This was our second stay, every bit as good as the first. The spacious terrace is the best ever, with amazing views over the etang, and comfortable furniture, perfect for people and boat watching over a glass of wine
And just round the corner from the buzzy harbour and good restaurants

Quiet paradise by the Etang
We had a fabulous 10 night stay in Ganivelle. From the apartment all you can see is water and the odd boat going by. It is a quiet and relaxing area, but only a short walk to stylish bars and restaurants. It was very hot during our stay but the very efficient air con kept us cool. We had drinks on our large roof terrace whilst watching life in the port, with swifts and swallows flying overhead. A serene place, highly recommended.

Beautiful Relaxing Holiday
I was sorely in need of a holiday when my mother and I arrived in Marseillan in mid-June and Ganivelle indeed was the most perfect place to unwind and settle in for 10 wonderful days and nights.
The apartment is beautifully and stylishly decorated, filled with light and with those large full-width sliding glass doors that give you that wonderful indoor-outdoor living vibe.
Like the rest of the apartment, the kitchen is tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you might need to prepare your own meals. Marseillan has excellent shops to stock up on supplies and a great market on Tuesdays.
Located at the top of the building, the private terrace overlooking the Etang is the ideal place for people and sailboat watching not to mention stunning views of sunrises and sunsets. The harbour too sees lots of activity with pleasure craft and sailing schools.
If you can pull yourself away from the view, there is plenty to do in this pretty, friendly and genuine French port town. The apartment is ideally located, just steps from the port and a short walk into town. There are plenty of restaurant and cafe options should you wish for a meal out or a drink on the port esplanade. We ate out two nights both at Restaurant Le Château du Port, both excellent meals. Water sports, bike rentals and beaches are all close by.
There is really no need for a car in Marseillan but should you have one, you can safely stow it away in secure on-site parking.
Marie, the kind and friendly owner couldn't be more helpful, ready to answer any queries we had. Her on-site manager Carole, was close at hand should we need any immediate help or recommendations.
We absolutely enjoyed our séjour in Marseillan. We have never felt so relaxed, wandering around the esplanade and wandering back to relax on our private terrace, eating and drinking and watching the boats sail back and forth in tranquility. At Ganivelle, you are both at the heart of everything and yet ever so slightly apart in the peaceful world created just for you. We will return as soon as we possibly can.

I have travelled the world and have seen many beautiful things - but I must say I almost never had an appartment to call my own, if only temporary, which had such a stunning view. Despite the quite chilly temperatures, but being warmed up by a bright sun, I spent a lot of time on this amazing terrace during my week in Marseillan. The appartment is designed and built in such a way, that you have that great outdoor-feeling, even while staying inside. Decoration, equipment, location, service and facilities - everything is more than convenient. In short: A place that is highly recommendable - even though I almost would have liked not to write this, be selfish ... and keep this gem as a little secret to myself :-) :-)

We'd planned a long weekend in Marseillan in October and were so pleased to find this lovely apartment was available for our dates. It is in such a great location, just around the corner from the port with all the restaurants and a short walk into the town. Simply and tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Fantastic view across the lagoon form the spacious balcony. Lovely appointed bathroom, but no proper shower, only a shower over the bath, which means showering one handed, but we managed. Great kitchen, with a good range of crockery and equipment and induction hob, however there is only a combination microwave oven, which could be challenging if you prefer a proper oven... but with so many restaurants nearby you don't need to do much cooking.Unfortunately the weather was horrendous for the last couple of days we were there, but we could easily imagine how fabulous it must be in summer. We'd definitely consider staying here again, but not quite so late in the season.

Tranquility
We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay in Ganivelle. A gorgeous apartment, beautifully decorated with everything we needed. The outside terrace was a huge bonus having stayed in other properties in the building. It catches the sun for most of the day.
Marseillan is a great town and there are so many places to eat and things to do. The children spent a lot of time at nearby Kithau. So nice to only use the car if we really had to.
We will return!

Wonderful apartment for a relaxing break
My family and I have just spent a very relaxing week at Ganivelle in Marseillan. The apartment was perfect for our needs and Marseillan proved to be a great spot for winding down after a hectic few months at work, school etc.
During our stay we used our car just once to travel further afield. Ganivelle's perfect balcony was the ideal spot for lounging in the sun and the apartment's air conditioning provided the perfect escape once things got too hot. Marseillan has plenty of restaurant options and shops for those occasions that we decided to stay in for meals.
Would heartily recommend - we will return should we be in this part of France in the future.

Superb Viiews from the private Terrace
We spent a wonderful 11 nights Genivelle apartment.
Marseillan is such a friendly and pretty village . The apartment is only a couple of minutes walk from the Port. Lots of places to dine within easy walking distance. Safe and secure on site parking. Private Terrace perfect for people and boat watching.
What more could you want for a perfect holiday in the South of France. We have booked again already.
Thank you

Fantastic holiday!
Ganivelle is wonderful - stylish, spotless, light, with glass doors that slide open fully onto the most amazing view. The location couldn't be better, on the top of the building steps from the port, restaurants and village. Watersports, bike hire, boat club are also a short walk away. We found so much to do and visit in the area. We will definitely return!

A place to unwind and relax
We stayed for a week - this is our second time in Marseillan - and the property is in an unbeatable location. The view from the terrace is across the water which always something interesting to see. The open aspect gives all day sun (and the sun umbrella is welcome at the height of the day). Restaurants are two minutes walk around the corner.
We went in the week of the fete and there was water jousting at the weekend and during the week a fete for the oyster and a rose wine tasting. Market day on Tuesday was great fun too.
The apartment is beautifully decorated and very relaxing. We slept in the twin room with the air-conditioning and found it quiet and peaceful at night.
I would recommend the apartment for anyone who wants to stay in comfort in an apartment to visit a genuine French town on the water.

Super apartment with fantastic views and near the bustle of harbour restaurants.
The best thing about this apartment is the fantastic terrace overlooking the Etang. We spent much of the week there, watching all the boating and people activity around the harbour. Lots of sailing schools use the Etang. And it was super to be able to walk round the corner to nice restaurants and shops. It's a small apartment but the full width sliding doors make it feel quite spacious and it was well equipped with very comfortable inside and outside furniture. Lack of storage space may make the place feel a bit cramped for four. We preferred the twin bedded room (rather than the platform bed) and this was perfectly fine. Efficient air con kept the place cool at night.
Marseillan is a real gem. A busy little port, small enough to avoid the big seaside crowds but a big enough to feel lively and with a good choice of restaurants. And lots to see in the area if you can tear yourself away from the terrace. We visited Beziers and the canal du midi and Sete.

I'm sure we'll return as it really is the perfect destination!

Enjoyed an absolutely wonderful week in Marseillan. The apartment has the most amazing view from its perfect spot on the roof of the building. We loved the location, steps from the water, the port and the relaxed and friendly village. Great restauraunts and bars. We have never felt so relaxed, eating, drinking and relaxing on the terrace with only the noise of a passing seagull. The apartment is lovely, stylish and all we could want. We are already planning our dates to come back to Ganivelle!

Perfect retreat
We have visited Marseillan many times and have a great deal of affection for this beautiful, friendly little port. There can be no better location than Ganivelle, which has the most perfect view of the water from its large terrace, and is only a minute's walk from all of the cafes and restaurants of the port. The flat itself is very comfortable and well equipped, tastefully decorated and calm - you are both at the heart of everything and yet slightly set apart, so it is peaceful too. The town itself has excellent shops and a great market on Tuesdays, so you don't need a car at all. The flat's owners couldn't be kinder or more helpful, ready to answer any queries we had. We can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return.
