MONTI DISTRICT:
The Rione Monti is one of the most beautiful districts in all of Rome, the name "Monti" derives from the particular geographical location of the district, built right between 3 hills of Rome.
Much of its beauty derives from its narrow streets, from the ancient buildings, from the faded signs of taverns and taverns, from its atmospheres that refer to a forgotten Rome and from a particular vintage charm that embraces the whole district.
Once a popular neighborhood, today the Rione Monti is a favorite destination not only for tourists, but also for Roman youth!
“What to see in Rione Monti?”
Here there are big and small things not to be missed, such as the narrow picturesque alleys, or the large main roads such as Via Nazionale or Via Cavour which, despite being very congested traffic arteries, are two of the most beautiful streets in Rome.
Definitely not to be missed is the Museum of the Imperial Forums, followed by the basilicas of San Giovanni in Laterano and Santa Maria Maggiore, which have certainly played an important role in the growth of the district!
The church of San Pietro in Vincoli which houses Michelangelo's Moses, the sacred chains of St. Peter and the tomb of Julius II.
Colle Oppio Park is perfect for a walk and to enjoy the view of the Colosseum.
Some of the streets to visit absolutely are:
Via Panisperna, one of the most beautiful in Monti. It cuts the neighborhood cleanly and has the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore as a backdrop;
Piazza Madonna dei Monti is the heart of the neighborhood and the favorite place for young people to meet in the evening;
Via Leonina is perhaps the best street for shopping and stocking up on vintage clothes and here on Saturdays the Urban Market of Monti opens;
The Salita dei Borgia, a steep stairway that leads from Via Cavour to San Pietro in Vincoli and which is covered by a cascade of green ivy.
Finally, Via dei Neofiti is a cross-section of the history of the neighborhood, full of small shops and shops selling street food or jewellery.

Riccardo and Patrizia were a pleasure to work with. They made everything simple. The property is unbelievable. Extremely comfortable, breath-taking view of the coliseum and forum, and ideal location to see the sites. Would return in a heart beat. Thank you !

Great location, short walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The view of the Colosseum is pretty dazzling. :)
Very clean, spacious and the outdoor space is magic. Highly recommend.

Beautiful apartment is close to everything. Within easy walking distance of most of Rome's attractions. The outside deck looking over the Forum and Colosseum gives a fantastic view, especially at sunset. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. There is a bar located at the corner of the building that provides good food and coffee. A great place to stay

If you want to be next to the Coliseum and the Roman Forum - in the middle of it all - this place is for you!! The owner answered every email promptly! It is exactly like the pictures- which is beautiful! The balcony had a great view and people watching spot. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!!!

what can I say? This was a trip of a lifetime with our adult children and Ricardo and his team did not let us down with our accommodations! The location was perfect, no I take that back is was better than perfect - we spent many an evening sitting on the balcony enjoying the view of the Colessium, Constatine’s Arch and the Forum. The accomodation were perfect for our group of 6. HIGHLY recommend - you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much Ricardo! The McCullough Clan

This Rome apartment is just amazing! It is literally right next to the Colosseum! Pictures do not do it justice for how close it is. The apartment is lovely and spotlessly clean, very secure and in a very good neighborhood. We would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful apartment, I would say comfortable for 4 people. Amazing location.
Everything was wonderful until one of us said Hello to the security personnel stationed the gate, from the penthouse balcony at approximately 6 p.m.
We are in our 50s and not a rowdy crowd, we came to Italy to experience the food, coffee, wine, and history!
Unfortunately we were treated like criminals after that encounter by the guards and for a short time, by the host. Although everything ended fine!
Loved Rome and the accessibility from the apartment, just wish we would have not been treated the way we were.
Would stay here again, but would make sure to not be too friendly to the security.😕

Riccardo and Patrizia were easy to communicate with and the apartment was perfect as it related to safety, location and cleanliness. Check in was easy and the host helped us arrange transportation to and from the apartment.
We stayed in the apartment with my three children and parents. We have been to Rome on several other occasions, but this stay was unmatched by other places that we stayed in for prior trips. If this apartment is free, you should not hesitate in booking same for your group. Thank you to the hosts for making our stay in Rome a perfect one for my family. We hope to be back.

Fantastic location, great property , perfect owner/management. Amazing views. In the middle of everything yet the unit was quiet. A great property that we will be returning to.

Absolutely recommend staying here. The location was perfect, the view and the balcony were beautiful and well enjoyed with a bottle of wine or lemoncello. We felt incredibly safe throughout the stay, check-in and check-out was incredibly easy and the property was very clean. Communication with Riccardo and Patrizia was always timely and they always provided the answers we had both before our stay and during our stay.
Cannot recommend enough. My husband and I have nothing bad to say about this property. We greatly enjoyed our stay with our daughter and look forward to returning some day.

The penthouse is mere steps from the Colosseum. The penthouse was clean, well-appointed, and upscale. The entry to the unit included security and an elevator. The views of Rome from the balcony were incredible. We plan to visit Rome again, and this location is where we plan to stay.

My husband and I as well as my son and his wife were fortunate enough to rent this wonderful apartment while in Rome. The view of the Colosseum and Roman Forum from the terrace was outstanding and the location to almost everything we did was within walking distance. We did take a taxi to the Vatican but walked back after our tour. The apartment is so spacious with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved having a washer/dryer to use. Property management was excellent and communication with Riccardo was flawless.

