Niesamowicie spokojna, wypielęgnowana przestrzen w dzikiej okolicy.

The owner is very friendly, speaks good english and helped me with the jeep safari.
Beautiful view on the lake during breakfast. And a lot of birds. There is bus stop nearby (ask the owner). And also a fun bar close to a small stream.

Everything about this place was fantastic!
Very nice owner, who made sure we had a wonderful stay. Free bikes to use. Delicious breakfast!
It's an excellent and peaceful location with a beautiful view of the river.
The room was spacious and very clean.
Would highly recommend staying here if you come to Udawalawe.
HOW TO GET THERE:
If you're coming by bus from Thanamalwila, insist the busdriver to stop at the busstop of Udawalawe Hydro Power Plant at the mainroad, it's a 30min walk from there. Otherwise the busdriver seems to drop off all tourists at the junction which is 4km away, collaborating with the tuktuks as you have no other option than to take an overpriced tuktuk.
If you travel onward to Embilipitiya, the busstop is just a 5 min walk from the mainroad of the accomodation. Turn left and walk to the bridge. It's the starting point of the bus to Embilipitiya, where you can take another bus to the south/Tangalle.

This place is paradise. The host has created an Amazing garden, the „bungalows“ are well furnished and comfortable and the location is perfect for 2-3 nights or even longer.
The owner made the most amazing dishes for breakfast and lunch- very delicious local specialties (we had banana flower relish for example as part of the breakfast).
He also organised a wonderful tour at Udawalawe and took us to a non touristic mountain temple and the elephant orphanage and gave us fishing gear and
Thanks for this memorable stay!
All perfect

Yonan River Face Safari is one of the most unique places we have ever stayed, and will live a long time in our memories.
The property itself is beautifully located next to the river (although as it is a river channel, it appears more like a lake) and amidst the jungle. It is a simple property, with two large cottages for guests and a covered seating/dining area by the water. The facilities are all clean and well-maintained, and Ruby the dog is very friendly and cute.
For the scenic location alone, Yonan River Face would be a lovely place to stay whilst visiting Udawalawe for a safari. However, as so many reviews mention, it is the owner and host Rajewa that makes this place so special. He is an incredibly kind man who truly wishes to provide the very best for his guests. He helped us to arrange a safari with an excellent guide; provided us with bicycles to explore the surrounding area; let us pick pineapples from the garden; took us to a local temple site; and even invited us to help prepare and eat a meal with his friends and family to celebrate the New Year! We shared many stories and toasts of arrack, and it was a truly lovely travelling experience that made our holiday so much better.
The food was absolutely tremendous. We stayed for 3 nights and ate dinner at the hotel every evening. Each meal was freshly prepared and allowed us to sample a huge range of cuisine, from traditional dishes such as daal, to more unusual ones like June plum in sweet barbecue sauce. Breakfast was similarly varied and excellent.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay where you will be treated like an old friend, this is the place! It is also exceptionally good value for money.
There isn't much else around the property aside from a few bars a 10-minute cycle away. This creates a lovely sense of tranquility, but could be somewhat inconvenient. We would suggest stocking up on any essentials before arrival.

Everything. This is such amazing value for money. The location is stunning, right on the lakefront. We were able to bird watch via a kayak which you can borrow. The owner, Rajeewa, is such a friendly and kind man. He arranged a safari and a taxi to our next destination at a very fair price. He also gave advice for how to get to the elephant transit centre and even has some bicycles to use to make the short journey to the village centre. The room was perfect with good aircon and a hot shower. He can also cook a delicious dinner for a good price. We would advise everyone to stay if you have the chance.
We only stayed for one night!

Great location directly at a lake where you can swim and close to the national parc. The owner is very nice and helpful in organizing stuff/trips and prepares very delicious breakfast. Best money-value accomodation we had on our trip, can 100% recommend!

If you are looking for a place close to Uda Walawe National Park, this is the place! You definitely should stay here. The place is very lovely and quiet, next to a beautiful lake. But above all the owner is such a nice and kind person. He will make you very comfortable and he will think of everything you need. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners he prepared for us. They were the best we had in Sri Lanka and all with local ingredients and products. So highly recommended!

The host was so kind, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are right by the river and it is quiet and serene. Rooms were clean and host greeted us with a fresh fruit drink and served us a lovely breakfast.
Due to the rooms being close to the river there were ants all over the room. However the host help us get rid of them and kept checking that we were satisfied.

