Good location and convenient to multiple hoghways. A slight lack of directions for checking in. We luckily knocked on the right door after dark.

Lovely place to stay in Siena. The apartment was immaculate, with a beautiful aesthetic. The kitchen was stocked with all the kitchen supplies of cookware, serving utensils and silverware that you would ever need. The gardens and views were spectacular. The owner, Simona was accessible when needed, along with a wonderful property manager who helped us with the appliance directions and original check-in. It took less about 5 minutes from the apartment to the town of Siena that we frequented most days and many evenings for dinner. I highly recommend.

Our party of 5 stayed here recently (ages 14-75) and thoroughly enjoyed the peace this location brought to us.
The apartment is quirky, charming and well kept. We loved that we were close to so many places we wanted to visit but far enough away from the crowds.
I would have given this place 5 stars except for a couple of little things - the apartment itself is on the upper floor. I was under the impression the entrance was on the ground floor. Nowhere in the listing does it state the apartment is on an upper floor. Had I known this, I would have looked for a different place. My mother in law does not do so well on stairs, so she was unable to enjoy the gardens.
Also to note, one of the rooms has a ceiling so low that if you are taller than 5’3”, you probably wouldn’t be comfortable going in and out of. Definitely not for someone tall. It worked perfectly for our teenagers, though!

The property was fantastic and we were well taken care of by the host. I would highly recommend this property. Very convenient to all areas of Tuscany, perfect as a home base. Very clean and comfortable.

Our family of 5 lives in 3 different countries and chose Siena as a meeting place after travel was permitted due to COVID.
Villa Caprera was ideal for providing wonderful upscale accommodation, mixing the modern with the old. Our apartment was clean and provided luxury in bed linens, beds, pillows, cooking and tableware.
The views are absolutely incredible. We were in awe each morning and evening.
Our host went out of her way to make sure that we had everything required and beyond.
Thank you Daniela and Simona.

A Most Enjoyable Stay at Villa Caprera!
My husband and I celebrated "milestone" birthdays this month, and decided to spend two weeks in Italy with my sister-in-law and her husband to celebrate. We spent our first week on the Amalfi Coast in Positano, and a second week in Tuscany. Having been to Siena briefly ten years ago on a cruise, we decided that it would be a good choice for our "home base" while in Tuscany. It was absolutely perfect in every way! Our host Simona provided us with a "House Book" prior to our arrival which answered any questions we would have while there, which was invaluable. We were a 15 minute cab ride to the center of Siena, which we could see from bedroom windows or from our private sitting area in the garden, where we enjoyed cocktails after a day of exploring. Renting a car in Tuscany is a good idea, and there is plenty of room to park at the Villa. We picked up our car in Siena and enjoyed day trips to San Gimignano, Montalcino and Montapulciano which were easy drives from the villa.
While the kitchen was modern and very well equipped, we only prepared breakfast there, and had lunches and dinners out. There is a lovely restaurant within walking distance of the villa (La Curvetta) where we had dinner several evenings, and we also ventured into Siena for dinner as well. I can't say enough about the accommodations at Villa Caprera. Staying there was definitely a highlight of our wonderful holiday! We would highly recommend it.

Very Pleasant Experience in Sienna
Five of us were very comfortable and well treated during our week-long stay. Simona's mother brought us tarts and a basket of fresh vegetables from the garden, and generally looked after us well. The tower really comes into its own on Summer evenings. We sat outside and watched the sun's light fade and the moon rise over the buildings of Sienna. Quite a magical place, particularly when paired with a Brunello.
While not in Sienna proper, it is possible (although not entirely pleasant) to walk to town if necessary, but a bus also services the walled city and the drive to one of many parking lots is quick enough. As noted by others, it's quite easy to launch day trips all over the region.
A note on the house: one bedroom has very low ceilings. It was perfect for our seven year old, but might not be appropriate/comfortable for all sizes. On the other hand, the tower room ceiling soars above four walls of windows. For those travelling in groups but craving privacy, note that the tower bedroom door does not truly close without much fiddling and assistance, due to the stairs below it. Not a problem for us, but worth noting as the room is directly above the dining room.
Well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms, great linens, comfortable beds. We look forward to returning.

