Overall the house was great for 6 adults and 2 children. There’s parking up front for 2 cars in the winter. Road is a little icy so just heads up if it’s snowed. The house could use some more basic amenities, there were barely any dish towels and no hot tub towels. There was actually only 8 towels for bathing/hot tub in the whole house which was disappointing. We did the best with what we had. We would stay again but maybe bring towels just in case.

I'm going to give my feedback on the positive and the negative aspects of our stay at the California Dreaming House in Tahoe Vista. POSITIVE ASPECTS: 1. The Vacasa agents always communicated with me promptly with all of my text messages and were very respectful and helpful. 2. It for the most part was a fun house to enjoy our vacation with and a very memorable experience. 3. Great views and a very beautiful setting. Great neighborhood! NEGATIVE ASPECTS: 1. The house was not cleaned by the 4:00 PM check in time and was not ready until 5:45 PM. 2. The outside trash receptacle was crammed full of garbage and not cleaned out until I sent a text about it. 3. Most of the dishes were not cleaned well including the utensils, we had to rewash most of the dishes as they had a greasy coating on them, and there was only 1 fry pan as the other ones were non-stick pans that were worn out and unusable. Plates, bowls, etc. had silverware marks on them, somewhat ugly. 4. Upon opening the stove there was a pan that was full of grease that had spilled all over the inside of the oven area and below it and it took a full roll of paper towels and an hour to clean up the greasy mess. 5. There was a lack of kitchen towels. 6. There was a lot of extra stuff crammed into many of the closets such as cleaning supplies and parts and pieces such as repair items, very unkept and disorganized. 7. The blinds in the master bedroom were broken and unusable. 8. The Hot tub had a constant drip from the deck above creating a drippy experience from the rain and melting snow. 9. The red chairs in the front living room were extremely soiled with stains on them and quite frankly very gross and unsightly, the other two sitting chairs are so uncomfortable when we sat in them you sink down and need pillows to get comfortable in them. 10, The inside of the barbeque grill was extremely dirty, moldy and greasy and almost caught on fire after we started it up due to the excess of grease in it before we shut it off and could not barbeque our chicken due to the condition of the grill. I don't mean to be so negative, but this is a cool house, and it should have been better maintained and kept up especially for the price that we paid for it. If I were you, I would assess the house to take care of the negative items to get a better experience for people that rent this nice house, Unfortunately I would not rent this house again or recommend it to anyone. This is my honest assessment. Thank you.

The cabin was nice, updated, spacious and dog friendly. The kitchen cookware could use some updating but overall we loved the location and living space.

I has happy with location and the surrounding shops and beaches. The house itself can use some TLC and minor upgrades. It gets real stuffy with no AC so when we arrived, the smell was unbearable. I immediately went out to buy air fresheners and candles. Furniture is worn and passed its days! This is a very basic home complete with basic needs. Lots of room for my family but not enough to do within the house itself. I enjoyed both decks upper and lower. The flatscreens were too tiny for the massive walls but we made due with what we had?

My family and my dog had a very nice stay the past two nights. My 4 kids loved to stay here and spend time here. We cooked breakfast and was able to find all silver ware and pans. Although our beds were some what squeaky when we went to bed everything was great. Thank you for having us this past weekend we loved it!

I read all the other reviews prior to booking and thought we would give it a try anyway. What everyone else says is true. It has good bones, but the furniture is so worn that it is uncomfortable to sit on. We stayed for Thanksgiving, and the knives were dull enough that they were more of a hazard. Such a shame the place has potential. Also, we had a carbon monoxide AND fire alarm go off in the middle of the night. If I had to do it over, I would choose a different place. The neighbors used our trash can and let their dog poop in our yard without cleaning up (not the fault of the listing in any way)

The house was fine. The service terrible. Spent a huge amount for 13 days. 8 people. 3 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels. Internet didnt work. After 2 hours of calling manager, they told me to call cable company. Which was useless as I didn’t have access to account. Then I was told to reset modem. Modem was in a locked closet. Impossible to reach company when hot tub and ice didn’t work. Many other examples. House was fine though. So if everything goes smooth, then you’ll like house. If it doesn’t you’ll be extremely frustrated.

Enjoyed watching golfers from the upper deck, you're right on the green. Cozy house with plenty of space. Quiet and convenient neighborhood. Beds were good, couches only ok sorry to say. Dogs loved the back yard, though one kept wanting to chase birds on the golf green! We'd stay here again.

The furniture is old & beat up and the kitchen is missing some key things like a tea kettle and more than one hand towel. Overall we were happy to be here.

The property has some wear and tare. However it served the purpose for our visit to Lake Tahoe. It was clean.

This house was perfect for our group - 2 bedrooms upstairs, one with a king and one with two twins with trundle beds, and a shared bathroom. Downstairs a separate bedroom and bathroom. The living room and kitchen are large and backing to a golf course felt spacious. However the place really needs some TLC. We stayed in the same place two years ago and it needed TLC then and definitely needs it now. There are only 4 spoons in the house, no dish scrub brush, not enough measuring cups (only one 1/3 cup and no others), and no teapot. There are also almost no spices. The air filters were also filthy. We found a replacement for one of the air filters and changed it out, but there was no replacement for the other one. Also, one of the leather chairs is broken and either needs to be fixed or replaced. We would stay there again, but I’m hoping they fix these things before we come again.

We brought out 18 month old pup with us and loved this family house! Being on the golf course was really nice as the dog could room, kids could sled etc. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful but also centrally located (easy access to Safeway). The hot tub, laundry and split level was just perfect! The big kitchen was also a big plus

This house was perfect for our young kids to explore the snow! The layout was nice and there was plenty of snow as soon as you stepped outside. The home needs some minor repairs, there was an electrical boxes sticking half out of the wall in the kids bedroom, the downstairs bathtub didn’t seal and the bathroom doors upstairs were missing the top hinge so it shut awkwardly. The DVD player also wouldn’t play any movies we brought. The kitchen was missing some basics like a measuring cup and a tea kettle, but the charms of the house made us excited to visit again soon! The hot tub was great and there is easy access to everything locally.

Cute cabin, great location. Enough seating for everyone. Stocked with all the amenities we needed. Arrived to a clean home, heater and jacuzzi was set and cozy when we arrived, soft 80s music playing. We appreciated everything.

Grace with Vacasa was EXCELLENT to work with and answered all questions quickly. She was wonderful. The home is well loved. For a $1000 weekend, during shoulder season, I would expect better amenities: slightly nicer furnishings, wine glasses (not scratched/stained plastic wear), a blow dryer that actually blows air, a binder with yelp or brochures for local restaurants, delivery, and services. For example, a very large storm blew in with much more rain and snow than anticipated. A binder that, for example, had a snow blower/removal service number would have been very helpful. The power was out all day and there was not a match or candle to be found. The location to the lake and Northstar make this place a great location but it is lacking in decor, supplies, and amenities. Honestly, Grace's help during the storm is what earned this 4 stars rather than 3.

A few cob webs, a few moths in the closet, slow draining master bath, but hot tub was hot, plenty of kitchen accessories, warm, bright and fun, wifi was a little weak for 4 adults. I would stay again.

We really enjoyed this beautiful home and loved watching the golfers on the 3rd hole. The house had more than enough dish soap, hand soap, laundry soap, etc. and was as described. The only issue was we dropped off all our stuff and left to get something to eat. When we got back someone was sitting in the driveway and said they were with Vacasa and they were there to do an inspection. She left though without coming in, that we know of, and said it was fine. So that was a little odd. We figure she was supposed to have been there before we checked in and she was running late. Not really sure. But the house was really nice. We will be back.
