Great location; great welcome, with freshly baked break, juice, loaf, with jam and butter along with milk - best ever!
Very sad we couldn't stay there again tonight 11 April, as we were evacuated from our Milford Track walk.

We loved our short stay at the chalet - a very comfortable place in a beautiful part of the world. Helen is a fantastic host. We loved the animals and the walks, and the extras Helen provided (fresh bread, date loaf, milk, juice, etc) were very thoughtful.

Helen was an amazing host, bringing us home made snacks during our visit and fresh bread and jam, milk and OJ created us on our arrival. The home was very comfortable with perfect location, close to entrance of Keppler Track and Fiordland. Highly recommended with beautiful views of nature and stars at night including the Southern Cross. Very Peaceful.

A great place to relax.
This was the ideal location for our stay as it was peaceful and picturesque and yet so close to everywhere we wanted to visit and experience. Helen was very helpful and friendly and was a great host. If you would rather look out over the mountains than stare at the next motel unit, this is your place!

Amazing time
This was the best place we have ever taken the family to. The house was really nice and warm. The owner was so kind and helpful. Lots of animals for the kids to see and interact with. When we come back to this part of the country we will be coming back to this place without hesitation.

Great place to stay
We had a great time in Te Anau. We've never had such a great host - Helen gave us great suggestions for activities, drove us to pick our car left at one end of a walk, lit the fire for us so it was cosy and warm when we got back from an outing, fresh bread.... Post COVID Te Anau is pretty quiet - even during school holidays. I strongly urge people to visit there - there's never been a better time to see our country. Definitely stay with Helen - just fantastic place. The cottage is cosy, and has spectacular views of mountains, it's a very short drive into town. We found heaps to do and could easily have enjoyed a few more days there.

The house itself is very nicely appointed, with comfortable beds in both rooms, a large and luxurious bathroom, generous kitchen and living/dining area, and a lovely verandah with views across the countryside, and on to the mountains on the horizon. The log fire provides ample heating, and is supplied by a large stockpile of firewood, and the setting is one of unspoiled tranquility; a perfect base for exploring the region.

Wonderful kid-friendly stay
Such a great place to stay with a little one. Plenty of space to play and our son loved feeding the sheep and riding the pony. Helen was lovely and the freshly baked bread every day was amazing. We will recommend to any friends who are staying in the area. Location was excellent, a short drive into town. Beautiful views.

Warm hospitality from the host, Helen. Would definitely want to visit and stay again.
Kids like the pony ride much, and Bolt is a beautiful n friendly dog, waiting early and quietly in the morning for us, to play with him.
I’m extremely excited to see the “Milky Way “ first time .
Unforgettable!

Beautiful relaxing stay with warm hospitality.
We loved our stay so much especially our 18 month old daughter who adored all the animals. The extra touches of freshly baked bread and having the fire lit for you when you returned in the evenings were so thoughtful. The chalet is very homely and it was good to be able to prepare simple meals instead of eating out every day. Thank you Helen, David and family.

We loved the location just on the edge of town with lovely hill views.
We loved the location just on the edge of town with lovely hill views. The freshly baked bread, baking and wine were an unexpected and appreciated surprise. A good basic continental breakfast with juice and milk topped up in the fridge daily. Cosy, vintage small cottage feel in a rural setting suited us to a perfectly but wouldn't suit a person who is fussy about modern clean lines and animal poo in the paddock next door. All of the animals were super friendly. Really enjoyed our stay

It is a 2 bedroom house on a small farm, about 50 meters away from Helen's home, and just a few kilometers from Te Anau. There is a full kitchen, washing machine, and a nice shower. There are two bedrooms and a nice living room, plus a covered porch on the front of the house.

The property is very close to the city centre, Te Anau lake, & the Kepler trail. During day time, untouched natural scenery is visible all around from both inside & outside of the cottage. If the night is clear then the stars look spectacular as well

Amazing property to stay at. An older property with original features with farm animals (sheep, alpaca, guinea pig, alpaca, baby lamb, pony, dog) which my children especially loved. Helen allowed my son a ride on the pony which he loved too. Fresh bread each evening plus daily baking was appreciated very much! Also one day we came back to our washing hung up by the fire to dry which was awesome. A great fire which heated up the chalet plus a big spa bath too. Would highly recommend this!!!

The facilities are great with a full kitchen, media setup, comfortable beds and a terrific shower and heated spa. Very close to Te Anau and a comfortable day trip to Milford Sound with ability to do a long walk or several short walks along the way through the continually beautiful New Zealand country side and rain forests.
My wife and I will be undoubtedly staying here again in the future.
