About this villa rental
Villa Daskaleio is located on the majestic, Mediterranean shores of the Aegean Sea in mainland Greece. The seaside resort of Daskaleio is home to this unique property constructed in the early 70’s by the renowned architects, Rita and Inis Mesare. The stunning estate, nestled on the seaside slopes, assures utmost discretion and tranquillity; an exceptionally rare feature so close to Athens.
The gated villa commands stunning, panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. The extra-large semicircle terrace of 100sqm, overlooking the bay, is the ideal place to relax after a day at the seaside, dine, or just relish in the estate's strategically sublime exposure to sunrise and sunset, providing exceptional light and perspective at all times of the day. A rocky beach lies directly below the property (2 minute walk, accessible by a staircase) as well as 2 sandy beaches, at about 10-15 minute walk. The Villa, built exclusively with stone and wood, boasts a 7m vaulted ceiling over the abundantly spacious common area of 160sqm, decorated with rustic antiques. These living and dining rooms are fabulous for entertaining large groups, with an additional 100 sqm of exterior, connecting seaside terraces. The villa has 5 bedrooms, all with their own unique character, 4 of which are connected via seaside outside terrace, a fully equipped kitchen and 3 bathrooms which complete the accommodation needs.
Outside, lush gardens encompass the front and rear of the expansive 3.5 acre property. The pathway-interweaved gardens feature several nooks and crannies perfect for kids' games, a romantic stroll, or just an extra quiet spot to relax. Alternatively, those with some extra energy may indulge in a game of tennis or basketball, on the private court on the property, while overlooking the Aegean...
Authentic Greek tavernas are within a 5-10 minute walk with delicious fresh fish among other local delicacies. Homegrown garden herbs and vegetables are available for complimenting any culinary occasion, and recommended world-class Greek Wine List is provided and can be fulfilled upon request.

This villa exceeded all expectations with its amazing views, spacious living areas, and welcoming hosts. Perfect for family gatherings and relaxing holidays.

It's rare to find a place that lives up to the photos and description, but this is one. The home is so full of comfortable spots to relax, amazing views, and things to do that I can't possibly cover it all in a review. It was perfect for our group of 7, plus a pile of guests when the owner graciously allowed us to host a family get-together. And speaking of the owner: I have never encountered a more responsive and accommodating host.
The villa is secluded and quiet, yet an easy walk to several delightful restaurants and a range of beaches. You will definitely want a car, as there is no grocery store in town, and the public bus is infrequent. It's a great base to explore eastern Attica and visit Athens (the Doukissis Placentia station has a large car park and frequent metro service into the city).
Just a couple of cautionary notes: The home has interior steps that may be challenging for the mobility impaired. And most of the windows and doors have no screens, so the whole group has to be diligent about keeping them closed to minimize encounters with unpleasant wildlife like mosquitoes.
I would not hesitate to stay here again for our next big fat Greek family holiday!

We had a gorgeous relaxing holiday in this beautiful house with its sea views and spacious living areas. We were welcomed by the friendly owners who were on hand at all times during our stay. The area is perfect for a family holiday, we loved swimming off the rocks and snorkelling just two minutes from the house. The water was so clear and so much to see under there! We loved the local tavernas and the food was out of this world. Altogether a wonderful stay in Greece at Villa Daskaleio.

We got together with my family (parents, brothers, their families and my family) for a family vacation coming from different parts of the world.
The villa was big enough to host 18 people (including 2 babies) during a whole week.
It was the best week in quite some time.
The location of the house is just perfect, it far enough of every bigger city but not that far from Athens. So, you can visit in just 1 hour the bug and history-loaded city if Athens and enjoy the rest of the time a somewhat from the tourist-hordes isolated location in Daskaleio. Nearby youll find at least two small beaches where you can walk into the wonderful greek sea. But you actually dont need the beachea, because you can jump right of the rocks right beneath the house.
And if you dont like the ocean, just relax in the private swimming pool from morning till evening, it's just perfect.
The several sitting and relaxing places around the house offer something for anybody and the gigantic room inside of the house is amazing!
With coutches for everyone, a big kitchen to prepare meals for everyone and a big nice wooden table with at least 12 sitting places.
The sleeping rooms are enough for that, sleeping and resting, but with a nice joint terrace with seaview, lots of drawers and a ery efective air conditioning system (we had average of 35°C, so we know).
And of course, Alex and Socrates, the best hosts and organizators EVER! We felt extremly welcome right from the first contact and until our leave.
Thanks!

We've had a wonderfull time at the villa.
Our teens (age 10, 11, 14, 15 and 15) enjoyed the swimmingpool, tenniscord and tabletennis table. The adults enjoyed te breakfast on the terrass in the sun and the bbq in the evening.
The area is quite (beginning of May) but there are plenty of interesting daytrips you can make. If you want to do something, other then enjoying your company and the house and surroundings.
The contact with the house owner is correct. If you have an question the reaction time is very fast.
For the first day the owners provided enough food to make a simpele pasta.
Look no further if you looking for a hide Seat house.

