About this cottage rental
Newly constructed 4 season home built in the 1930's craftsman style, this little beauty allows for all modern conveniences, while affording its guests an authentic Maine lakeside vacation experience. A gently sloping lawn leads to the bank of 17 mile long, crystal clear Damariscotta Lake, yet is a short drive to the rocky shores of the Atlantic Ocean. A 16'x16' waterside deck overlooks the private deep water dock and swimming float-just steps away from the cottage.
Two kayaks and one canoe are included with the rental that can be launched from the small sandy beach on the property. Exploring the islands and coves of this vast lake this way allows for an up close and personal look at the varied wildlife.
Autumn is especially spectacular in the midcoast region. A few minute's drive to Route 1 brings you along the coast with some of the most breathtaking views in New England.

Our stay at Pine Cone Cottage was peaceful and relaxing. We spent the week enjoying the lake and watching the wild life. The best was when a bald eagle flew over the deck while we were eating dinner.
The cottage is charming and beautifully decorated. The owners took a lot of care to create a comfortable home that takes advantage of the lake and outdoor surroundings.
We loved our time at Pine Cone Cottage and hope to return soon!

Second time my friends and I have stayed here. Lots of space for a lake house, everyone gets a bed!
House is also in great condition, not cheaply made over as a rental property.
Communication was great with the property owners. All in all no complaints!

Unique, cozy, clean property close to the town. Couldnt be closer to the water and kayaks / canoes were the perfect activity for the lake this fall! Would stay again.

Brought my family from Brazil to experience Maine. When I asked how they felt about our lake house, one first timer looked deeply into the fog covering the lake and greenery in the distance and, in the most intense voice said, “I love this place!”

Upon arriving immediately felt at home. Our surroundings were private, perfect view of Damarascotta River wide expanse. Fully equipped kitchen, a joy for chefs of family. Excellent fishing relaxing fire pit. Plenty of room for 6 adults.

Stay of family from New York and friends from Brazil. 4 adults and 3 young adults. Home had plenty of room to spread out but also be together. The home wax beautifully decorated and had everything needed and more! used the dock for our boat.
Great trip

Had a great time at the lake house, will happily stay here again. Nice location, close to town and somewhat private for a lake house.

Mr wife and I are retired and spent four nights here in mid-September 2022. This is an exceptionally clean and comfortable home with a well-equipped kitchen. The location on the lake is excellent and the dock is perfect for a 17-foot Whaler. We would definitely rent again.

You can't beat the water access at this house - beautiful views of the lake from the house, the dock is easily accessible, and it's nice that you have both an easy wade in area to ease your way into the water or take out the kayaks or a deep area to jump right in. Our family spent a very relaxing and peaceful week here! There are a few things that would have made it absolutely perfect. The shower in the basement can't be used and unfortunately the shower outside is pretty visible to the neighbors and doesn't get great warm water. This made it a little bit challenging for six adults to get ready. We also didn't have enough hand/bath towels to go around with the linens option and ended up purchasing some in town at Reny's (great department store and worth checking out if you've never been!). Our time overall was really terrific and we would surely stay again.

We rented the cottage to have a family gathering to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It did not disappoint! Everyone had a marvelous time enjoying the cottage, the lake , and wonderful weather.

Our family of five (kids 16-10-10) enjoyed a few days at Pine Cone Cottage. The space is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, and what anyone would want in a lakefront home. There was plenty of space - the basement offered key hang out room for the kids while the parents enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs looking out the huge living room windows to the lake. It was a great location, offering reasonable distance for day trips to Rockland / lighthouses, breweries and Lake St. George. The lake was quiet this time of year except for the beautiful sounds of loons. Host Anni Pat was great in communication and support for our trip. If there is anything that opens up for warmer weather, we will be sure to jump on it for another stay at PCC. It was the relaxation and mini getaway our family needed!

Perfect place for adults and children to enjoy! For our winter stay enjoyed sledding, ice fishing, the beautiful view and the children very much enjoyed the play area downstairs.
Owners are responsive, attentive, and accessible during the stay and we enjoyed meeting them too. We would love to come back in the summer!

We loved our stay over a chilly, snowy holiday -- and hope to stay again during the summer months sometime! The cottage was cozy warm in a snowstorm, thanks to the radiant heating in the floors. We spent most of our time watching the snow fall on the lake out the giant picture windows -- including a morning when we saw 4 bald eagles (4!) Very clean, modern, well-appointed throughout.

The location and the cottage itself are beautiful! It is a newer cottage with an older cottage charm. It was the perfect place for our family (a tween, teen, two grandmas, my husband and myself) to spend Thanksgiving weekend! The sleeping arrangements worked well for group- grandmas each got a bedroom, a teen in the fun sleeping cubby (think Harry Potter’s room in coastal Maine), my husband, teen, myself on the twin beds in the lower level. Evenings were spent doing puzzles, and looking at the stars. During the day we watched loons on the lake, walked the property, went into town for lunch and to the charming shops. The day after Thanksgiving we woke to a coating of snow. What a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season. We look forward to going back to Pine Cone cottage for all seasons. Also, the rental process was so easy!

We all had a wonderful time! The house is amazing. The property is perfect. The foliage on the lake was amazing!
This is the quintessential Lake House!
We can’t wait to return.
Thank you AnniPat and George for sharing with us!

Pine Cone Cottage is the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. Our family of 5 had fun swimming, kayaking, taking walks and exploring nearby villages. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and the property owners were wonderful to work with. Thank you, Chris & Anni Pat! We hope to return!

Very attractive cottage and outside property. Our plans changed and only 2 to 4 people stayed overnight. We were originally 6, so the space was more than adequate. The only drawback was the mustiness in room on the lake level.

