Birthday trip
We stayed at Fiona’s property for a long weekend in January and had a great time . We were a party of 5 and the apartment was perfectly big enough, and the sofa bed in the lounge came in very handy when one of our party developed a terrible snore on the first night. 3 showers with endless hot water, hotel grade white bedding and lots of fluffy towels, robes and slippers made this more luxurious than your average apartment . It was also super quiet as at the end of a corridor with no passing foot traffic !
Ski out is perfectly simple and straight from the locker room. Ski in is a little more complex but you will know your route from the ski out. Take the button lift to the side of the main gondola and the next chair up,then follow the route back , making sure you ski through the next door hotel to bring you back to the locker room.
The on-site restaurant (L’Eterlou) is fantastic with great food at reasonable prices, especially when you choose the fixed price menu. We also ate at Chez Daniel and L’Ancolie, both of which we would recommend. L’Ancolie was a beautiful meal (hot stones), great cocktails and good house wine. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the apartments ... just call them to arrange.
We had mixed conditions weather wise but plenty of snow and at the end of the day that is all that matters ! Would highly recommend !

Great appartment
Appartment is very clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. It has plenty of room for 6 people if not more. The complex is excellent with a spar, car park, ski lockers, bar and restaurant. There is also a complimentary bus service to and from town, it’s about a 10 min walk You can ski in and out of the complex from the ski locker which is very handy.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend. If we came back to Flaine we would definitely stay here again.

Very well appointed apartment, lovely views , ski in ski out.
The apartment block is in an excellent position in Flaine. Fiona was helpful and the apartment had everything we needed. A run down to a ski lift starts right behind the apartment and it is easy to ski back. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and it is good.

Fantastic family size apartment in an amazing location overlooking the slopes
The views are amazing by day and night! The apartment is cosy warm and superbly set out and equipped for a large family. The kitchen area is small but perfectly formed. The bedrooms Immaculately clean, with lots of fresh white bedding, towels and robes.
The D’Eos reception staff are welcoming and helpful, the leisure facilities and ski lockers and ski in/out easy to use.
The fresh bakery orders in the mornings from Reception and the hot chocolate and marshmallows round the fire at the end of the ski day are recommended and most enjoyed.
We will definitely be booking to stay again at this apartment and resort. We loved it, thank you Fiona for letting us rent your wonderful apartment.

Luxury, modern and large apartment
A large apartment with everything you need! Very clean and tidy, modern and tasteful. The apartment is located around a 10/15 minute walk to the bottom of the slope but you can get the free shuttle bus. The bus stop is right outside the apartment.
I would definitely recommend the property & look forward to staying here myself again at some point. Host was accommodatting and communication was good.

Fantastic apartment, perfect location
Fiona was fantastic to deal with from start to finish. All enquiries dealt with promptly. Very reasonably priced apartment considering its size and location. Our group consisted of a few very inexperienced skiers who were still able to ski out every morning. The pool and jacuzzi in the complex were most welcome after a day of skiing. We didn't try the restaurant in the building due to time constraints, but were told by 4 separate people that it is a fantastic place to eat.
Flaine has the best skiing in the Grand Massif. The nightlife isn't as wild as some other resorts, but there are plenty of restaurants that vary in prices and a few bars.
Whilst the resort is car free, you can take a car through the barriers for a maximum of 90 minutes, which is perfect for picking up skis etc, and going shopping.

Superby Apartment, Location and nice owner
Thanks Fiona for sorting us out when we had problems with our dates due to my work, much appreciated and you are a star!
The apartment itself has 3 bedrooms (2 ensuite) and lots of room with nice views and a balcony. It has all the mod cons you could expect. The kitchenette area is quite small, but OK for our needs and we cooked 6 out of 7 nights for a family of 4 so no problems at all. The complex it is in has a beautiful open air heated swimming pool that looks out onto the mountains. inside their is a large jacuzzi and steam room. It really is spot on. Shame there isn't a proper bar in the place, but that should not put you off. They have adequate ski lockers on one of the floors and you can ski from here down to a short lift. Take this up and then the immediate run to your right takes you down to the ski school area. I know people have said it is quite complicated to find your way back to the hotel, but it isn't. Give yourself a bit of time on the first day and follow the map. Once you have done it once it is a doddle and saves taking your boots off in the Ski area and either catching the bus or walking (15-20 mins walk).
We hired our equipment from Skiset which is on the right hand side as you walk from the apartment down to the ski slopes. You can pick up your ski equipment the afternoon before you start your lessons if you wish.
For the family ski lessons (all different abilities) we used the French Ski School ESI. All the instructors apart from the one my missus had were really good.
Their is a Spa Supermarket, Butchers, Bakers and a Delicateson underneath the Skiset ski hire shop where you can buy all of your essentials. The good thing with the Spa is that you can actually buy online, although we didn't manage to succeed due to our poor French. However, go into the shop, fill up your trolley and they will deliver it all within a couple of hours free. This saves humping bags up the bank to the apartments. For fresh bread, nice cakes and croissants then either use the bakers mentioned above or ask the reception in the hotel and they will order bread and croissants for you which are available first thing in the morning.
The ski area is superb and seeing that it was March there were no queues anywhere and the conditions were superb. Hence the reason that we have just booked again with Fiona in her wonderful apartment for 2013. We will use the same ski hire and ESI for lessons. We look forward to returning to Flaine.