It was better than we even expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing villa. We had 11 adults and one baby and there was more than enough space. The kitchen was well-stocked, there are plenty of recreational items to use (for the pool, sea, or sports). The propane grill worked well. We loved cooking and eating on the patio every night of our 5-night stay.
The booking process and pre-arrival communication was very fast and accurate, as was the check-in on site.
We'd like to stay in this villa again i the future.

Beautiful house in a gorgeous garden landscape

We have just returned from a wonderful spring trip to Greece. The villa we stayed in made it a fantastic trip.
The landlord’s communications were excellent – the directions to the house were very straightforward and though we arrived very late at night it was easy to check in.
The house had a fabulous welcome set up – with milk, cheese, fruit, bread, tea, coffee – it made such a big difference to our holiday. Our flight came in at almost midnight and we didn’t have to dash to the shops first thing in the morning but instead we were able to rise at our leisure, enjoy the beautiful views over the sea, and sip coffee on the balconies!
The house is on a little bay, it is very private and has beautiful balconies with sea views as well as a fabulous pool area. The pool is on a patio surrounded by beautiful plants, catches the sun and is very sheltered. There are toys in a very helpful cupboard.
Indoors the house is airy and spacious – our youngest child is 10 and so we didn’t have to worry but there are loads of beautiful antiques and dried flowers which might be challenging with young children. The kitchen is incredibly well supplied with everything for cooking and serving beautiful meals as well as herbs, oils, vinegars and jams – again so helpful for a holiday!
Our daughter rode at a nearby stables – Kouvaras Equestrian – who were fantastic and we’d highly recommend them. We snorkelled in the bay, visited the Acropolis, Corinth, Poseidon’s temple and went to Athens Zoo. Spring was a wonderful time to come and though the nights were cool the house had loads of warm fluffy blankets we put on beds. We’re happy to highly recommend this house!

Excellent, comfortable villa with great views
We had a wonderful time. The villa was well appointed, extremely comfortable and clean with great views. The owners took great care to make all aspects of our stay extremely comfortable. Enjoyed the pool and the tennis courts! Thoroughly recommend this for two families of 8 or 10 people.

Adorable and charming villa with plenty of space
Adorable villa with a fantastic spacious living-room, wonderful swimming pool and all utensils you need. Added to that we were hearty welcomed by we owners and got splendid service during our stay. We all (8 adults and 6 children) spent 8 days here and we recommed it gladly. However the number of restaurants in the village is limited and the menues are very greek with almost just fish dishes. If you don´t see that as a disadvantage do not hesitate to choose this villa.

Wonderful
The house is unbelievably beautiful and arranged in outstanding good taste. Everything was more than we expected. The property is extremely clean and well kept, including garden and swimming pool. We were very impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the owner. We will definitely recommend this property to all our friends and relatives.

Beautiful vila, great hosts
We stayed at this vila for a family get-together. 16 people overall. The property is extremely well maintained, with an impressive touch for the finer aesthetic details. The property owners are very friendly and go out of their way in welcoming and ascertaining a pleasant stay. The village is very quiet, the beach with pristine water, and Athens is only one hour away. Highly recommended.

Great villa for the perfect family holiday
We needed a spacious villa for our party of 8 adults and 5 children, and we got just what we wanted! It is even better than it looks online. Huge, well-equipped, clean, quiet and with a great view, it feels just right. Everything works. It has a well-stocked kitchen all imaginable machines and with tea, coffee, sugar etc, etc available in the cupboards, as well as a large selection of mama's homemade jam. Laertis, one of the sons, gave a guided tour and made us feel welcome. The pool area is great, we all loved it, and the children were in and out of the water all day. The grounds are enormous and very private. Although the sea is warm and with lovely, clear water, the nearby beaches are not great for children. However, there is one just a 10 minute walk away that is OK. The village consists almost exclusively of villas, with 3 tavernas and virtually no shopping, so you need a car for supplies. We only tried the nearest taverna, it was adequate. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

there are no way to describe the architectural masterpiece this home is nor the amazing location and breath-taking beauty of the garden, then add to this a generous welcome with a full fridge and a house containing everything a person could possibly wish for. And I haven't mentioned the views...I almost would prefer to tell you keep this gem a secret!

This is an exceptional property, lovingly maintained by the owner family. The facilities were as described and we (6 adults and 2 children) were very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful location of the property, the amazing sea views from every angle of the house and by the owners' willingness to provide a very personal and helpful service.During our week's stay, we particularly enjoyed the villa's excellent pool and surrounding garden, providing attractive sitting areas during the hottest times of the day. Evening meals at the local tavernas were very enjoyable although, equally fun was staying at home and eating in the fabulous, cool dining area. If you travel with young children, bear in mind that the local two beaches are pebbly at places and beach shoes are recommended. Also, the sea shore immediately underneath the property is rocky and descend to the sea is difficult. However, once you find your way down, you will be rewarded with crystal clear waters and amazing snorkelling. A car would be essential. We would wholeheartedly recommend this property.