Riccardo was a 5 star host and the apartment was everything the description provided. We felt welcome and loved Claudias homemade limoncello. The one issue that is out of the host’s control was the back bedroom overlook of the colosseum metro. Both Friday and Saturday night, large rowdy crowds collected and were yelling and lighting fireworks after 10 pm in early October. Did not hear this so much in the front of this magnificent apartment. Overall a great experience!

Beautiful and well maintained property with an exceptional view of the Colosseum! Our hosts were so accessible and helpful. Thank you to Riccardo, Patrizia and Francesco for making our stay so memorable!

Perfect 2 bedroom house - excellent location right by the Colosseum! Walked everywhere except to Vatican (short cab). Communication was great with property owner. Check in process was seamless. Would stay here again and recommend to friends/family to stay here!

Great property with an even greater location. Apartment was exactly as depicted in photos. Incredible view from balcony never lost its impact. Check in was a breeze. Patrizia even spent additional time recommending sites, restaurants, best gelato, etc. Thanks to Riccardo and team for a wonderful stay.

I stayed in this property for a few days with my family of 6. First, even before we arrived, communication with Riccardo is incredible. He is extremely responsive and even helped us book transport from the airport to the apartment. The driver was waiting for us in the terminal upon our arrival. Patrizia met us for check in. She walked us through the apartment and showed us how everything worked and then gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. The air conditioning was beautiful and welcome after the heat of the day. The view from the balcony is beyond compare. It was just breathtaking - especially at night. The apartment is spacious and immaculate!
Riccardo - thank you for an incredible stay! You were wonderful and we appreciated your communication! We hope to be back again!

This property is beautiful! The location cannot be beat! The view overlooking the forum is breathtaking. The access is made easier by the elevator and is secure with locked gates. The neighborhood is very quiet at night and safe. There is a military security detail posted outside 24/7 (VIP resident) The decorations in the apartment are designer style. Ricardo, the property manager is always available and is very helpful. Patrizia checked us in and sat down with us to go over the sites as shown a map. She is a wealth of information! The air conditioning was wonderful to come home to and at night was a godsend in the 90 degree heat and 85% humidity! The two sofas and chair in the living room are old and covered with throw-covers. They are in need of replacement. In one bedroom, there is nowhere to hang clothes or a dresser with drawers for storing clothes. There is no place to put a suitcase except on the floor. There is no useable chair and no suitcase stands. The mattress in this bedroom needs to be replaced. It is a foam mattress with “divets” where people have consistently laid on both edges of the bed. The kitchen is beautiful and very cute! There is a new washer and dryer (one piece unit) but I could not figure out how it worked! All of the controls are in Italian and there were no instructions. The bathrooms are beautiful and have bath sheets that are big and fluffy. But in the apartment there is no Kleenex. All in all it is a great unit!

My husband and son stayed in this beautifully appointed apartment in Rome for five nights in July 2023. We can't say enough good things about this apartment, which was exactly as it appeared in all the photos. The view overlooking the forum and the colosseum is spectacular and it is conveniently located to other major sites. Riccardo was a wonderful host!

Fantastic apartment right next to the Colloseum. The host was responsive and accommodating.
Highly recommended.

This apartment was perfect! Very clean and in the best location, right around the corner from the metro station and everytime you left the apartment the Colosseum was your view!
We spent time on the balcony watching the sunset which was beautiful.
Riccardo was very helpful and arranged our car service from the airport. Also within walking distances there were amazing restaurants and the area was very safe.
I can’t say enough about this rental - we would definitely rent this home again for our next visit.

Spacious and elegant apartment. There were just two of us. The air conditioners worked great. The location was great to see the Colosseum and Forum, of course, but also a perfect spot to catch a cab.

Our family visited Italy for the first time and we are so glad we booked here. We had easy access to the historical sites and could return to the house to rest before going out at night. This is the best location with the most beautiful view. Beds were ok, handles of doors took time to get used to, but the good definitely outweighed the inconvenient. Would love to return and stay here again!

Nice clean apartment. Host was very accommodating to any requests for transfers and questions.

After postponing this trip for three years due to the pandemic, we had some excess funds and a reason to splurge. We are suckers for a good view and history buffs as well...so the ability to sit on a balcony overlooking the Roman Forum complex and see the Colosseum as the sun sets in the west, all while enjoying a bottle of wine most evenings was a huge draw. A long day of touring, is made all the better with that way of unwinding. If you want it, there is also a soaking tub which my wife certainly enjoyed to rest weary muscles after walking about 10 miles each day.
Add in a great kitchen complete with ice trays (seriously this was the only place out of the four we stayed at in Italy which had ice available in the freezer) and we were able to enjoy a few home cooked meals with the most amazing view.
The place was clearly larger than the two of us needed, it was larger than our first apartments...but it was certainly worth it for that magical view. We even got to watch two seagulls hatch on the roof of the building just below the balcony. The location is perfect, just steps from the metro and only a few more to the ancient ruins. It is easy to get out and enjoy the place before the crowds flood in every day, and even fun to watch the crowds thin as the sun goes down. This isn't an every trip splurge but for a long delayed and now more meaningful trip, it was certainly worth it for us.

This was a lovely unit directly next to the Colosseum with views of the forum. We loved the layout of the unit and the unit was clean and spacious. The owner was very responsive to even the smallest problem we had, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. There were a few little tiny glitches like an uncomfortable bed and knobs that were hard to turn, but all rentals have these quirks. As a whole, you could not do better than this apartment in Rome.
