Amazing week at Chateau du Trichot
We had a lovely week at Chateau du Trichot with family and friends. The place is absolutely perfect for groups with children of different ages - swimming pool, tennis, table tennis and beautiful and spacious garden kept them entertained all the time. The main house was extremely charming and comfortable with large bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen - we couldn’t ask more. Also the cottage on the side was just great. During the week we were in contact with owners and the housekeeper - can’t thank them enough for all the help and friendliness. The location of the Chateau du Trichot is also great with all the shopping possibilities nearby as well s wide range of activities.
Hope to return someday!

Fabulous family Holiday
We had a wonderful week at Chateau du Trichot. What a lovely home you have. We saw much to enjoy in the garden, including two deer, humming birds on the lavender and a very sedate hare. The pool was rarely empty and we (attempted to) play tennis ! We all enjoyed evening singing around the Grand Piano, after warm balmy suppers on the Terrace. We packed the car with a lot of local wine and duck to bring home.
Murielle was first class and I enjoyed practising my French with her. I also had a chat with your neighbour who popped in with some local fruit, that I hope you've enjoyed by now.
We enjoyed every moment of it, bar three glasses which we broke, our apologies (two wine and one small tumbler ) I hope everything else was left in order ? Would love to return. Amanda & Stephen

A fantasy vacation in a medieval chateau
We have rented properties 7 times in the last 20 years in the southwest of France. Trichot was far and away the best. Over the course of 8 weeks our whole family- 4 adult children, their spouses, 8 grandchildren with their significant others, 2 great grandchildren- and numerous close friends came. The vote was unanimous- the best ever. Everything was as promised but more so. Trichot is an owner lived in property furnished in impeccable taste, from the kitchen to the dining room to the Irving room to all the bedrooms to the outside amenities. Muryelle, the housekeeper, comes 3 times a week and is a godsend. Antoine takes care of the property beautifully. The wi-fi works very well. The Bechstein piano is a joy to play and listen to. The tennis court is well maintained. The sunflowers growing in the adjacent field at the end of July were magnificent. The vineyard on the property just adds to the fantasy of staying at Trichot. As an added bonus is the wonderful little village of Thezac, complete with an old church at which we heard a flute quintet, and watched the Bastille Day fireworks from the comfort of the outside dining table, and the neighboring basted of Tournon-d’Agenais, a gem with a weekly Marche gourmand beginning in July. Last but perhaps most important Joanna and Bill Stuart-Bruges are the perfect hosts. They made our stay even more memorable with suggestions about local concerts, events, restaurants, and marches (both markets and hikes).

A BLISSFUL Holiday!
We all felt in heaven at Chateau du Trichot. Thank you so much! We absolutely loved it the minute we arrived we felt totally at home and happy. We can understand how much you love it and we can see how much you have done to make it so wonderful for everyone, ideal for all ages!
We walked a bit, the country is so beautiful, but really the sun was amazingly hot and the swimming pool was just so perfect. Later we used the flood lit Tennis Court when cooler! Thank you so much for the bottles of wine, also the delicious pate de foie; All your directions were perfect and the file with everything in it, hugely helpful. The house is brilliantly equipped and Hannah was terribly happy in the kitchen. She is such a fantastic help and a wonderful cook. (We are very spoilt)!! So glad we passed Muriel's inspection!! She was terribly nice and obviously brilliant at her job.
We would like to book again for next year please!! Angela.

Stunning Chateau!
We have just returned home from a two week stay at Chateau Trichot and just had to write a review about our magical stay. A beautiful Chateau with relaxing days around the pool, playing tennis with friends, strolling amongst the vines and walks through the sunflower fields with the dog, it was everything it could of been and more. Our stay at Chateau Trichot was truly amazing, we have been rewarded with fantastic memories that we will never forget.
It has truly made our entire year and we hope to rerun as soon as possible. Highly recommended.

Idyllic!
This place is a little oasis of heaven. You don't get much more atmospheric than a 12th century chateau with four-poster beds and its own vineyard surrounded by rolling hills and sunflowers. The grounds go on for ever, with beautiful spots for picnicking while children explore. There are two grand reception rooms, with sofas, huge fire-places, a huge dining-room table and a piano. All the bedrooms are different and lovely in their own quirky ways, and the master bedroom is a wow. The chateau feels medieval, with thick, blanket-like curtains, cast-iron chandeliers and an enormous, wide stone staircase. Apart from the tiny, old church visible from the gate, civilisation seems a distant memory. However, there's an excellent supermarket 4km away that has everything, and some super shops in Fumel, including a patisserie that does the scrummiest little gateaux ever. There is heaps to do round about, but we don't bother as it's just so lovely spending time there, mooching around the pool, enjoying the chateau and 'playing' tennis. Wherever you are, the views are beautiful, with ancient cedars and wonderful, mature and beautifully kept gardens all round. It's very well equipped too, and we wanted for nothing. We've been there in the winter too, when the oak fires and comfy furniture come into their own. Winter or summer, it's the most romantic place we've ever stayed, and we've stayed in an awful lot of places. That's why we got married there, with friends and family staying in Cardou (the other chateau that sleeps 20+ about 3km away). Jo Stuart-Bruges couldn't have been more helpful, getting the place ready for us and putting us in touch with local people who did wonderful decor and food etc. It's easy to get to, with plenty of flights going from the UK to airports round about. It's also drivable in a day. We'll be back again and again.