Amazing stay. You have your own bungalow in a nature paradise in front of a beautiful lake. Room very clean, top A/C, hot water and good furnished.
Host is the kindest person you will meet. He‘s doing everything for his guest’s, even preparing 2hours for an amazing breakfast. Our stay couldn’t be better. Thank you so much.
just one small thing, the wifi wasn’t that good.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Yonan River Face Safari Resort, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning location of the resort. Situated right in front of the lake, the views were simply breathtaking, and the peaceful ambiance of the surroundings made my stay all the more enjoyable.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The owner himself prepared breakfast and dinner for me, and it was some of the most delicious food I've ever tasted. He clearly has a talent for cooking, and the attention to detail put into every dish was remarkable. I was particularly impressed by his use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, which added an extra dimension of flavor to the meals.
But what really stood out about my stay was the owner himself. He is an incredibly kind and gracious person, and he went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. He took the time to get to know me and my preferences, and he made sure that all my needs were met. His hospitality and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home, and I could tell that he genuinely cared about my well-being.
In addition to his hospitality, the owner also organized a safari for me, which was one of the highlights of my trip. The pickup was right at the resort, which made things incredibly convenient, and the safari itself was simply amazing. The guide provided insightful commentary about the animals and their behavior, and I was able to see some truly remarkable sights.
Overall, I had an amazing time at Yonan River Face Safari Resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The stunning location, delicious food, kind owner, and organized safari make this resort a must-visit destination.

Amazing place to chill and relax by the lake and have the amazing local food.
You got a welcome drink and a lot of authentic food.
Be aware since there is no network coverage, but the wifi is good.
Enjoy chilling at the swing, doing yoga and kayaking in this private lake.
The owner is an outstanding man, with a lot of passion and love to nature.
Extremely recommended

The host is extremely friendly and has a mind blowing life story. He is very helpful and arranged an awesome Safari Tour for us at Udawalawe National Parc. The facilities are great, decent Wifi, nice clean rooms and aircon. Location is 10/10 because you have a lake in front and you can reach the main road by bike (host will provide you for free) in 10 minutes.
Breakfast is outstanding, as well as dinner.
Would love to go there again!!

We are a honeymoon couple travelling Sri Lanka for two weeks and wanted to experience different areas.
Rajeewa’s stay is the best experience of hospitality we have ever had, the location of the resort is so picturesque, the incredible food was delicious. rajeewa prepared a delicious traditional Sri Lankan meal with a fish caught from the lake that evening! the safari experience was amazing as well, we saw elephants, baby elephants, crocodile, monkeys, so many amazing birds.
we cannot rate this accommodation highly enough, it really was special and a few days we will always remember. thank you rajeewa!!

The place seems detached from the stories, very quiet, among the coconut trees, with a very beautiful yard that reaches the edge of a lake. You will see all kinds of creatures that will delight you.
The owner is a man of incredible kindness and a great cook. He even helped us organize our safari trip.

The guide that the owner arranged to visit Udawalawe National Park was great. Also free bikes to cycle the few kilometres into town and the Elephant Transit Home.

Absolutely paradise! We were the only two staying there (there are only two cabins) and Rajewa was an amazing host. We had both breakfast and dinner with him and everything was incredibly tasty (we are vegetarian) - so much food! The safari with Sunjee was wonderful - he is very funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommend taking the safari through them! Super great value for money!!

dogs barking, breakfast meal was poor

Nice setting on the river, safari was easy to organise with the owner, fair priced. Bungalow was clean and well equipped.
I don't like people who are harsh to animals, so I didn't like how the owner treated his dog. Also the place is far away from everything and you need a Tuktuk to go places, which we had to organise ourselves as the owner barely speaks any English.

a absolut fantastic place. nice little Bungalow with bathroom, hot shower and AC. Breakfast and Dinner were great. The view on the lake is also fantastic. They also have bikes and a kayak.
But the greatest are the lovely people there. The owner is a very nice and kind man. Happy to met him. We will come back.
nothing, all absolute fantastic

The location on the river is amazing and the rooms have everything they need, clean, proper air conditioning, fridge etc.). The owner takes care of the guests himself and is really nice and helpful, he also organizes the safari for you, the driver Sujee is also a great guide. The owner asks you what you want for breakfast and dinner and it was authentic and good. There are only two bungalows on his ground, therefore it is quiet and familiar. You see some palm trees and chipmunks are passing now and then, that's it. Would totally recommend it.
Nothing.

Amazing place! We loved to stay here at this beutiful resort just by the lake. We had a lovely host who made us feel warmly welcome. The dinner at the evening was incredible. So much yummie food. The host arranged safari tour for us and we saw a lot of animals. We now regret we just stayed one night.

The safari we booked trough the hotel with Sunjee was also very good and we enjoyed our stay to the max!

The setting of the property in front of the lake is incredibly idyllic. Accommodation is very well presented with views over the peaceful water from each of the two bungalows. A sanctuary of calmness after 2 nights in Ella. Meals are eaten in a pretty raised hut, overlooking the water. The owner prepared dinner and breakfast of very high quality, and even took me out on the lake for a peaceful morning trip before I checked out.

It was a quiet and beautiful place at the river. Breakfast and dinner was super and the staff was very kind! You can even paddle on the water with the outrigger, see all the animals (waran, colorful birds, glow worms, tucans, bats, etc.) and take a ride with the bycicle. It's easy to go for a tour to the National park and have a rest after visiting it. Lovely place. Totally recommended!

Excellent base for visiting Uduwalawe National Park. Very good communication with staff upon arrival and very good breakfast with view on the lake (where you can go with a Boat of the Resort and the owner is very willing to take you (we didn’t go because the water was low).