Amazing Villa in an incredible location
This is truly an amazing house, in a perfect location. We slept 14 people comfortably without any issues. The pool was perfect, and our children loved it. For those not familiar with the Greek coast, I would comment that the beaches are definitely close, but not sandy. This was a disappointment, but certainly not a deal breaker. Dealing with the owner was easy, and any minor issues that we had were addressed immediately.

Exceptional property
Villa Daskaleio is very atractively located within easy reach from Athens airport, a welcome start to any holiday after a long international flight.
This is not an ordinary holiday rental. The villa's generous proportions, cool interiors and extremely well appointed bedrooms provided our family, six adults and two children, with a wealth of different areas in which to relax. The amazing photo of the round veranda looking out over blue sea, is as breathtaking in real life as on the website.
The owners were very helpful in answering all our questions and are availble should any need arise.
Not surprising given the time of the year, the two local beaches, (Limanaki 1 +2) were extremely busy. They are quite pebbly once you enter the water so beach shoes are recommended.
Our family hugely enjoyed the swimming pool and we did not miss swimming in the sea. We really appreciated the beautiful architectural cool indoor spaces, all decorated with exquisite family objects and mementoes that the owners entrust their visitors with. It was these personal touches of true Greek hospitality that made this holiday home stand out from all the others we have experienced.
We have already recommended this villa to friends. Even though Daskaleio has a few tavernas, we found the use of a rented car really useful for trips to the Keratea supermarkets.

The ripperest villa in Greece
Everything about this marvellous property oozes with Hellenic flair. It is fully equipped with everything you could desire and the communal spaces are both spacious and homely. The view over the sweeping Aegean Ocean is simply stunning and many a happy hour were spent on the balcony admiring all that nature has to offer.
The owners were generous beyond measure, and helped to make us feel truly at home.
The sleeping arrangements were slightly cramped (for 13 of us), but this did not matter as it meant that we were ready to get up and get going at the start of each day!
Making friends with a local taxi driver meant that buying food and drink from the nearby supermarket/ local stores in Keratea was easy and economical. For smaller parties, a car will be useful, especially if you intend to do a lot of sightseeing.
We had lunch and dinner at a few of the local tavernas which provided tasty and traditional local Greek delicacies. The 1.2kg of squid for two was a highlight!
The pool and table tennis table in particular fitted the bill perfectly, as did the snorkelling kit and the herb garden and fig trees were raided with gumption. In terms of the other gear, the tennis balls and racquets could do with replacing, along with the fishing kit. But that would be being highly pernickety. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at this most magical location, and would recommend people don't go there so that we can go back instead!!

Perfect for a family vacation
We had a great family vacation with our 3 kid, my sister's 3 kids and my parents. The house is big enough where one can find there own quite peaceful space or viewpoint but also the best part was how easy it was to be together due to the unique central area of the house and huge terrace. The house has all the amenities you need, enjoyed the basil plants and tons of swimming pool toys. While the area of Daskaleio is not very interesting, there are a couple of nice restaurants and it's very easy to visit other places (nicer beaches 15 minutes away or go to Athens or visit the temple of Poseidon). Our hosts were also very nice and generous.

A beautiful stay in this quiet and very nice villa
The architecture of the villa is unique.
From the terraces, the landscape is really great.
Owners are very kind.
There are some little restaurants not far from to the villa (we especially appreciated Taverna Lista).
We really spent a nice stay there.

Perfect house and surroundings for three families
We had a wonderful stay at this house in July. The house is spacious and with character. We were three families with children who stayed there for a week. The children loved the pool and we used the tennis court for basketball, football and tennis. The owners are friendly and we appreciated the local products they had made. The area is quiet and not touristic. The local fish restaurant was very good.

Need a holiday? Generous, beautiful, relaxing!
We arrived (car rental from airport recommended), were briefly and warmly greeted by the owners (a little home-made jam and wine were waiting for us too) and were then left to enjoy this amazing property in the most beautiful setting.
The week was spend sunbathing on the impressive sun terrace with an incredible view over the Aegean sea, swimming in the pool or the sea (just a stone throw away, literally), playing basketball and tennis on the own court on site and exploring the vast site, finding a little stone wall to rest on in the shade under an olive tree, visiting one of the taverns close by (10min walking distance) to have some fresh fish...or simply slouching on the large sofas in the living space to write a few mails.
If you’re after hard-core partying with shops and discos close by this is NOT for you. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle then DO IT! Great for a group of friends or families. Clean house, kitchen has all necessary equipment, generous dining table and 3 neat bathrooms. Supermarkets and all necessary shops about 10-15min drive away.
We booked a week May – lower rent than in the peak season, weather sunny, temperatures in the high 20s – highly recommended. We’re planning 2015 already.