Location of this property was excellent. Private, clean and inviting. The outdoor decks and dock was a huge hit for our family. The kayaks were a great way to explore this clean lake. Hope to return in the future.

Place wasn't cleaned. Downstairs was musty couldn't sleep down there. Wound up on couch. Really only has 2 bedrooms. Also it was cool at night and main heat is a wood fireplace with insert that owner didn't want you to use.

What a tranquil spot! We had a wonderful long weekend at this gorgeous cottage. Definitely has the best spot on the lake with privacy, views from the house & easy water access. The house has everything you need & outdoor space has decks, a dock, firepit & several places to lounge or eat or socialize. Waking up to birds, sunshine & lake views was amazing. Another reviewer mentioned the neighbor's house being close. Important to note it really is not close and is situated behind trees & the driveway - not at all in any of the views or outdoor spaces. I did run into these lovely neighbors once but on a dog walk down the street. Great spot & beautiful interior - highly recommend!

Pine Cone Cottage is absolutely gorgeous. We had a wonderful spring weekend staying there. The home, the lake, and the town made for a perfect little vacation.

We absolutely adored our little vacation at this property. The location and views were amazing and it was the perfect house and had all of the accommodations needed for the children. They enjoyed the games, books, and toys immensely while the parents could relax and enjoy life on the lake. It is definitely a house we will gladly return to for many more memories!

Great views and peaceful lake was just the ticket to get away from the news and work from home and son's zoom classes. Very convenient to incredible coastal towns and everyone was very friendly. Will definitely take the owners advice and go in the winter for ice fishing.

I live in Maine and frequent the lakes and ocean. I needed a few nights to just get away before a busy project starts. Pine Cone Cottage was the perfect solution. I was happy to have a mix of both sun an rain to allow for total relaxation. I didn't do much exploring, but read, wrote, relaxed, napped and enjoyed the space/location. Lots of loons, which I adore. Limited boat traffic, but I welcomed the hum of motors going by.
Specifically - the kitchen is very clean and well stocked; the place is very well built; the bed very comfortable; the porches/decks/picnic tables perfect. My only suggestion is to update the cushions/pillows on rocking chairs and outdoor lounge chairs. They don't reflect the quality of the rest of the cottage. I do hope to be back.

My daughter and I stayed in this magical Maine cottage for 4 nights and were so sad to leave. The location, decor, quality of the rental were all beyond expectations. Though rainy and cool every day we enjoyed exploring Damariscotta, Popham beach, Reid State Park, Pemaquid Point...such a beautiful area. We would definitely rent here again.

This was a great experience for our family (parents, 11-year old boy, dog). The house is truly unique and beautiful, and the hosts were as helpful as they could be with a malfunctioning grill. Proximity to Damariscotta (bookstore!) was a happy plus.

My family had the pleasure of renting AnniPat's beautiful lakefront cottage for Easter weekend. It was just the right getaway for our Cape Cod Family. We enjoyed the spectacular lake view from this gorgeous cottage. Although early spring, it was still wonderful to wake up, drink coffee and go out on the deck and look at nature. Our dog, Gracie loved it too. We didn't need to use all the rooms, but there was plenty of space in the very clean and comfortable house. I enjoyed the history offered in the story of how the cottage was built which included a great story that started in NYC with a dream that was pursued and reached successfully. We hope to go back maybe in leaf-peeping season or late fall when is still warm enough to go kayaking, etc. as they are included as well in the rental. We ventured downtown and hade a nice meal outside at King Elder's pub (Fabulous Mussels) one afternoon under outdoor heat lamps and heated cushions. We played a few of the games in the "game drawer" and did some reading too. Alll in all a great, relaxing time. Just wished our son at Bates College could have joined us but that wasn't in the cards due to Covid restrictions unfortunately (maybe next year). We also drove down to Boothbay Harbor which was quiet in early April and a neighbor recommended Ocean Point which was a beautiful stop and a great stop to make where you can walk out on the rocks, etc. and enjoy nice ocean views. Hope to come back again to Pine Cone Cottage. You will enjoy it!

The cottage was really quite beautiful and a classic Maine cottage right on the edge of the lake. We were able to bring our small dog who loved walking on the frozen lake and up the dirt road. My two teenage girls loved the quiet with access to the internet and movies on the two TVs. My husband and I just looked out at the lake and read our books. It was delightful. It was very private even with another house nearby. The owner was easy to access if needed. We loved our stay.

The Pine Cone Cottage was everything described and more. You need to see this cottage and setting to appreciate the care and attention to detail the cottage and setting have to offer. The lake is tranquil and rejuvinating. The loons, eagles and wonderful fishing an added bonus.Wonderful golf courses are within a half hour drive from the cottage, the town of New Castle was delightful as was our drive around the lake and stop at "Cow hit Corner". If it is excitment you crave Booth Bay Harbor is a short drive away but I would recommend a visit to Penaquid Point Lighthouse, breakfast at Moody's Diner, and a day in Camden.

It was even better than we ever imagined!! The home was gorgeous and in an ideal location. We were able to travel to more of the tourist harbors within a day, Damariscotta was a wonderful small harbor town to enjoy just a short drive away, and we could still enjoy the private beauty of the unique home and lake. We loved being able to kayak around the coves and to the islands and swim right out front of the home. The loon calls are natures beautiful music at night or in the morning. Lie on the dock some evening and look at the stars or have an evening dessert time on the outside picnic bench and just soak it all in. Kitchen spices, pans, ect. are provided if you would like to create your own meals, but there are wonderful restaurants in Damariscotta to eat at. Most everyone we met were kind, helpful, and friendly. Fun history to learn about like the Catholic Church and Glidden Middons. Great honeymoon place too :)! Please see for yourself, but save a week where we can come back!
