The perfect little cottage and the best hosts! The cottage is really comfortable and has everything you need. The location is perfect and really quiet. It’s a really good base to explore the area. The llamas were a bonus! There are other cottages close by on the premises, if you have a larger group.

We really enjoyed our time at the secret cottage, owners were very friendly and helpful. Directions and instructions were clear, it’s in a nice quiet area with woodland walks near by. The cottage was amazing and had everything needed. We would highly recommend and will be returning.

Anniversary get away.
Me and my husband stayed in The Secret Cottage. We stayed here for two nights. It really was a sweet little cottage and Lovely surroundings. The alpaca’s right by our cottage was an added bonus. The only drawback was our mobile signal when trying to ring for several taxi’s, was very poor. We had no luck, so changed the eating venue to the pub, which was just a few minutes walk down the road. Great service in there, and great food. Amanda did recommend the pub to us, and I’m so glad we ended up going there. We wanted to be able to have a drink and not drive, so it was just perfect.
A lovely little stay for us both, and would highly recommend to friends and family ☺️

Quirky and quiet
This is a slightly different chalet style cottage tucked away in a very quiet corner of the owners grounds. Overall its a lovely little spot with own terraced area (and gas barbecue if you feel inclined) but the sleeping areas, reached up loft type ladders, are small and a bit cramped, and privacy is limited if you are say with friends, both sleeping areas being open to the main lounge area below. The chemical toilet is also a little unusual for those not used to one. I also dont like the idea of paying an upfront deposit against breakages etc. (albeit this was refunded straight away) but this may be a Homeaway policy and not the owners. Overall its different and far better than many of the local pubs etc particularly for the peace and quiet it provides.

Eine sehr idyllische Lage und ein hübsches Häuschen auf einem grosszügigen Grundstück.
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Unsere Tochter wollte gar nicht wieder fort!

Perfect escape
We needed a quiet, secluded, comfortable, cosy place to have a weekend of rest and solitude. This cottage gave us all of that, although as someone who knows that part of Kent, I also know that it is perfectly situated for a more active break. So absolutely perfect, whether one wants quiet seclusion or a convenient and inviting base from which to have a more active holiday.
The facilities were all one needed. Compact but not at all claustrophobic. Very comfortable, and the owners were very welcoming and accommodating.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the Secret Cottage, and although we were there in February, I'm sure it's wonderful in summer!!

Sweet cottage in its own private grounds, in a spacious, idyllic setting.
New wooden cottage with 2 cosy bedrooms and everything you could need for a holiday, including lots of outside space, dining and easy chairs and tables to enjoy barbecue meal or just to relax. My husband, teenage daughter and I had plenty of room within the cottage and we loved the fact that it was a very tranquil setting and plenty of wildlife to see within the mature trees and shrubbery (squirrels, rabbits, various birds). The interior has luxurious fittings and furniture - even down to the bathroom towels!
Great location to visit London by train, the south coast (we went by car) or the local towns have their own individual shops, historic buildings and other places of interest. Amanda and Tim were very friendly and gave us advice and directions whenever we needed it, in addition to the Guest Information book held within the cottage.
Would certainly consider returning as there is so much to sightsee with a welcoming peaceful retreat to stay in.