Country living in the middle of Tuscany
We 5 all thoroughly enjoyed this charming top half of the house, overlooking Siena from what felt like a country estate. Lovely farmhouse feel with elegant furnishings and outside seating and exploring space made formed an excellent base from which to explore the marvelous tuscan hilltowns, Siena, florence, even Pisa and Cinqueterre. or you could just sit at home and relax, with the church bell the only thing to break the silence. Had some wonderful family meals in the dining room with well fitted kitchen and vegetables from the garden supplied by mother of the house. Great grocery shopping close by and of course a good choice of good Italian restaurants close by. Having a car is a great advantage. The VRBO coordinates were off but the coordinates 43°18'09.4N 11°18'50.8E are spot on. Simona was very responsive to all our requests for assistance. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Amazing Villa with amazing views
We stayed at Villa Caprera for a week and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this amazing Villa. We were greeted by our host - she was so friendly and her pride in the home showed as she walked us around the Villa, opening windows and showing us the amenities. She provided a lovely homemade dessert, a bottle of wine, coffee and other items to welcome us. The home was beautiful and so well maintained. Our every need was met and we were comfortable and felt right at home our entire stay. We loved how cozy the home felt and thought the paintings on the ceilings and the antique furnishings were so charming. The beds were very comfortable. Our daughter stayed in the roof top bedroom and slept every night with all the windows open. We woke to the sound of roosters and birds and fresh breezes blowing in through the windows. In late afternoon, we sat on the back patio and enjoyed wine and amazing views of Siena in the near distance. Because Siena was so close, we could get to town so easily, which was so convenient for shopping and dinner and wonderful walks about town.
We would go back in a heartbeat! Villa Caprera felt like home away from home!

Beauty and comfort in gorgeous surroundings
We stayed for a week in the Noble apartment in October. The apartment is just beautiful with comfortable beds, lovely modern bathrooms and everything you could want in a kitchen (also everything was spotless). The house is from the ninetheenth century but has been very tastefully modernized. The top bedroom is spectacular with Windows on all sides and the most marvellous views. I don't think the photos really can do it justice. The living room had a big comfy sofa with a good size tv. Someone said in a previous review the WiFi was weak but we had zero problems with it.
The owners were kindness itself with a fresh baked pie waiting for us along with essential supplies such as milk etc. and a bottle of sparkling wine.. They were also incredibly helpful when my husband developed a medical problem and had to see a doctor (taking us there and translating for us, so kind) The house is in a peaceful scenic area with great views of Siena which is a short drive away. It is also a great spot for exploring the surrounding countryside. We had a car but it is possible to without one if so inclined. There is a deli within walking distance and a bus stop where you can catch a bus to go into Siena. If you decide to rent a car, get a small one. Some of the roads off the main arteries are very narrow and winding. Siena itself was very pretty with some excellent restaurants. We had such a great time. We would go back to stay in the villa a heartbeat.

Charming Villa with Fabulous views
We stayed at Villa Caprera for 2 weeks and loved coming home after a day of touring to relax in style. We were greeted upon arrival by the family who were gracious and welcoming-complete with treats including a bottle of wine and a cake! We were given a tour of the home and shown how to operate the appliances. The villa is updated in the kitchen and bathrooms and furnished with lovely antiques. The DVD player could be improved upon but the TV was great. The photos are very accurate and show the true beauty of the villa. In the middle of our 2 week stay the villa was cleaned and linens changed. The towels and linens are high quality and plentiful.
There is a village deli for quick items and a local grocery within a 5 minute drive.
I recommend a GPS to travel in the area and it located the village Costafabbri easily.
I highly recommend this property.

Picture Perfect Location and views to die for
This villa is the perfect spot to stay if you are in Tuscany and want a central location for exploring the nearby hill towns. It is only 3 km from downtown Siena. You really can see Siena out of the bedroom window! The unit is in the upstairs part of the villa, which is situated at the end of a very small road with several absolutely charming villas surrounding a central courtyard. Truly a perfect setting with stunning views, olive groves, a monastery up the hill, ringing bells and roosters crowing in the morning. I felt like I was in a movie set. The villa has been updated beautifully. The kitchen has anything you could imagine if you want to cook in. The bathrooms were state of the art and spotless. Even the bed linens were of the finest quality. We were met with fresh flowers, a bottle of local wine, coffee and staples to get us started. Wonderful hospitality! There is a great little restaurant within walking distance-good food and good value. There is also a small grocery store for basics. You can catch a bus into Siena at the end of the small road, although we had a car so never used the bus. Very quick access to the autostrada and touring small towns nearby was a breeze. Renting with Simona was very easy via email and she always responded to emails promptly. She even gave us some advice on renting a car.
Three minor issues...
1. The "air conditioning" is lame at best. We specifically looked for places to stay with a/c since we visited in the heat of August (100 F every day). Technically, there is A/C-There are two small wall units in two of the bedrooms (not the master) and they did absolutely nothing to cool the place down. Not even sure they were working properly. At night we would open all the shutters and windows and it would cool down but there were a couple of very warm and uncomfortable nights. There are no screens which didn't really matter since there weren't any bugs!
2. The wifi is very weak. Not a big deal to us since we weren't there to go online but it was slow.
3. Ask for directions from downtown Siena. We had a GPS but the small village of Costafabbri where the villa is located was not found by our unit. We spend a good 35 minutes driving around in circles trying to find it.
Overall, this rental far exceeded expectations. I would definitely stay here again-not in August though! It looks exactly like the pictures and we loved it!

