About this cottage rental

Puffin Place is a great little holiday hideaway within the historic conservation area of Seahouses. Its location is right in the heart of the former fish smokeries and traditional fishing cottages. Puffin Place has been tastefully converted and modernised from being part of the adjacent smokery into a comfortable and well equipped holiday home.

The cottage is in a peaceful location but just a minute's walk from the busy harbour and the Northumberland Coastal Path passes the end of the road just 70 yards away. This holiday home from home has a warm and inviting feel, is equipped to a high standard and is perfectly suited for either couples or small families. The cottage comes with an allocated parking space in the courtyard to the rear of the property.

The cottage is located within a 2 minute walk of the village amenities where there's a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. Guests can take daily boat trips available to the Farne Islands, the home of seals and seabirds and explore the surrounding area filled with wildlife. There are beautiful sandy beaches to the north and south with lots of places of interest just a short journey away. Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are a short drive up the coast and the historic market town of Alnwick along with castle and gardens is 20 minutes inland.

2023 Cleaning Update

Following the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) and the ensuing variants, we are taking additional cleaning and disinfection measures for all guests at Puffin Place, to help ensure safe enjoyment of the cottage.

Further to the usual high standard of cleaning prior to visits, we have introduced a comprehensive cleaning checklist, being personally overseen by the owners, Amanda and Jonathan.

The enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of Puffin Place between stays prioritises:

- cleaning / disinfecting of all surfaces, furniture, door handles, controls and switches, guest information, cutlery, crockery and utensils, linen, key safe, etc;

- provision of cleaning and disinfecting products within the cottage inventory;

- the encouraging of good hand hygiene for guests through provision of hand sanitiser and antibacterial soap products both downstairs and upstairs;

- social distancing during check-in and check-out by providing access to keys through a key safe.

Great cottage
Great cottage
Great little cottage in perfect location. 5 minute stroll to the harbour and town. Downstairs in the cottage is a little bit small but myself and two teenagers had plenty of room and everything we needed. Bedrooms are a lovely size. Everything nice and clean. Nice, charming decor. Would recommend a stay here

Puffin Place
We enjoyed our stay at Puffin Place, it's very well presented, everything is to a high standard and very clean. The bedrooms are comfortable, we slept very well, and the downstairs although compact worked very well for the two of us. It's very well located, just a short walk to the facilities of the town and the harbour. The hosts communicate well and their attention to detail was exemplary.