sejour

Half term Haven
Just spent a fab Feb half term in the Apartment in Flaine. Apartment was great, exactly as described, clean, well equipped, with great views across the valley. It accommodated 8 of us easily, the three bath/shower rooms were extremely useful when you’ve got 4 adults and 4 teenagers trying to get ready at once, though there was some “discussion” over who was going to sleep on the sofa bed.
The hotel itself was great too, swimming pool was an experience overlooking the mountains, the hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The free minibus in an evening was great and would take you anywhere you wanted. However, would recommend taking the car into Flaine itself if picking up ski equipment, as it was a bit of a trek back with all the gear, not what we wanted after a 12 hour crawl on the motorways (well it was half term I suppose!). The car park was useful, as we had some heavy snow while we were there, and had great fun watching people digging their cars out of the parking spaces opposite the hotel.
The ski lockers were essential, and the ski in and out was great, though we couldn’t always take advantage of that if we didn’t have a valid pass, as you have to ski down to the nearest ski lift, which takes you up to another run which will take you down to the centre. However, the free bus was a very practical way to get to and from the slopes, though they did tend to get very busy coming back at 5pm (it was half term after all). As beginners, we found the ski pass system very flexible. There are three lifts around the nursery and green runs which are free. They also have a points system for the less adventurous which don’t expire, and the smaller lifts were only a couple of points each. Or you could get full day, 2 day or week passes.
The local supermarkets were a tad expensive, but the Sherpa down in Flaine Forum was indeed better than the Spar. The restaurants were good, we only ate out a couple of times. Brasserie Cimes in the Forum was good, reasonable value, good atmosphere and good for families, L’Ancolie in Le Hameau was excellent, relaxed atmosphere, great food, but more expensive, good for a special occasion. The hotel will ring and book them for you.
All in all, for “debutante” skiers, we had an excellent time, in a great apartment and Fiona was very helpful and patient with all our questions. Would definitely recommend for beginners and intermediates, (not qualified to comment about anyone else!).

Outstanding Apartment and Helpful Owner!!
7 friends and I hired a minibus and drove the 12 hr journey to Flaine. The roads were fantastic (we spent aprox £500 return on petrol and tolls from the Midlands) ... and the apartment was a pleasure to get to after a long journey. We parked the van aprox 400 mtrs down the road as it was too high for the hotel car park but this was free over new year (4.50 Euros for 24hrs otherwise so very cheap).
The hotel comfortably fitted all 8 adults (with 2 on the sofa bed) It was extremely well equip. and had lovely view of the slopes. We found the hover very useless as we needed to do a mid-week clean and ironing board, iron, shoe rack, sharp knives, microwave etc were great well welcomed home comforts.
The ski out was great - we were all boarders and managed fine on the slopes - get yourselves a lift pass the night before (or weekly one) so that you can ski straight into resort via a small chair lift otherwise there is a short walk (aprox 400 mtrs) after the 1st ski out slope to get to the centre. Ski in was trickier as you needed to get the Grand Vans lift back which could be busy and a bit torn up by skiers!! Free busses only took 5 min’s and were very regular though.
We had some beginners in the group and there were 3 FREE lifts on the nursery slops (something ive not seen before) Flaine also operates a lift 'point' system where you can buy 20 points for 15 Euros - this is great as lifts range from 2 points -16 points and last all session so again perfect for beginners or for a quiet day. Full day lift passes were 36Euros for Flaine and 40 Euros for Grand Massive. (It is very easy to board over to the other resorts however some of the linking paths are VERY tight and hard for boarders)
We ate at Le White Bar on New Year - they do a happy hr 5-6 and 9-10pm where pints are 3.70Euro and long drinks 5.70Euro - wine at all times was 19 Euros a litre. Food was 12-15 euros for excellent burgers - steaks around 16-18Euros.
We also ate at La Perdrix Noire on the last night and it was just AMAZING 13 of us all agreed and had fab service. It was 38Euros for a 3 course set meal (choice of duck, venison, steak etc) -i had snails and suckling duck and it was out of this world!!
Serpa was alot cheaper than the SPAR supermarket and they did own brand products as well as recognised brands.
Overall i would highly recommend Flaine to beginners - intermediates and can not speak more highly of Fiona and her beautiful apartment which is great for groups, couples or families.