A beautiful serene place above Siena
The apartment itself--we were in the 3-bedroom--is impeccably designed, clean, white, with beautiful furniture. The upstairs bedroom--the corn room--is spectacular. The sitting room with TV and couches is the coziest room, and we spent our time there or in the kitchen.
Everything works and the kitchen is fun to cook in. We ended up eating and cooking in the kitchen, or walking down the hill a bit to a good plain restaurant. Also within walking distance is a delicatessan so you don't have to fear running out of wine, cheese, olives, milk, bread, or many other delicious foods.
There are two bathrooms, one deluxe and the other smaller and more spartan. The children's bedroom has three single beds and is cozy and old-fashioned in a sweet way.
There were four in our party—my husband and I, and another couple. We were spending three weeks in Italy and were determined not to rent a car and to use public transportation. Villa Caprera is in a small group of buildings surrounding an antique well. The buildings are lovely and in perfect trim, a small community set on a high hill. Below, a Tuscan landscape and a wild highway down to Siena. We took the nearby bus to the city and from there took the bus to Florence. When we left, we took a bus from the main train station to our next stop--Montepulciano. Our stay was very slightly restricted by the bus schedule but you can always get a reasonably priced cab ride back up to Costafabbri if you stay in the city past the last bus.
Simona's father very kindly took us our first day to a big grocery store where we did a major shop. Other than that we relied on the little store or the excellent Wednesday market in Siena where vendors from all over Tuscany come to sell food, leather goods, and everything else.
The property is clean, well-maintained, and just as described. This wouldn't be a good place to be with toddlers--some delicate furnishings plus an open stone staircase--but with older children it would be fine. The garden is lovely with lots of rosemary, lavender, and flowers, and while it wasn't the weather for outdoor grilling, we could see that this could be done easily.
The Bencini family is very kind, gracious, and helpful.
For those who want to be instantly on the bustling streets of Siena, not the right place. An excellent place for those who like a quiet retreat after busy days. And you could hardly ask for a more beautiful view.

A wonderful stay - Villa Caprera
We stayed a week at Villa Caprera during the first week of October. Everything was perfect for our visit. We gave an indication of our anticipated arrival time and were met immediately at the house by the owners. They helped us to our apartment, gave a quick and easy tour of the ammenities, showed us the rooms and left us to relax. Villa Caprera was very easy to locate from the autostrada and is in an excellent location with relationship to visiting Siena. The area is very quiet, seeming rural yet we had easy access to whatever we needed. Siena was very close, easily reached and we spent many hours visiting the town.
The apartment was very clean and spacious; the HomeAway description and photos were true to their word. The apartment was well stocked with kitchen and cooking utensils, the bedrooms were pleasant (and very relaxing for sleeping). The garden area also had a table with chairs and garden chairs. We did spend some time being warm and lazy in the garden enjoying the view of Siena across the small ravine.
This is an excellent place to stay for a small family or two couples. There is plenty of room for enjoying each other or for some quiet time alone. The two full bathrooms are in excellent condition (the master bathroom is very nice....), with newer fixtures that are well maintained. These were definite pluses.
We did use the available WiFi; it was reliable and the speed was acceptable for our needs which did include a couple of video calls. Another plus for us.
We enjoyed our time immensely here; we will definitely stay here again when we visit the Siena area again. With Siena nearby, the Chianti region (amazing) very easily accessed, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Marrema and Montalcino all to be visited; there is no reason not to visit the region and to stay at the Villa Caprera. A perfect spot to stay and take in all the enjoyment so close by.

Superlativa
Grazie Simona :D

Beautiful apartment in a super setting.
This is a truly spacious self contained apartment, tastefully appointed with great period character and many contemporary fittings. The corn room is sensational offering splendid views from most aspects especially those overlooking the the historic town of Siena. The garden is a pleasant place to enjoy a sun-drenched breakfast or to relax in the evening with a local bottle of wine.
Our hosts were on hand, if needed, to provide local information, however they quickly became our favoured choice of company during the evenings as we shared their hospitality and stories.
This is a great central location for exploring other areas of Tuscany all within a short, pleasant drive.
As a family of four we would love to return to Villa Caprera and we look forward to meeting our hosts again.
