The home was a perfect fit for my family and the separate kitchens was great for the thanksgiving holiday for preparing food. We loved the deck and the view. Also enjoyed the fireplace inside. It was spacious and had plenty of bathrooms. Also enjoyed the short drive to Highland NC and the mountain coaster.

The house is exactly as advertised if you read the reviews. There were a couple of items that needed to be fixed but nothing dangerous (a broken post on the porch on the driveway side and the vent in the kitchen). The bedroom doors closed but were easily opened -sometimes just by opening an outside door, but overall we enjoyed our stay. The outside porch with the fire pit was a huge hit and the view was terrific. We enjoyed not having to share just 1 or 2 bathrooms. There is not a inside area large enough for everyone to really gather but we made due and may be back next year!

Quite an adventure
We planned a trip to Sky Valley for MLK weekend- 4 adults and 6 kids total. The house has plenty of bedroom space. The house has two fully equipped kitchens. It is a great house and awesome location. I reached out to Luke right away to let him know about 2 super minor issues that we wanted him to be aware of. He was great and so helpful. We went to Scaly Mountain and The Dillard House on Saturday. We had a blast snow tubing and ice skating and it was lovely. Then we got snowed in! The driveway is lower than the road and we were trapped. Luke was so nice, I called him because my daughter had an allergic reaction and needed benadryl. He called around to the neighbors to help us. Later, he told us not to worry about extending our stay because we were stuck! The tow trucks couldn't get to us but a wonderful senior adult gentleman helped us dig our vehicles out of the ice and snow on Tuesday so we could finally go home. We almost ran out of food, but the power never went off! The trip was memorable for sure. Thanks Luke for answering my crazy calls and being so helpful. It was a great house for sure- lots of room!

Cabin on the rock
We arrived on July 7th at approximately 3:45pm, we found the cabin unlocked and cabin dirty, beds linens all balled up on beds, and dirty towels on bathroom floors. Cleaning people had not shown up. We called Luke from Evolve and he had a cleaning person there immediately. We did not get into our rental property until after 7pm. The cabin was nice, owner has way too much stuff, jammed into upstairs kitchen cabinets, we had no place to store our stuff. We had a lot of family members in other cabins at Sky Valley and a map of the area would have helped, we had a great time visiting with each other. Great mini vacation.

Beautiful Views But Needs Some TLC
We enjoyed our stay at Cabin On The Rock; it’s nicely situated for hikes to waterfalls, and visits to Cashiers and Highlands. Twelve of us stayed here - 6 adults and six children. At meal times it was a little tight, especially if it was raining. The view off the deck to the woods is tranquil and beautiful.
The cabin is aptly described as rustic. There are several primarily maintenance/repair issues that need to be addressed. Luke was quick to respond to texts and emails when we advised him of an issue, but some things are still pending and we leave in the morning.

The view is gorgeous! It was a great place. It was very easy to talk to manager.
My family had a great time. It was not hard to get in touch with the manager . The neighborhood was very friendly and nice.

We did enjoy our stay.
I booked this house because it looked like the drive way was flat. It is not. We had a hard time with our vehicles because of the leaves. The place was not as cleaned or well maintained as I would have liked. We love Sky valley and we always have a good time there.

Quite Family Getaway
We were only 4 people but this place is so much bigger than that. Still, with only 4 you have plenty of space. Upstairs kitchen was useful, the grill outside worked great, and we enjoyed the fire pit! Super comfy master bed.

Needs updating
We had a group of 14 people staying here and our biggest problem was water pressure in the entire cabin. Intermittenly we would lose water pressure while using the kitchen sink, taking a bath and even had to wait a toilet tank to fill up. Imagine pressure down to a drip while showering. We literally had to schedule our showers one at a time with 14 people. The owner sent out some maintenance person that experience the exact problem but had no solution. The owner text me this was a problem with the City of Sky Valley and he was unable to do anything. Personally I don't think this is true and I don't think it just started the week we were staying in this cabin. I would recommend Mark the owner states in his description of the cabin that people staying there might experience some water pressure problem during there stay.

Thanksgiving Week at Cabin on the Rock
I was a little nervous about cooking Thanksgiving dinner in an unfamiliar location but given the two stocked kitchens we found everything we needed to pull it off. The cabin is great for large families with children. We put all the kids downstairs and let them play to their hearts content while the adults relaxed and chatted upstairs. Lots to do in the area too. We did Highlands Aerial Park, Andy's Trout Farm, Black Rock park and Tallulah Gorge plus shopping in Highlands.

Quiet reflections
If you are looking for a place to leave your daily trials behind, this is the home for you. Very well apportioned and just the right level of quaint comfort. Between the two kitchens, this home would be great for a larger group. As a former General Manager of Sur La Table, I would love to see the addition of an 11 inch ScanPan Pro skillet for easy cooking. It is indestructible in the kitchen and I sold many to folks with rental properties who were fearful of having a nonstick skillet in the house. Thanks so much for a great weekend. We had a great reunion of friends this weekend. Andrew Klutz

Beautiful property!
The views from the cabin are breathtaking! The firepit was used every night! We had the maximum occupancy of 14 people and there was ample room for all! Will be staying at this cabin again. The central location was perfect, minutes from everything, but still secluded in the mountains! Perfect!

Beautiful & Quiet
Slept better than we have in years. Beautiful and quiet with just the sounds of nature, and beautiful views of the mountains and trees. Very nice town and people.
The house is great - very well equipped and comfortable amidst it's unique architecture and amazing overlook decks.
Sky Valley itself has a beautiful waterfall and the area has so much to offer - including a beautiful golf course, hiking trails, and waterfalls and lakes as you tour the mountain roads. And the Dillard House for great food and horseback riding.
We also went ziplining - only 10 minutes away - and on up to the Smoky Mountain Railroad Train Ride and Biltmore Estate - each a day trip. And back into the beautiful mountains around Highland City (try Lakeside Restaurant) and Scaly Mountain.
It's a very comfortable, inviting home and we were sad when we had to leave. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back soon!
Even saw the beautiful "Harvest Moon" from our deck!

Quiet and Relaxing!
I'd give more stars if they would let me! Incredible view, spacious lodging, super comfortable overall. We had 3 families with a total of 14 people. Plenty of space. Great bonus was plenty of parking spaces for multiple vehicles. Top notch Golf Course. Zip lines were great!
