Loved the Sunrise Suite! The grounds were beautiful. We really enjoyed walking around the property and exploring. The deck was nice. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the deck, watching the swan on the pond, and star gazing at night. The pool was clean and nice after an afternoon of wineries. The location was very close to all the wineries, distilleries, and small towns.

Great accommodation with everything we needed for the weekend and more. Property was really nice to walk and say hey to all of the animals. Very friendly hosts including Dakota the farm dog! Will definitely be back.

We wanted a quick weekend getaway and this was the perfect location. The location on a beautiful farm made it even more special . The Sunrise Suite had everything we needed for the weekend. We will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed the quiet environment. Hosts were friendly and seemed to want to please. I have been on farms when I was young, so this was an environment that brought back some memories.
Very clean. We were warned that the WiFi might be spotty, but for all practical purposes, it was non existant. But that was OK since we just wanted to get away.

Gorgeous place to stay and spend time when not looking around at Hermann. Comfortable and clean accommodations, wonderful pool with perfect water temperature, very kind host/hostess, fascinating seeing the sheep/swan/ducks/chickens.

This is "HOME"
This is the laid back, restful retreat that you need. Picturesque. Peaceful. Restorative. With a dog....sort of a therapy dog. Dakota. His very presence alone gives calm,
You must see this place and experience a pristeen environment inside and outside.
Richard is respectful and caring giving the gift of a therapeutic environment.

What a gem!!
We feel so incredibly fortunate that we found this sweet spot when going to Berger for a cousin's wedding! It is exceptional in all ways! Beautiful, peaceful setting. Very comfortable lodging. The most gracious host (and the dog an extra bonus!) Other bonuses of fresh eggs and honey! Reasonably priced. Easy to get to everywhere we wanted. We will definitely be back if returning to the area. If it's available, book it! Don't delay! You won't regret it! Thanks for a fantastic mini-vacation.

Lovely Stay on the Farm
This property is beautiful! We went to enjoy Hermann, Mo Octoberfest, and very much enjoyed the views, lake with swan, sheep sounds, and other aspects of this working farm. Views from the large deck, and fire pit in the evening were a welcome retreat!

Berger Guesthouse
Beautiful little farm setting outside Hermann. The family treated us like family. They were so sweet and caring. They gave us fresh eggs from their chickens and honey from their hives. The Berger Guesthouse was clean and even smelled clean and wonderful. Their was a patio that overlooked the pond. We sat there every night when we got back. We loved their dog, Dakota, and hung out with him every night. It was just really nice to be in the country and on a farm. It was relaxing. We will be back:)

Perfect Getaway
This place is peaceful, quiet, clean, and quaint. Cathy greeted us upon check-in and made sure to show us around. There was everything you need in the kitchen as far as cooking and she had farm fresh eggs every morning. The Sunset Suite was bright and cheery; complete with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was supplied with towels, rags, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and make-up removal wipes. The large deck and fire pit were an added bonus. Richard made sure we had plenty of wood for our night time fires. Everyone was utmost welcoming and the hospitality was top notch. We will be staying here again!

Perfect seclusion
A friend and I decided we needed a change of scenery during all this pandemic craziness, and the Berger farm was the perfect spot. It was so beautiful and nicely secluded. Not far from Hermann, when we want to go and do some wine tasting, but far enough away to avoid the crowds. The owners were so nice and helpful. We enjoyed the farm animals and the country sights and sounds. We'll definitely be back!

Another great weekend
This was our 2nd time here this year. Richard and Maggie are the ultimate hosts! Beautiful place to stay, lovely pool and pond and the most friendly farm pets you could ask for. Just and hour and a half from home and its a blessing. We will be back again!

The property was as advertised. Beautiful 1 bedroom place
Great deck overlooking a beautiful lake and farm. Great fishing and an awesome pool. Dakota the farm dog was as loveable as could be. And our host Richard was a joy to meet and talk with. Could not have asked for a better weekend except maybe a little cooler. We'll be back!

Easy checkin, accommodating hosts, faulty wifi but owner had not rented in a long time due to pandemic so understandable. It was extremely relaxing and I’d love to visit again sometime!

Great for a weekend getaway.
We came to visit our local wine country. In addition to enjoying the area, this space was perfect. It was very clean and welcoming. The hosts were generous and even provided some farm fresh eggs.
My wife especially appreciated the peaceful county atmosphere that we could explore and experience together.

Quiet getaway..
Definitely a go back sort of place. 7 miles away from Hermann so not a bad drive.. the place was spotless and comfy. Starting the day with a tour of the farm to feed the animals and see the sites was awesome. Has everything you need if you don't want to hit town for meals. Hope to get back there soon and enjoy the quiet.

New, super clean farm retreat
Rented the Sunrise and Sunset apartment for two nights in June. We found everything to be immaculate and well looked after. Both rooms were updated but yet still had 'old world' charm. We didn't cook, but the kitchens appeared to have everything. Excellent bed and rainfall shower. You enter the retreat through the cornfields and then it opens up to a beautiful farm property. The sheep, chickens, ducks and swans were fun to have around. The roosters did serve as an early morning wake up call, but that's to be expected. The property is about 15 minutes to Hermann, which was perfect for us. The main reason we chose to stay here was the outdoor pool, which was clean and overlooked the large pond with swans and their babies. At the back of the property is an 1800's cemetery we took a stroll around. If that's not your thing, you won't even notice it set back in the trees. The sunrise/sunset apartments share an entry door, and very large deck. Once in the entry, there is a door to the left and right for each room. Perfect if traveling with another couple as we were. The owner is very nice and lives in the house next to the apartments. He was there, but we barely noticed him while he was going about his chores. We did talk to him a few times, and he always asked if everything was to our liking. Upon arrival we received some farm fresh eggs for breakfast, nice touch. We would stay here again without reservation.

Wonderful unique place to stay. Highly recommend.
We had a "girls" weekend and stayed in the two 1 bedroom apartments at the Guesthouse. Very charming! Extremely clean and comfortable. The owner goes out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We got to gather fresh eggs in the morning!! Besides being in the middle of wine country the farm has a lot of offer. Plus, we learned of scenic day trips we can take next time and use the Guesthouse as base. Coming back next time to fish!

Sweet and peaceful, with fun just around the corner
The stay at the Berger Guesthouse was just what this mama needed for a little getaway. From the moment I drove onto the yard, Richard was there to welcome me, share a little from his farm's produce (fresh omelets each morning, thanks to his chickens!), and give me leave to roam all over his farm. The farm is lovely and small, with fields tucked away between treed stream valleys. Everywhere I walked, I saw wildlife tracks, heard birdsong, and enjoyed wildflowers. The cemetery was unexpected and truly enjoyable piece of the area's German history...I just had to follow a few of the trails around the swan pond to it.
The apartment itself was well-kept, quiet, prettily decorated, comfortable, and filled with basic conveniences for cooking, etc. Hardwood floors made it homey, and the windows opened up to views of the woods and the sheep in the pasture. Because of the rain, I used the outside deck very little, but I imagine it would be a treat on summer evenings, with a glass of wine in hand!
It's also just a hop, skip, and a jump to Hermann, Missouri. I spent an afternoon there browsing the shops and finding some used books and antique treasures...all by myself. It was lovely.
It's hard to say anything less than great about my stay. I think the only things I could mention were that 1) it was a little difficult to find (I don't have GPS, so maybe that wouldn't be a problem for others), and 2) the farm's roosters set their own timetable for Wake Up, regardless of when I went to bed. Richard said they may not be staying for long. :) Other than that, I expect to return soon and enjoy this lovely place again soon!
