Peaceful, spacious, fully equipped and just absolutely amazing. We were three generations from three separate households with ages ranging between 7 and 81 and the home was truly perfect for us.
We would have loved to ha e stayed longer! Fully equipped kitchen, loved the facilities, the host was extremely helpful and communicative hosts.
We all want to come back to stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay at The White House.
The house was very well equipped with high-end appliances. We particularly like the open plan kitchen dining and sitting area.
Could do with a mirror and stool in the double bedroom on the middle floor as nowhere to do make up and hair! If you are a light sleeper you might want to bring earplugs, there was very little sound proofing between floors but overall a great stay and would highly recommend The White House.

Our stay in Coniston was absolutely perfect. The house itself is amazing! It is situated perfectly for many outdoor activities.
The house: there were 8 of us altogether and the house accommodated us easily. There were break out areas for when people wanted a little "me" time. The kitchen/facilities absolutely perfect. The house is so spacious we fitted in so easily. The children loved the games room.
One other important point ... the details said car parking for 3 cars - the drive way easily catered for 3 cars with plenty of space between each car and space around each car to be able to open door easily and access the car interior and boot.
Obviously the owners have done lots of work on the house and it would have been great to see a few photos of before and on the way to what it is today.
Outside activities: we were looking for outside activities and we found so much to do within a close radius of the house. Including climbing Old Man Coniston with amazing views from the top.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area .

We had a wonderful time in this lovely house. Perfect for our party of 10 adults. Everything you need is provided and more! I can't think of anything that could be done to improve this wonderful accommodation. Fantastic fully equipped kitchen. Lovely large dining table comfortably sit all. Comfy lounge and good though smallish decked area out back with a good gas BBQ. Outside furniture also on balcony at rear of property. More rooms downstairs which we didn't really get round to using. Would love to return another day as Coniston is a perfect place to base yourself in the Lakes, with plenty of shops and pubs and easy walking distance to Coniston Lake.

Great location, within walking distance of the town and great pubs. Easy access to lots of walks and hikes.
House had all the amenities we needed and more. Weather for our stay was fab so we enjoyed the back balcony - over looked the tranquil graveyard.

Barry and Helen are great hosts and have created a superb holiday getaway.
Spacious and well equipped house in quiet cul de sac very close to village centre and easy access to lake and walks. Lots of outside space and the house is full of light.
All facilities and equipment very high quality

Pros. Lovely spacious property in a quiet location. Well equipped and presented. A gem.
Cons. With all hard floors noise travels, and a top floor bedroom does not have the option of curtain/blinds.

This is a fantastic property. Beautifully decorated with the most wonderful views. Perfectly located with less than a 5 minute walk to the main centre and eateries. Highly recommend.

Great modern property with lots of space and good for large groups. The location was nice and quiet with some nice pubs/restaurants within walking distance. A bit difficult to get taxis to and from Windermere but we managed eventually. Would definitely return to this property

We stayed here as a family of 11 to celebrate Mam's/Grandma's 82nd birthday. What an amazing place!
Helen and Barry have really thought of everything. Decor, appliances and equipment, etc all of great quality. It's a very sociable house with there being the large sitting room area kitchen and dining area. We all made great use of the games room and downstairs sitting room in the evenings too.
It's also in a great location, being in the centre of Coniston but in a quiet area at the end of a cul-de-sac, so no traffic noise.
3 great pubs too - we just had to try the award winning beers! I really couldn't recommend it enough - we couldn't have asked for better! Thank you!

High recommend this house, it is stunning. The pics dont do it justice.
Extremely well equipped, with lots of lovely extra touches (washing tablets, wine, Prosecco, sponges, dish washer tablets).
We accidently broke a few glasses during our stay and the owners were very understanding.
if I’m being very picky the fault I can find is, I would of liked a mirror near a plug socket in the bedroom.

Well equipped house catering for up 12 people of all ages. Very helpful information regarding the property and its facilities were issued in advance. The property was well suited to eating in house with high quality kitchen appliances, china and cutlery.
The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms immaculate and well equipped.
A games room was very helpful when bad weather was curtailing out door activities.