Christmas in Flaine
Despite being late arriving thanks to the snow in UK, we had a great Christmas in Flaine, due in no small part to the excellent accommodation. There were 5 of us and we found the apartment well equipped, clean, comfortable and in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hot tub, pool, sauna and steam room were a great way to finish the day's activities before heading out for food. Its an easy walk to the nearby restaurants, but you can take the bus if you're feeling lazy. The ski in / out works well and the choice of skiing suited us all perfectly - lots of great red runs and a goodly selection of slopeside hostelries. We stayed in Flaine a few years ago at le Hameau, but this was a much better location, highly recommended. We took some games (Boggle, cards etc.) it would be a nice touch to have a few in the apartment as an alternative to watching dvds. All in all though we had a lovely stay and found Fiona a pleasure to deal with. If you want a fun ski holiday with really easy transfers from the airport (1hr 15 from Geneva), Flaine is a good choice and this apartment makes the perfect retreat.

modern, contemporary and comfy
We stayed as group of 4 in this apartment. there was plenty of space and storage and the complex itself was very well thought out and convenient with a very helpful reception and underground parking. The ski in/ski out was ideal for all abilities and despite being located slightly out of the resort of Flaine itself, there was regular transport provided by the complex and public services if you didn't fancy the short walk.
The apartment itself was very well equipped and had fantastic views of the slopes. Great showers and the comfiest bed I've ever slept in! The heated outdoor pool was quite special and the jacuzzi was great for aching muscles but is very busy around 5pm when the slopes close. The ski room was secure and clean and spacious.
This apartment is very high quality compared to some ski accomodation and we felt spoilt rotten by the facilities at our disposal.

Best property in Flaine
4* Apartment lived up to my expectations, Comfortable beds and powerful showers, obviously new, all facilities excellent. Corner south facing with great views down to the main resort and to the mountains. Ski to door very useful. Locker room spacious and clean. Used the bakery service every morning to ensure delivery of fresh bread. Although you are a short walk above the resort this was not a disadvantage as the 2 Hotel Mini-buses run you down and pick you up from your restaurant or Bar at agreed times. if we return to Flaine we will definately use again.

Feb 2010
Fantastic apartment with delightfull dual aspect views (some of the best in the complex) down into Flaine. The aprtment was very clean and had all the home comforts one would need for an enjoyable holiday.
The owner is very helpful and reponsive and sends out a most useful fact sheet on getting there etc etc.
The complex is extremely well managed and the underground parking (with piped music!) was the icing on the cake.
Highly recommended, you won't regret it.

Flaine 2010
We stayed here for a week in early February 2010 and we could not have asked for more. This is a clean, modern and spacious apartment in a great location. It is Just over an hour from Geneva with very good taxi connections and garage parking for those who drive. The resort staff was very helpful and friendly and was able to organize our daily bread and pastries and the free Wi-Fi connection with ease. The receptionists all speak English for those who don’t have language skills.
The resort building is very modern and finished to a high standard. It has a well equipped laundry and drying facility along with a great gym, sauna and pool complex. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor pool which is very well heated and has stunning views and a good exposure to the sun. The building has ample locker space for storing equipment and is ideal for ski-in/ski-out.
The apartment has a superb view from all the bedrooms and the lounge has a particularly glorious aspect of the mountains. It is also close to a side door entrance which is convenient for quick trips into the town which is only a few minutes’ walk away. When loaded with skis or shopping there is a frequent and free bus that stops at the front door to the building. The bedrooms and bathrooms are presented to good hotel standard with plenty of soaps, towels and even robes and slippers. The kitchen has everything that one could wish for. I was particularly grateful for a pressure cooker which is important at this altitude.
Snow conditions were excellent and the number and variety of runs is very good for skiers of all levels. Flaine itself is in a bowl and this gives skiers a very easy appreciation of how the runs link together. With clear maps and signs it was a joy to navigate the pistes.
There are plenty of reasonably priced places to eat and drink. Don’t be deceived by the tranquility of the streets – there is plenty of night-life for those who seek it.
The owners Fiona and Jamie were kind and helpful and we would love to return next year. We have already recommended to friends and family.
Thanks for a great stay.

Fabulous holiday
We had a lovely family holiday in Flaine; directions from Geneva airport were excellent, and we found the garage and flat easily. The flat is spotless and furnished to a very high and comfortable standard with a bath or shower for each bedroom, which was a relief after a long day on the slopes! As it’s on a corner of the building the views are spectacular. The kitchen was well-equipped for the nights that we didn’t want to go out. The local supermarket had everything we needed, and there is a lovely bakery and deli in the same arcade. We took the advice of the owners to book our ski gear online ahead of time which meant we benefited from a discount and it was quick and easy to pick it up by car. The skiing was superb, tons of runs of varying degrees of difficulty, and although it was a busy holiday time for France too, there was hardly any waiting at the lifts. We loved the ski in/ski out factor; it really made life easy. We didn’t use the pool or facilities as we were too busy skiing or eating out in the very good restaurants (we recommend boeuf au pierre chaud – beef cooked on a hot stone - at Brasserie Les Cimes in Flaine Forum, the lower part), but wish that we had had the time! Overall, it was a fabulous place for skiing, a cozy place to stay, easy to get to and we will definitely be going back.
