About this house rental

Welcome to Alpine Escape! Enjoy incredibly easy access to some of the best skiing in New York. This home has all the extras and finishing touches that will make your vacation great, and it's only a short 1/4 mile walk to the slopeside drop off area where Wonderama and Lower Wipeout trails merge.

On the main level, the recently remodeled kitchen features custom shaker cabinets, beautiful granite countertops and all the cookware and extras you could want. Australian Cypress hardwood flooring is beautiful and comfortable, and the slate backsplash and LED undercounter lighting make this kitchen a cook's dream. The breakfast bar easily seats 4 and the dining table seats 6 or expands for more so you can all enjoy meal time together. The table leaves are self storing in the table and there are additional chairs in the lower level queen bedroom. The custom made antique ski and wine bottle chandelier is truly one of a kind. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area in this open concept floor plan. Enjoy the comfortable couch and recliner and kick back and watch some movies on the Smart TV. The living room also has a Play Station 3 with lots of pre-loaded games, and it will also play DVDs and Bluray. If you really want to get cozy, relax by a nice warm woodburning fire. There is also a large deck off the main level. There is a Weber gas grill and Adirondack chairs so you can grill and sit comfortably with a nice view of the mountain woods. The main level has a half bathroom. For skiers, its important to note that there is also a large ski room that is the first room you enter coming in the front door. It is heated and features numerous ski racks, coat racks, and cubbies for your boots, helmets, etc...

Alpine Escape has 3 bedrooms and two sleeping lofts. The Master bedroom, on the upper level has a queen sized bed, and plenty of floor space. It has a dresser and large closet for storage. There is also a sleeping loft on the upper level with a full size bed and two twin size futons. The futons are normally set up as chairs but can be converted into comfortable twin mattresses. Both futons are in the loft with the twin bed and set up as chairs, but if you want to set them up as beds one of them will have to move to the adjacent loft area. Please note that this is a loft - not a private bedroom and is open to the rest of the floor. It is a great place for kids to sleep. The master bathroom is also on the upper level and it has a jetted tub and a separate shower with steam shower option.

On the lower level, there are two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed, with plenty of additional floor space if you want to bring sleeping bags or a Pack n Play. It also has a dresser and closet for storage. The other bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds to sleep 4. There is a closet and some under-bed drawers for storage. The lower level bedrooms share a full bathroom with a large tub/shower combo. There is also a laundry room on the lower level with washer and dryer.

Peters property was great for two families with 4 adults and 4 kids. The bunk room was great for the older ones while the loft outside of the master allowed our littlest to stay close by. The condo was clean and had a great ski room to keep all the snow outside of the main living area.

The Great Alpine Escape

Property was very modern, clean and well furnished. The location was very quiet in the summer and even though there was a heat wave it was very cool in the house. Lot's of windows and skylights that open for a cool breeze. There is mountain biking right on Windham mountain but just 10 minutes away are the trails at Elm Ridge for mountain biking and the escarpment trail for hiking. Both areas contain multi days worth of trails to explore. There is a breakfast/lunch/bike shop down the road and places for dinner in town but the kitchen is well equipped so we did a lot of cooking on our own.

this is on a resort so I felt somewhat better about my safety also the house was great. its beautiful and secluded enough that you get the privacy you want. I brought my dog and she loved it and it was easy enough to access. I had a great time would come again!! :-)

This is a beautiful house that feels like someone's home rather than a generic sterile rental. Peter and Lynne clearly love to spend time here and it shows. The house was more spacious than the townhouses we are used to renting in the community slightly further down the slopes. Check-in was seamless. The house was very clean and has all the necessary amenities and then some. We look forward to renting here again next season.

We stayed for 3 nights at Pete’s condo and loved it! It’s cozy, clean and comfortable with lots of space for a party of 8. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are super comfy. We thought it was a little tricky to find - adding a street address to the check-in instructions, rather than the condo’s name, would have been helpful to put into our GPS.

This was a somewhat last-minute decision to get away for a week with my family, trying to escape "quarantine fever..." The experience was excellent from start to finish. Booking was extremely easy, contact with the owner was always fast and precise, and the rental was extremely comfortable! Despite being a lodge in a major ski area, our summer stay was excellent, made so by the preparation the owners put into the lodge. Every amenity was available, and some of the simple things that often pop up, like internet problems, were non-existent. We stayed for five days, and enjoyed every moment of the stay. The lodge is only a few miles from anything you might need, including grocery shopping. Nights were very quiet and easy sleeping, and the days were just as comfortable. We very much appreciate the preparations made by the owners, which made our stay quite relaxing! We would absolutely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this property! It is in a great location - close to restaurants, hikes, lakes, and even bike rentals down the street. The property is exceptionally clean, comfortable and the kitchen is well outfitted for cooking. We especially enjoyed the deck and grill. The only slight drawback is that the sky light in the master bedroom does not have a blind on it and is quite bright in the morning! We picked up some eye shades so that we could sleep in. Other than that, our stay was quiet, comfortable and truly a pleasure from start to finish. We would definitely stay here again!