The property is modern, clean and comfortable with all of the facilities you would expect. it was very spacious for the six of us. We stayed in November, but I'm sure that in summer you could make excellent use of the outdoor space and barbecue. It is within easy reach of the pubs and shops of Coniston, and there are easy and more challenging walking from the property.
One point to note, the top floor main bedroom has no curtains (?) and astroturf flooring,

House was beautiful, perfect for our family group. The games room was a huge hit with adults and children alike. Very well equipped kitchen and particularly impressed by stocks of washing powder, dishwasher tablets, basic cooking supplies etc.
Garden was small but not a problem in October, surprised to be part of a housing estate as photo of house is cleverly angled.

The White House was exactly as described, it’s a beautiful house & extremely well equipped, the house is just just a short walk from the village & within easy walking distance of the Lake. We would not hesitate to book the White House again for our next celebration.

The house is very large (swallowed ten of us comfortably), very well equipped and very comfortable. It is right in the centre of Coniston so everything was only a short walk away.which is very convenient, particularly with young kids in our group. It fully lived up to our expectations.

Great location, great stay although a few niggles!
Perfect location and house is huge so perfect for many different family members. Welcome drinks in the fridge was a lovely touch and communication with the owner was excellent. Huge collection of kitchen utensils and appliances so 6 stars for that!
Only gripes were;
-Wii console didn't work (missing parts)
-Air Hockey doesn't work
-Outside decking area still had Doritos left from previous attendees so not cleaned properly
-Astro turf room had no curtains so couldn't be slept in so felt this was a waste of payment (room was great so a real shame!)
-Kitchen could do with a sound system for the size of room or an Alexa
If the above were corrected would be 4.9 out of 5....

Excellent Property and Location
I couldn't be happier with the White House. The standard of everything may have been even better than described and the location was perfect. Absolutely a recommendation, particularly for bigger groups.

Wonderful experience
Everything about this experience was excellent. The house was just as described, and beautifully decorated for our Christmas stay. The three generations of our family were all comfortable and had room to spread out and do their own thing, as well as many opportunities to spend time together around the large dining table, chatting or prepping together in the fabulous kitchen, or watching the TV. Communications were outstanding at every point. Sophie offered help at multiple points, shared lots of information about the house, local shops and restaurants, and was readily available to answer all questions. The facilities at the house are amazing and everything you need to enjoy them is provided. The White House in Coniston earned every one of these stars. A terrific experience all around!

An excellent property and location for a weekend family get together
Very good communication from the owners with lots of instructions. We appreciated the high standard of the property not just cleanliness but also facilities. We’ve never stopped in a property where there were such ample supplies of crockery which meant not having to keep washing up. An issue with the shower leaking in the top floor rear bedroom en-suite but Barry rang me over the weekend and was very apologetic. We loved the location, great to be able to walk to the pub and access to great walks from the house. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you.

Our holiday at The White House, Coniston
We had the most fabulous family holiday staying at The White House. The house itself was stunning. It also had the best views of The Old Man of Coniston. It had everything you could possibly wish for to make your holiday feel like an absolute treat.

Beautiful house
We had an enjoyable stay here. The house is spacious to give all ages the room they needed. Little modern touches made it more special. The games room was loved by the children and the balconies provided quiet time for grown ups. The green grass room was a hit fir our teenager as he felt so grown up with his space. House was easily accessible for the village and a short walk to the lake. Lovely break had by everyone

Great stay in the lakes.
Fantastic property in a brilliant location. Easily walkable into town, great internal space with good facilities. The only drawback is that sound travels through the house so if some people stay up and others want to sleep it can be a bit awkward. Other than that, a really brilliant property.

Hen party get away
The house was amazing and very well equipped. The location was perfect with Coniston town literally on the door step. Barry and Helen are very helpful people and great for staying in contact. We were even allowed to arrive early due to availability which we appreciated getting the party started. The whole house was really comfortable and very well thought out, it was homely and more then big enough for 13 people. I would whole heartily recommend the house and should I need large accommodation again I will be booking this brilliant house.

Fantastic property
This is a superb property in a nice Lake District village with all facilities on the door stop. We where meet at the property shown around and explained how things worked and where everything was, first class service.
The house itself is beautiful and has a real wow factor lovely views from all areas but especially sitting in the living room with the log fire on under the snow capped mountains.
The bedding and sheets where beautiful and so comfy as where all the furnishings and the property spotless.
