Great stay for a solo traveler. Cute garden setting with incredibly cute dogs as welcome committee. Friendly hosts.

I booked this cottage for my niece and fiancé who were visiting to attend the Dickens Faire. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and centrally located for easy excursions to many Bay Area locations. It was a wonderful place to relax and recharge between activities. I would definitely rebook for any visiting family and friends.

I stayed in the cottage for 12 nights while I was attanding several activities and work meetings.
it is a central spot for mid peninsula and easy to reach freeways to SF or SJ. Menlo Park and Palo Alto have all you need as far as meals, shopping, and etertainment.
the cottage is well done with nice appliances and good amount of room for single person or couple. very conformable and easy to come and go as needed.
overall a really great stay and I will be back!!

very cute cottage in the back garden of a home. beautiful landscaping and a fun group of pets. Tank and KitKat were my pals.
Easy drive to SF or SJ via 280 and located near all mid-Peninsula highlights (Stanford, University Ave, Santa Cruz Ave)
great hosts and beautiful place.
I enjoyed my stay very much and will be back !

Really nice neighborhood. Convenient to Starbucks and a small market. Owner and pets were great, expecially the friendly cat who hung out with us a lot. The house is very comfy with a full kitchen. Everything you need. Will return.

Sweet cottage in the back of the main home. The home owners were very kind and helpful. They maintain their home and the cottage impeccably, and the grounds are truly beautiful with all the flowers, plants and vines. Bonus for me was the adorable Corgi and two sweet kitties. :-)
The cottage itself had obviously just been upgraded, with a great kitchen and bathroom.
Lovely neighborhood, lovely people and very relaxing cottage. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you,
Lori

Quaint but totally modern cottage with A/C, washer/dryer, state-of-the-art European fridge and stove, comfy Serta bed, kitchen equipped with condiments, tea/coffee, etc. A lovely and pleasant place to stay. Perfect for a weekend getaway. I'll be back next month!

Stayed in the garden cottage for the second year in a row for a work function. It has everything that you could need for a Bay Area visit for one or two people.

In Menlo Park! Everything was lovely and convenient.

This property is quaint. The cottage itself, clean. The location to Palo Alto is not within walking distance. A good thing to be noted is that parking available on the street and not in driveway. The TV was inoperable. The bed, I believe to be a Murphy bed, was among the worst I’ve ever slept in. I suggested that we put the mattress on the floor. In the morning, my husband's mattress side of the bed was just about on the floor. I really don’t think the bed is safe to sleep on during the night especially if one gets up and down in the dark. I suffered a bruise on my shin trying to climb on board during the night. It seems quite comical, but I wouldn’t sleep here again!

Nice lodging
Overall a lovely stay. The apt is clean and has a washer dryer. The bed is very soft (which I like) but you won't be happy if you need a hard bed. Washer dryer is great. Kitchen has some basic staples (salt, pepper etc). A few small downsides: To get into the property it's necessary to step over a metal 'fence' that keeps the dogs and cats off the street. I suppose it's possible to move but I didn't want to risk it because it looked like it would all tip over. It's a bit awkward and especially tough when carrying a suitcase. Difficult for anyone disabled. Also, during my stay the TV didn't work--kept freezing. The owners were away so it wasn't fixed, a downer.

Great Hosts, Property exceeded expectations
A charming, beautifully laid out cottage, with very generous hosts. Photos don't do it justice.

Lovely quiet cottage, good for animal lovers
The property was clean with a beautiful, thoughtful recent bathroom/kitchen renovation. There were several staff members that offered help if needed, and I felt comfortable having the owner live in the adjacent home. The outdoor garden was lovely, and parking on the street was easy and free. Some considerations are you will definitely see/interact with the two little dogs, and one cat who live on the property as you are walking to and from the cottage. Also, the full size bed is better suited to a single traveler (or a couple that enjoys cuddling, lol), but we knew this up front. I did enjoy my stay, and especially the availability of a washer/dryer. We did not cook, but it is definitely possible to make small meals in the cute little kitchen.

Excellent stay.
I travel for business and this was my best stay yet. Very comfortable, has everything you need, close to the market and restaurants. The garden is so pretty, and well maintained. The owners are very welcoming and kind. Having the dogs and a cat around was a plus, reminds me of home.

Charming cottage, great location.
Very nice accommodations. Cottage is in a great location, convenient to all that the Bay Area offers. Owners are delightful - very personable. As others have commented, the bed mattress is very soft. Kitchenette and bathroom - top of the line. Nice having the washer and dryer too. Would stay here again.

Cute and comfortable cottage
The cottage made for a great stay in Menlo Park. It's a cute little cottage with all updated amenities that are represented well in the pictures. It is located in a nice family neighborhood so it is quiet. The owners were very hospitable and kind. I would highly recommend!

Quiet, clean, modern, good location and friendly, helpful hosts
We stayed over a week in this cute cozy cottage. The outdoor space was perfect for coffee, meals and conversation. The cottage was equipped with modern appliances and had a wonderful shower. The washer and dryer were a bonus. Located in a residential area, it was very quiet. On street parking was easy to find. We would both recommend it and use it again.

Very Cute!
Lovely cottage. Very well appointed. Great kitchen and bathroom, in spite of being small. It was really nice - and the fantastic garden around the cottage and the great neighborhood were super-bonus points.

I loved staying in this house. It was charming, with modern appliances, kitchen and bathroom. I loved the neighborhood.

a rotten, rotten experience
I was looking for something comfortable because I had major abdominal surgery and needed a comfy place to stay to recover. I booked it because it looked very nice. I didn't like the way the old Murphy bed looked in the pictures, but I rolled the dice.
I got out of the hospital and went directly to the rental. It was as nice as the pictures. Until It was bed time.
When i lay down on what was supposed to be a mattress, it was only a box spring. That's right, no mattress. It was too low to the floor, which I didn't pick up on from the pictures.
I got a mental picture of my sutures breaking loose and my guts spilling on the floor. Well, really I had a mental picture of springs poking into me all night and no sleep.
The unit seems to have been completely remodeled. They did a swell job. They clearly ran out of money when they got to the bedroom. So close, yet so far.
If I were the owner my feelings would start with embarrassment and shame. I had to repack everything and find a different place.
I learned something new. VRBO manages the bookings. The owner uses a property manager, too. Evolve Vacation Rentals.
Evolve saved the day, plus some. They stepped in, fixed the problem, and got me moved to a hotel. They even offered to pay for the first night at the hotel.
The service from Evolve, and especially their representative Phillip, was extraordinarily caring, supportive and effective. Evolve, Phillip, saved the day, plus some.
So all's well that ends well. Find someplace else to stay, though.

The cottage was lovely and obvious newly remodeled, nice bath, beautiful little kitchen, great towel
The only things that need attention is the bed is not very comfortable and small, the ch@irs in the room though cute were not very comfortable, the toilet actuator kept break until I believe I repaired it. On the positive side beautiful setting and very quiet. We hope to stay here again
The only other complaint we had was the extra fees that double the listed price.
