Great unit, not big but it’s newly renovated with a full kitchen, open floor plan, great light and best of all a first floor deck and second level screened porch off the primary overlooking the beach and ocean! Could sit on the porch for hours just watching the ocean and listening to the waves. There is also a deck in the front with chairs and table, and a first floor powder room. Location is central to restaurants and downtown Rehoboth but the trade off is that the area can get busy. Overall had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend! Would be perfect in any season.

We had an incredible time staying at the Sandy Paws Beach House. The updates to the property are gorgeous. Everything is so peaceful and serene. I would give anything to be back on the front balcony off the master bedroom listening to the waves crash on the beach. The owner was very communicative and helpful during our stay. I highly recommend renting this property.

Perfect location with amazing ocean views! Beautiful place that’s been recently renovated. It’s very comfortable and really has everything you need to have a wonderful stay. We spent the days on the beach, walked to dinner, then walked to Sunset Park then back to the house to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony watching and listening to the ocean. Looking forward to our next visit!

We love this condo--right on the beach, with two porches overlooking the ocean. The condo has EVERYTHING you could want and is very clean. Close to Woody's for crab cakes; walking distance to Rehoboth. We had great weather and sat on the beach in the beach chairs provided. Two small pods of dolphins put on a show right in front of my chair on Thursday. Honestly, I can't think of any way the stay could have been better!

We really enjoyed this little beach townhouse. Location could not be better. We loved being able to see, hear, and smell the ocean on both floors. Our puppy was in heaven playing on the beach and making lots of doggie friends. (Dewey is extremely dog friendly). The townhouse and its furnishings are simple but comfortable, with a cozy feel. Our only complaint was that the cheap toaster didn’t work; something that can easily be solved. We will definitely be returning!!

Communication with the owners was excellent: detailed, and prompt. The property was exactly as described. Gorgeous views, esp from the upper deck. We had everything we needed for a week of fun on the beach with our dogs! Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. We especially appreciated the private beach entrances from the property which allowed us to walk barefoot in the sand to the water directly from our lodging! We look forward to staying here again!

We had a great stay with our family! You can't beat the view! Even on rainy days, the upstairs screened in porch was perfect for hanging out. It was amazing to fall asleep listening to the waves and wake up to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the beach steps outside your door. The space is cozy and was perfect for us, along with my mom and toddler. We would love to come back and would recommend Susan and her home to anyone looking for a cozy beach cottage feel with an amazing view and location.

The property at first glance is cute when you walk in the front door. The location is awesome. The you go upstairs to put your bags away in your room. Then you realize you rented 2 bedrooms instead of 3 supposedly there is a divider to split the bayside bedroom, which is broken. There is only 1 full bathroom, which is full of mold and mildew and is small. There is a 1/2 bathroom on the main floor which is also small, and an outdoor shower that was put in a utility closet outside. The description of the space is misleading, and one of us ending up sleeping on a couch for the week. Not ideal and very uncomfortable.

We had a wonderful week and could not have asked for a better location! Amazing beach views and within walking distance of most Dewey restaurants. The upstairs deck off of the main bedroom was a great location to start and end the day. It was also an extra perk that we could bring our dog with us.

Although the weather didn’t really cooperate we had a wonderful time. We were prepared for the “vintageness “ and it really was lovely with unmatched ocean views. However, the sofas are very hard to sit on, and the ceiling fans need dusting! Also, one of our group had hoped to work online while there but the wifi was very weak and spotty. We were happy to be able to take our dogs and they had a great time too. Thank you.

We recently stayed at 9 Surfside Plaza vacation rental in Dewey Beach during the off-season, a long rainy weekend, and despite the weather, we had a fantastic time! The rental is located on the beach with totally unobstructed views of the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, and it is also within walking distance of some restaurants. Susan responded quickly to any queries regarding our stay.
The rental itself was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, and the living area was relaxing and cozy, with enough seating and a large TV. And when it was time to hit the hay, the king-size bed was sufficiently comfortable.
Despite the rain, we enjoyed the rental's outdoor spaces, which included covered porches on the first and second floors. We spent much time sitting outside, enjoying the sounds of the ocean, rain, thunder, and the fresh sea air. We also had several opportunities to step out the back door and take long walks on the beach with the roaring waves!
Overall, we highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing getaway in Dewey Beach, rain or shine. The location, amenities, and attention to detail make it a truly wonderful place to stay.
We hope to return to 9 Surfside Plaza in the future.

Can't beat the view!
Stayed here for our family vacation with our two teenagers and our dog.
Here's what we liked:
-The view! The upstairs deck had an amazing view, and the screened-in porch and furniture made it extremely pleasant to spend outside listening and watching the waves.
-Access to the beach. The path was just to the right of the building. Can't beat it.
-Price. This was one of the more affordable properties that sits right on the beach. This is probably because the building is old and noticeably worn, but the listing is up-front about that.
-Decoration - the property was very nicely decorated.
-Books! So many books to choose from. We appreciated this extra effort.
-Beach items - the property was well-stocked with beach chairs, toys, and other items.
-The owner was very kind and mostly responsive.
Here are the few items that kept our score from being perfect:
-Cleanliness: there was white dog hair on all the furniture, and the shower curtain was moldy. Otherwise, it was generally clean.
-Communication about the A/C. Due to health conditions, the A/C was extremely important to us. I made this very clear in the months leading up to our stay. At first we were told that the new A/C was going to be installed in March, then in April, and then finally the week before our stay in May. When we arrived, there was a note on the built-in thermostat that said not to touch it. There was also an A/C remote in the basket at the door. Because of the note, we assumed that we should use the remote to control the A/C. We assumed incorrectly. We eventually found out that the note was outdated, that the remote was useless, and that we should have controlled the A/C using the thermostat. However, we didn't realize this until the following day. Therefore, our first night was very sweaty, stressful, and sleepless. To be clear, the A/C works just fine, but I would have appreciated a stronger effort to ensure no confusion regarding how to use A/C, especially since I sent multiple messages to the owner in the months beforehand to indicate that the A/C was very important to us.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again.

Exactly as advertised. We enjoyed being directly behind the beach dunes and so close to all the Dewey restaurants (get the Vanderwende ice cream!) Appreciated having everything we needed in a well organized kitchen. This is a great spot for a smaller family. Susan was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We loved our stay in this cute little beachfront townhouse. The 3 decks mean there's always an outdoor place for sun and shade and the fact that you are steps from the beach makes it easy to go in and out for drinks, snacks, and boogie boards. We never drove after we arrived as it's an easy walk to the main street with restaurants, ice cream, and whatever you need. The house is has everything you (and your dog - ours loved the morning and evening beach walks and the beach is very dog friendly as advertised) need for a great little beach getaway.

Our second time staying in this property and another great stay! Location can't be beat. Loved starting and ending our days watching the ocean from the deck, and could easily walk to all that Dewey has to offer. Really appreciate that our dogs are allowed as they enjoy the beach as much as we do!
