relaxing get away and comprehensive game drives. No internet in rooms makes working impossable

Loved the view from the room of the waterhole, the game drives, the huge variety and density of game and overall very go

The rooms all overlooking the water hole so you can see the animals 24/7 Madikwe has a huge number and variety of animals 2 swimming pools is lovely although they are “dipping” pools not for proper swimming

Shame the new infinity pool is not long enough for a proper swim Just 4 m longer and it would be perfect Also they have one umbrella so not possible for more than one bralet to be screened from the sun

The food, the drives and the view from the cottage were fantastic.

The WLAN worked only in the center, not in the cottage, but with the perfect view to the lake it does not matter.

Beautiful Lodge on the edge of dam!

Friendly and very helpful efficient staff. Food was excellent and as always too much! Our game ranger and guide Thuso was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Thank you very much. Great value for your money! Will be back!

A wonderful place in the Bush

Die Tau Lodge liegt wunderschön direkt an einem riesigen Wasserloch. Das Essen und auch der ganze Service liess keine Wünsche übrig. Die Game Drives waren Spitze. Die Chalets verfügten über alles, was wir benötigten und wir würden die Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen.

Tau’s Private Member Suites at Matla Lodge

The lodge was closed for renovations, so we were accommodated at their Private Member Suites (Matla Lodge) in a lovely large chalet. Only 5 chalets at the lodge, so it had a very exclusive feel. Great outdoor area with pool and where we had a braai dinner overlooking the waterhole ( two leopards came to visit! ). The main building was beautifully furnished. Staff were lovely, and we had an amazing guide, James, so knowledgeable and good fun….did the very best sunset/morning drinks that we had during our 3 weeks touring in SA!!! Madikwe is a brilliant reserve for wildlife, fantastic game viewing, it will not disappoint.

Some of the meat served at dinner/lunch was really not good. The chef explained that they were trying a new supplier, I hope that has been addressed as it was disappointing.

The family unit is so perfect! It is two bedrooms/bathrooms connected by a lounge (living room) and allowed our 10 and 13 year old boys to go to sleep while we stayed up later. The outdoor patio was also an added bonus and allowed us some fun time during the day between game drives.

Lifetime memories on a beautiful stat.

Fantastic location in the reserve. Great food and excellent service by the team there. The restaurant headed by Ex Chef Rea was a treat listening and catering to our every whim despite us being a large group. To top the service was the hospitality with the complimentary cakes, wines for our birthday and anniv in our group. Not to mention the beautiful dance by team to bring in the birthday. The game safari guide James was super … thanks for making our trip so memorable. Wish we had stayed more than a day !

perfect place for game drives, so many animals and the food was divine

this was the lodge where we have been able to see 4 out of the big 5. the game drives were adventurous and breath taking and we couldn’t have asked for a better game drive. the rooms were beautiful with an amazing view on a big waterhole which gave the opportunity to see lots of animals while having lunch or just having a chill on your own balcony.

there was nothing we were unhappy about

A must see and do. a sure place to return too.

This place went beyond any resonable expectations. Food was amazing, staff were unbeatable, accomodations were beautiful, Silus, the guide had amazing tracking skills and showed us the big 5 in 2 days!

Truly wonderful experience. The staff are super friendly and professional. The food is amazing. The safari lodges are very comfortable and have amazing views of the local wildlife. The safari guides are very experienced, friendly and knowledgeable.

Phenomenal game drives for the big 5 and outstanding service

staying in Gaborone for work, the proximity to Madikwe was great. excellent staff, food, and Rangers for your game drives. Accommodations were outstanding, views were excellent!

Fantastic location, facilities and staff exceeded expectations. An experience we recommend.

Fantastic games, we saw and observed many of the animals of the park, Rangers with much experience and always attentive and create a family and friendship atmosphere. Exceeded expectations.

Excellent stay at Tau.

Our second visit to Tau and third to Madikwe was a delightful as previous visits. Lazarus, our Ranger, provided excellent game viewing and consideration. Service, food and comfort all to be applauded.
